Shipping batteries, especially LiPos like the one in the buwizz, is a huge pain. As much as I would love better Lego battery packs, it is a lot easier and cheaper for Lego to just do "batteries not included".

Great review of the BuWizz 3.0. I'll still hold on to my 2.0 for a while as i use PF motors predominantly, but i like having an option later on when i get some PU sets.
One small gripe i have about the video is the too long transitions. Great animation and fonts, they just last a few seconds too long.

Pu connector could allow the possibility to cascade by cable several Buwizz hubs if there is a way to code the uart port in a open source environment and language similar to Python (following Lego Spike Prime hub idea using usb-c/ Bluetooth) and save it on its internal memory, we could increase the number of ports or integrate external microcontroller boards and actuators/sensors specifically for education/makers environment. Also there are today available cable adapters from the powerup to pf connector, and viceversa; so we could think this device as a 6 port hub backwards compatible with pf motors ... and hopefully if Buwizz tech team decides it, programable.

  • @pangniadek
    @pangniadek 3 роки тому +3

You admit that, unfortunately, under our Polish conditions, PLN 680 is a large amount for an 'addition' to Lego.
It's a pity that only 2x PF, I have a lot of motors and for now I will stay with SBricks with a battery converted to 11.1V Li-PO.
It's nice that you showed the RPM comparison.

    • @HvV8446

Im also using a pf aa pack converted to lipo, but do you use a battery protection circuit, or have you just soldered the 2 wires to the 2 wires of the board in the power pack?

Converted the PF cable (extension cord) to 'PF plug' 'MiniTamiya' (RC standard and old ASG). I did (+) to (+) and (-) to (-) and the middle two of the Lego Wire are empty. As far as I know, SBrick has a protection itself, I use a 7.2V LiPo battery and a 11.1V LiPo battery.
See the constructions on my profile, the adapter is characterized by thick Black / Red wires and a fairly large white plug (I have to convert to a smaller t-connect - a newer ASG standard).
      >SBrickPlusMiniConstruction
      >HowerBoard psybot

It's super interesting. And thats true for Polish conditions its too expensive. Even Sbrick is now expensive.
Nowadays lego 88009 battery hub (smaller one) is less expensive than Sbrick.
I started to think, do this lego hub also have battery protection circut?
It would be great to do it by myself, battery for it. But im a noob in this things.

Have you tried comparing the Control+ L and XL motors using the BuWizz 3.0? I think the XL motor may be limited by the lego technic hub, which is why it doesn't appear to be any more powerful than the L motor when powered by the technic hub.

Like can you control multiple motors off 1 Buwizz brick with just ONE slider on the screen? And could you control 2 Buwizz bricks with a total of 4 motors (2 motors per brick) by using just 1 slider on the app screen to control them all?
