I notice the Wayfayrer chilli meal is listed as 381 calories. Tasted good, but did it fill you up? You're a big strong bloke, and would two of the meals be better? Just wondered.
I had that and the pudding, plus a hot chocolate and biscuit. It made me comfortable. Not too full, not hungry. I was just about right after a big walk and drive and busy day. I had also eaten well earlier in the day off camera whilst wondering around Ambleside.
What a beautiful location. How far a drive is it from your home? Your tent is very cozy and roomy Would you every put up a larger tarp that covers your tent and makes a cooking area if you know it’s going to rain? You know it’s damp when the slugs want to come in! Room service in front of your tent..what a guy! Great video and take care ❤️ 🇨🇦
Thanks Sue the Gateway to the Dales is about 20 miles from our house but covers a very very large couldmt tell you exactly without looking how far that spot was. Have you a video with the ionosphere and the tarp over it? I have a 3×3 tarp and thinking of getting the ionosphere and wondering what the best set up would be for wind and rain conditions. Thanks in advance. Imelda
Hi Oscar - I’ve been looking for a new tent and read numerous reviews of the Ionosphere. How did you find it on this particular? Did you get wet in the tent all either from rain, condensation or through inadvertently sleeping in contact with the fly of the tent. How do you find the ventilation? Being dry in the tent is top of priorities as I’ll be bikepacking and touring in Scotland. Finally have you used this tent in the snow and winter months? Sorry fo all the questions. Thanks Martin

Yeah hes hot a second lease on life at the moment. . Mick got his stove out for a brew but pot was too small for the 3 of us so Dan chucked his I didn't take the neoprene sleeve of an incompatible stove. Completely my fault
Looks a stunning spot mate, even the rain cant take that away. Does the wind get under the ionosphere and make it cold at night ? Tempted to trade my dutch bivvy for one. All the best. 👍🏻
Slugs are nutritious. 1) Fried Slugs - Scald the slugs in boiling water for two minutes. Dredge them in egg, and then in bread crumbs. Deep fry in oil until golden brown, and serve while hot. 2) Classic Escargot - Let your snails purge themselves in a container of damp lettuce for 24 hours. Bring one cup of water or white wine to a boil in a large saute pan, and pour in 2 cups of snails. As the liquid boils off and the snails begin to cook, add one stick of butter to the pan and several cloves of minced garlic. Saute for 3-4 minutes and serve. 3) Slug Stir-Fry - In a wok or a skillet, fry some of your favorite veggies with a few ounces of oil, add a couple handfuls of blanched slugs, and season with soy sauce to taste. ** 4) Pasta with Slugs** - Fry several handfuls of slugs in a buttered skillet and add them to your favorite pasta sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes. Fold in your pasta and serve. 5) Backwoods Boil - Boil the slugs or snails in water for 10 minutes, with whatever seasonings you can find. Wild onion and other strong flavors are a solid choice. Eat as a soup, or simply pick out the mollusks and eat them.

Now they are nice n fat - In the case of a slug - cut off the head first to kill the slug, then simply hold the body and squeeze downwards, bit like milking a cow, and the entrails will squirt out. [you could also cut open and remove] Mr Slug will shrink quite a bit now but is ideal to chop up into bite sized pieces and then added to a stew, or even roasted over an open fire. If you have some old breadcrumbs and an egg, then cover in that mixture for some tasty deep fried slugs. For a snail, it's preferable to steam them for 10 minutes first, this kills them and cooks their entrails as well. Once steamed, simply cut open along their belly section and remove the cooked entrails - you could actually eat these entrails now, but the flavour could be a little suspect as you do not know what the snail has just been eating before you captured it..!
