So I shouldn’t use Gmail for my business ?
Gmail is an email client. Its how you send and obtain email. Mailchimp is a CRM where it collects emails and does email blast for promotions.
There is no mailchimp now. How can I deal with it?

Doesnt shopify already create it for you? I have an email setup by them which is info@ and the name of my store.
Hi David. Email domains are more connected to who sold you the domain name. So if you purchased your domain with Shopify, then you can have an email domain setup by them. Mailchimp is a service to create email blast for your clients once they sign up. Its for marketing purposes. I hope this helps clairfy.
Great video thank you. Do you happen to know why my automated Final Welcome Email never get sent out when someone signed up for newsletter ? I tried sending test and that worked fine but when it comes to automated, it never worked even mailchimp status says "sending". I am using free mailchimp account which has no tech support. Does anyone know how to fix this ? Thanks.
Did you make sure that youre using a domain email address versus a yahoo or gmail address?
Rezolutions Design Thank you so much for the reply. Yes, I use domain email. My automated abandoned cart email works fine. I even tried unsubscribe and resubscribe a couple of time but still doesn’t work.
What should you do if you're setting up the email campaign after ppl opted in?
I advise you creating an automation such as a Welcome email. This automated email welcomes those who opted in and you can provide any offerings such as discounts and more. Educate them how its so beneficial and the greatness of signing up with your brand.
Okay, so i was trying to set up an automation email. However, since many has already opted in for some time now, should i use a date for automation instead of immediately ( lets say the email will go out tomorrow at 7PM)? How would that affect new people opting into the list at 8PM ? would the welcome email be one message automation or would i be able to send multiple emails to the list or should i just start a new one after the one email is executed? ( Hope that makes sense)
If I were you I would segment those who already opted in and create a small one-time email saying "late for the party" type of thing. Then moving forward all those who newly sign up get the new Welcome email from then on forward. Let me know if that makes sense?
