I know some people don't get the Pub Landlord character but I find him incredibly funny. Al Murray is such an intelligent man he can turn anyone around.
AL Murray is a really good comedian. When he was talking about the Queen and the national anthem it reminds me of something Norman Wisdom (another great British Comedian RIP) said to HRH Prince Phillip. Norman was at Buckingham Palace to receive an O.B.E. or M.B.E. He was stood talking to Prince Phillip when a trumpet suddenly blasted out. Norman turned to Prince Phillip and asked "what was that for?" Prince Phillip replied "It's the Queen" to which Norman Wisdom replied "she plays is very well." some other celebrities that were there confirmed the story is true and made Prince Phillip laugh.
Hi guys , I just want to explain the character of "the pub landlord " by Al Murray , he tries to play the quintessential British pub landlord ,who when you think of it has to a vast knowledge on every subject in the world due to the different customers and different conversations that he must have with those customers everyday ! Although in reality the said landlord might not actually have a clue about any of it ! Al Murray plays it brilliantly as the traditional British pub landlord that is probably stuck in the times of 60s and 70s Britain when we were holding on to our reputation as a force in the world ! Mostly a force for good and decency , of good spirit and fair play ! Cheers guys Mike from the UK 🇬🇧
He once did a gig in my local, my girlfriend at the time came in halfway through his set, she asked who’s he, I said he’s the pub landlord she said it’s amazing he runs this place and does comedy as well, my mates laugh so hard 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I cannot wait until you guys get to watch his new stuff. Went to see the new "Landlord of Hope and Glory" show at the Bristol Hippodrome on Monday evening and he was *utterly* *superb*.
he's the great, great, grandson of William Makepiece Thackeray who wrote 'Vanity fair' a classic novel - and in real life is posh as fuck and went to Oxford (I think) and has masters degree in history. The landlord character is an act. It's still brilliant, and I love you two chaps for bothering.

If and when you guys make it to the UK, let's make sure you get to see him live. And definitely sit somewhere in the first three rows. Classic from Bristol this time last week: one of the audience members (bloke called Clive) tweeted during the intermission that he'd managed to avoid getting picked on despite his near-the-front choice of seat. Al Murray read the tweet and was *relentless* with Clive in the second half of the show. Utterly hilarious.
Guys, Friday night I'm off to see him, live, on his new tour......curry, lots of beer and Al Murray, what could be better!! Front row too, so expecting to get roasted. All the best guys, would be great to see some photos/ video of your weddings. Congrats again👍👍👍

I would recommend "Al Murray, here to help in Paris" where he´s off his home turf, playing to a mix of British immigrants and French people who know nothing about him.
You also have to realsie...he’s supposed to be a bit drunk or has been drinking a lot as that’s what a pub landlord is portrayed as doing...which is why he sleer’s his words as well...👍🏻🇬🇧
Yes dream jobs - I am an artist, 70 miles from Paris with my own studio. You have to learn to live with solitude and people thinking you are either deluded or insane. No, it sucks too.
