The kidney numbers, eGFR and uACR, determine the health of our kidneys, as well as our risk for heart disease and the risk for chronic kidney disease (CKD) getting worse. The visual guide for determining these risks is the CKD Heat Map. Understanding the role of the kidney numbers and how to read and interpret the CKD Heat Map are difficult concepts to convey to both patients and the general population. Therefore, the National Kidney Foundation has developed three short and engaging animated videos to help explain these complex topics in the simplest terms possible.
About the National Kidney Foundation:
Fueled by passion and urgency, National Kidney Foundation is a lifeline for all people affected by kidney disease. As pioneers of scientific research and innovation, NKF focuses on the whole patient through the lens of kidney health. It says when found early and treated right - what does treated right mean? What do you do?
There are medications now that have shown to slow the progression of kidney disease or decrease in gfr
The classes of medications called Ace inhibitors/ ARBs, sglt-2 inhibitors and Nonsteroidal - mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists
My result reads: 2021 CKD-EPI EGFR-CR 90 >59 mL/min/1.73m'2, this video gives no clue as to how I can gage this for better or worse.
If your eGFR is 90 that means excellent kidney function, CKD EPI is an equation that gives approximate GFR .

What is UACR??? I don't see that anywhere on any of my labs.
It is urine albumin to creatinine ratio ( UACR) is the amount of protein one is spilling in the urine, normal is less than 30
@@Beandoc Does it mean that if my urine is protein free, that im on the safe side? Sorry a bit worried 😅
@@nashazzi8399 yes, if you do not have any protein in the urine that is a good sign
So why does the NHS put 3-30 as moderately increased. Mine is at 6.7 and it says abnormal?
Is a egfr of 77 reversible?
It's worse than an eGFR of 78.
Nice. Follow the CKD diet chart from Planet Ayurveda.
Sure, if you wanna waste your money on BS claims not proven to do anything, but which may even worsen your symptoms 🙄
Okok
Total gobblygook! First you need an explanation of all the terms etc
Stage 3 CKD ??
that means kidney function is moderately impaired, GFR range any where from 30-60 . CKD 3a means kidney working around 45-60% and CKD 3 b means kidneys working 30-45 %
What is the egfr for a patient age 61yrs male with 85kg weight serum creatinine 0.87 mg..acr 62.75mg
