I wanted you to settle down...

Yes
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I never recommend trying something new. I like to learn one skill (poorly, if possible) and refuse to deviate from it under any circumstances.
exactly right...
A good rule to live by.
you ain’t
Oh! And it shows!
This felt like an oddly mature Art Attack with a lot of dry, bluntly corroborated sarcasm. I absolutely love it. Give me more, now. Thank you
You're welcome
Ha ha yes just what I was thinking. Like Art Attack but with the dark humour of Peep Show.
I came from Studson's video and stayed for the amazing skills and humour!
Welcome
This was not only a great build, but a really well done collab!
thank you mate!
So happy about this collab! Huge fan of both of you! Excited to see who else you might collab with in the future.
Glad you liked it... can't think of anyone else I'd rather collab with
@@BillMakingStuff Same time next week then?

@@BillMakingStuff Maybe Jazza. That would be fun 😁

i cant believe studson flew all the way to you to provide some words of encouragement.....I'm even more surprised Studson's mom drove to pick him up.
My head cannon now is that Studson is your slighty dim son who watches you craft
Ha... good
@@BillMakingStuff why did a translate under this

Head cannon 😂. I think you meant canon but please don’t change it. I love the idea of a random subscriber wandering about, wearing a poorly crafted cannon on their head.
Lol cool vid. Had me smiling the whole way through 😂
Loved the little Studson interactions reminded me of when i craft with my little nephews lol.

My go-tos for cutting plastic are dremel cutting discs or x-acto knives.
thanks for the advice

2 ways to cut plastic balls. A thin miter saw or scoring with a knife where you need it to break and then snap off. If you think you'll break to much, cut small section at a time.
Hope that helps..
Did you try a dremel for cutting those tree baubles?
This is no exaggeration but you exhibited the highest level of human talent and achievement that I’ve ever witnessed.
I know, thanks
This is like the funniest collab I've ever seen. I love you guys
Love you too
Maybe a little off topic but i love the aesthetics and consistency of your thumbnails
Thank you. I wasnt sure. Seems its 50/50 with my audience
Hello Bill, for the if you wish the prevent mangling your balls in the future, I would recommend trying a Carbide Rod Saw blade in a hacksaw handle, it's round so it's easier to do curved cuts.
The build looks great! I am excited to see your channel grow so fast, I remember just a few weeks ago you were under a thousand subscribers, and now here you are! Well done sir
feels longer than that... doesn't help I sit here constantly refreshing my page for the sub count update. thanks for following me in my short career.
That was beautiful. Kind of weird and mildly disturbing but beautiful.
Yeah kinda went a bit far with the improv at points... 😕
@@BillMakingStuff It's okay because you were definitely right about hoarding those lights.
Everyone should always wear a mask while sanding things and going outside. You dont want foam or diseases getting into your lungs. Also the metroid turned out really nice!
This was great again Bill. Do keep injecting your unique comedy into each vid. Nice to see your flexibility as an artist.
Thanks, will do!
Try scoring the plastic ball with an exacto knife repeatedly. It may take longer, but you’ll get a cleaner cut.
I will thanks
There are fretsaw or scrollsaw blades with spiral teeth you can use to saw any shape and direction, or you can use a drill/dremel to puncture the drawn circle and sand it afterwards. That maybe works with the hot knife too by poking holes into the plastic. But it's always a nasty work to cut round shapes.
@@sonoftarg3793 thanks for the wealth of knowledge
Something that works really well for me when cutting plastic is actually aviation snips, which are usually used for metal, and come in either left, right, or straight cutting varieties. It has to be a softer plastic, however; anything too brittle will simply snap.
Thanks for the tip
I find a jewler's saw works really good for cutting such plastics. Especially curves.
Good to know!
@@BillMakingStuff And sorry. Ofc I meant that it works really WELL.
Drill the plastic with a holesaw, there are various sizes, could get them from screwfix, loving the, ah work !
Yes! Watching you bring a piece of iconic video game history to life was awesome!
Ps. I flipped a coin, your video was tails, Studson Studios was heads... it landed on tails. 🙂
Thank you! Glad you liked it
I'd suggest a coping saw on the plastic bauble (used for scribing skirting boards and the like). They're fine-toothed so it should give a relatively clean cut, and would allow you to cut curves.
Hilarious video!
Thank you! I'll look into it
Its as good as the Metroid amiibo that came out alongside Metroid Returns, but your's lights up!
thanks!
Lol “my studdy buddy” sent me. Nice build and very fun video.
Thank you
Appreciate you having a watch
3:38 "Meta Knight from Kirby's adventure" proceeds to show a fan sprite of Dark Meta Knight from Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
I love your "fuck you," trolly persona you have for these videos. Very entertaining.
For cutting a hole like that I would probably try rough cutting followed by smoothing it out with an 80 grit sanding drum.
Suggestion on how to cut plastic like that, use a drill and move it sideways. Work pretty good!
Great job btw, looks awesome!
Thank you and thanks for the tip
To cut perfect circles on plastic spherical objects try reversing a compass (pencil point in the middle). It takes time and a bit of practice but it normally comes out clean.
I loved this! I'm now a subscriber. I look forward to more!
I think a good sanding on all the cuts of the clear plastic ball followed with a coating of clear acrylic high gloss spray would fix the edges.
Absolutely brilliant Bill. Feel free to come stash your junk at my place anytime. We can drink milk and melt plastic till the sun comes up!
Yes please!
For cutting holes in the plastic I’d be going with a hole saw. The ones plumbers use for drilling holes in cupboards for pipe work. If the toothed ones are too fierce, then the ceramic tile cutting ones might work too.
👍🏼👍🏼
I know I'm a little late, but a jewelers saw or a piercing saw would be perfect for cutting out a rounded section in that plastic
For cutting plastic you will want to cut vertical lines using a rotary tool till it looks like the teeth of a comb. Then proceed to break those bits off and sand them down using a sanding bit, sanding block, or sanding paper. whatever suits your fancy. Hope this helps!
yep
I can't tell you how much I adore the bee sound you use. I recognised it immediately and it made it smile so much. 🐝
Man, always love a great collab! Hoping maybe you and all of your lads will do a big one one day. Another epic build, super inspiring, and already excited for the next video
Thank you very much... maybe one day... ill have some lads
Cut with a Dre-Mel…with a cutting disc…or use a dre-mel with a sanding barrel and sand it round….
The collab I have been waiting my whole life (since you announced it last week) for. Love your build and the lighting, really felt the struggle with trying to cut plastic cleanly- do tell if you end up figuring it out. Hope Studson got home safe!
You HAVE been waiting your whole life... you just didn't know it. Didn't figure it out but I dont care anymore... leaving the plastic behind. Thank you for your continued support! And studson's mum... or mom picked him up eventually
Covering in masking tape to prevent cracking, Pilot drilling and using a fine toothed hole saw is what id use to cut a hole in that plastic ball or pretty much anything
I would think a Dremel tool with a sanding drum on it possibly, a coarse one could get your basic design out and then go in and do final work with your fine sanding drum. That is worked for me in the past with plastics that you can't melt, score or cut with other means. Great production of your videos and awesome build as always!
Thanks for the advice! And thanks for watching!
You need to get a Dremel for cutting.
I do
A cheap little electric nail file set should sub in for a real dremel if you only need it for thin plastics like this. Love your humor style, the end product looks great, I'm subscribing for more :)
Great idea!
Try using a hollow ring drill bit with fine teeth. I had a similar problem trying to cut circles into a sphere. Clamp down the circles using some sort of padding like foam or towels. I got a kit with multiple ring diameters and teeth size for different types of mats.
2 ways to cut plastic balls. A thin miter saw or scoring with a knife where you need it to break and then snap off. If you think you'll break to much, cut small section at a time.

thanks for the tips. I finally got my Dremel out so should be ok next time.
So creative. I love it. Makes me nostalgic for a game I've never even played.
Thank you!
A small hacksaw can do wonders with plastic. They probably have them at Poundland...or Dollar Tree as we say on this side of the pond.
Adding the Metroid veins, to make the Metroid veinier
well it did didnt it
My guess is use a cheap dremel tool to cut the plastic. Never done it before myself though...
Awesome work, one of my favorite games too.
I do have one... hidden away somewhere. Thanks
This was such an awesome collaboration and you used lots of items I never even considered crafting with so thank, you 😄 and the best way I can think of for cutting that sort of plastic is a cheap rotary tool. Start by using a disk cutter to roughly cut out the shape then a drum sander to even out the edges and if you scratch that kind of acrylic you can polish them out with a mild abrasive like toothpaste or baking soda. Then if the plastic is cloudy after that you can flame polish it to restore the shine 😄
Great advice. Thank you!
hello bill from bill making stuff, a tip for making holes in hard plastic! Press the the tip of a hot glue gun on the plastic to melt a small hole and continue to make it bigger untill it’s how you like it! Hope this helps :]
Bill I must say, you are looking absolutely stunning for a 76 year old englishman. Must be Studson's moisturizer.
Works great as a peeling face mask
Awesome collab and build. 2 of the best bashers and comedians on YT!
Thank you very much!
This is a little late but I think maybe an electric nail file with diamond bits could work in cutting plastic like that.
that looks so cool tho
also your voice makes me feel sleepy lol
That good?
For cutting the plastic, maybe drill holes along the lines and then just cut what's left?
Definitely a dremel (or similar rotary tool) with a cutting disc for plastic like that. Not the absolute cleanest cut, but it roughs it out way quicker, and then you can use the time you saved on the cutting step to sand it down. The Dark Power did some scratch built mechs and used a similar plastic sphere, you might pick up some strategies there.
Thanks for the tip
This channel deserves more views....
thanks for saying
American Prodigy of Puns meets British Duke of Dry Self-Deprecation.
What the British are best at.
I follow Zan Von Zed (a polymer clay artist). A couple of weeks ago, there was a monster bash which they participated in. That opened up a whole new area of UA-cam for me. I'm not sure if I found Studson through that or the recommended but I did. Then from there to here. New sub from me! Love your sense of humor and creativity. You guys are hilarious and inspiring.
Yeah do like the monsterbash... maybe one day
You could maybe try a hole saw drill bit, it might be a little to harsh on brittle plastic but if it works you'll get a prtty fine even circular hole.
A Dremel with one of those cylindrical sanding bits or perhaps you could attach sandpaper to a dowel or something to work with a high power drill something close to the size of hole you want so that you can work fast without heating up everything
Sounds like good advice. Thanks
The warping all over the place and aversion to sun made me think of the Lighthouse film for some reason, but a *little less* maniacal rampage. Great build again! Can’t wait to see more :)
yeah, I kind of like The lighthouse...
You just need a Dremel tool Bill. A cutting disc will do the job, I use them all the time.
I need a job haha! then the dremel will come.
10:05 aaah, the trusty pound shop. Endless source of affordable craft supplies, poor quality chocolate and novelty loo rolls.
what else do you NEED?
Lol that intro!
What about a dremel cutter or ? bit to cut plastic?
This is my new favorite channel, oh my gosh. Your voice is so relaxing to listen to and you're so creative, your video's are a joy to watch :D
Thank you very much!
Great video! You're editing is next level, must take an age but it's very well worth it! Awesome build.
Thank you mate!
There's a thing called a hole saw Bill for cutting holes in things , l used it for a project l did for college, l made a flying saucer type thing , l used it to cut the porthole windows out, works well you can get different size hole saws aswell , .... l did get a bit carried away , and cut holes in the top of an antique coffee table.... Errr sorry great aunt Mable .....
Always love a collab but when 2 great crafters get together it makes it all the better, also for cutting the hard plastic bauble I use a set of hole saw bits in a standard combi drill. Dewalt do a good set in a range of sizes, just make sure to use a drill bit in the middle of it so the hole saw doesnt move about
More great advice. Thanks
its's been a hot minuet since this vid was released but with those Christmas bobbles
for cutting maybe a Dremel at a low speed or a bowl of boiling water to soften the plastic
Awesome build!
My go to for that type of plastic is a dremel with a cutoff wheel. You may need to run it at a higher rpm but I’ve found it’s a great tool for working through that plastic.
Thanks for the tips!
Jewelers saw or a coping saw would be ideal for the plastic.
I would suggest using a Dremel to cut out the bits of plastic I find it works fairly well.
Thanks
Genuine talent, shared with the World deserves accolades. Your thoughts Bill?
sure
i've had luck with a rotary tool for cutting plastic. it will melt the plastic if you have it running too fast though
@Bill making stuff only just came across a video of yours and watched a few!! Deffinatly like what I have seen this far..
I'm one of those older fellas too... So I deffinatly don't miss all the really good stuff that might go over the heads of many !!
But in that note wondered if you had ever heard of the Craftsman (Steady Crafting). Just think you guys are crazy similar but still very different !! But could see you guys doing some great stuff together in colabs !!! Just my 3¢. ..
Thanx for making you videos and sharing them with all of us !!

@@BillMakingStuff Well after I posted my comment, I thought what a stupid question!! Like of course you know about him and his channel... Duh!! Who doesn't know, right?!?!

like back story, other things you interested, frames of reference etc. Oh all stuff you have put out there yourself.... Not like more info in a creepy stalker way !!
Well that good fellow is my que to stop while I'm ahead!!

Masking tape the area, Mark it up and I guess use a power tool if you're so inclined. If you need a glossy edge just heatgun it carefully after sanding.
good tips, thanks

I like the character dichotomy in this episode! Very silly lol.
You don't want to get paint and glue on your baubles; unless you are in to that sort of thing.
Really enjoyed this one, love the build and the banter with studson 😁

glad you like it
awesome vid. really look forward to these. smiled the entire time.
Thank you!
Amazing. I get told not to hoard all kinds of bits and cardboard she can be hurtful. I did get to laugh as some gift wrap roll tubes I hid in closet fell on her head.

The wife bit was good.
jagged blades for surgical scalpel work well on carving plastic work well
Nice dentures. Loved the kids input!
To cut plastics, I heat up a craft knife blade with a lighter..
Would a grinding or sanding wheel on a Dremel work for putting holes in plastic?
Great video, i loved the editing and humour. You could possibly improve the sound levels? I had to turn the video up to hear it and then the ads were very loud! I came here from studs and will definitely be watching more
you have a very lovely voice!! you could totally voice act or record audio books. very entertaining video, great work!
If you say so...
5:30 Dremel and sanding band maybe?
never knew this collab would happen! nice!

It turned out really cool! Also, yay, a British craft channel! It's such a pain in the UK when North American channels get stuff from the dollar tree etc and their actually good craft stores, so it's great to have some British inspiration, I better go find and hoard myself some of those Poundland lights... ☺️
