The pen is the main reason I like these phones. I wouldn't pay much attention to it if not for the S Pen.
I've had every note since the Note 2 and I rarely use the pen. I love having it but I'm the type of person that buys the top of the line if I'm going to spend that much anyway. It just so happens that the best phone in the world also has this capability. Love Samsung
Exatly, count me in only for the S-Pen. And still hardly any review even mentions it.
I'd rather be using a 4 year old note phone than a newer phone without an s-pen. A phone without it, is a downgrade. It's intergrated into my life
I've started art on the note 4 initially as my only drawing device.
It has all the capabilities of a higher end tablet even though it might not be something you want for very detailed art.
Still I think its the most fun drawing device of all and has its own type of comfort, like the best art you draw is the that one spontaneous doodle on a restaurant bill,
but with this you can in fact transfer it and finish it professionally, and you have an assortment of professional software on the phone itself.
No other phone interests me after having so much fun with the spen i actually became an artist.
Great video! I wish more phones had pen support as I'm a fan of smaller phones (S23).
Check out Moto and see if they have a smaller device with pen support. A lot of their devices have pen support I believe.
Great review as usual! In your personal opinion, if you had to choose between the 24 ultra or fold5, which one would you choose as an artist? Thanks!
I probably prefer S24U which I feel is more durable. It's difficult to go wrong with a classic non-folding design.
The pen looks a bit longer than the one i had in the note 10+, is it any longer than the old ones/ more comfortable?
It's long enough to be quite comfortable. So length is not an issue.
@teohontech7141 thanks.. I bought a fold 4 last year from the note 10+ and while the screen is great, the need to carry an extra pen or huge bulky cases are a major draw back so am thinking of going back to a s23 or s24.
Hi great review. Have you had a look at the Book4 Pro 360 laptop. It's really good for drawing and design.
I have not tried that and probably won’t be able to review it since Samsung does not sell the series here in Singapore
@teohontech7141 Oh ok fair enough. I always find that Samsung pen input software/hardware is among the best in the laptop 2 in 1 systems. I have tested a Zenbook, Ipad and a few other laptop convertibles, and none of them can match the accuracy and feel of the Book4, S9 Ultra and even my old S23 Ultra's pen input.
You didn't mention if you could contour lines with this phone.
Thank you, Teoh! I have the Note 8 with (roughly) the same or similar pen. Sadly, Samsung has scrapped the capacity for an extra storage card.
Note 20 was the last with an sd card slot
At least Samsung's storage upgrade isn't as expensive as Apple
I too hate the removal of the SD storage slot.
512 gb is more than enough even if you are heavy camera user. Just drawing doesent take up nearly as much space.
To be fair, the microsd card actually has a lot of problems. It can get overheated, has less power efficiency, and the lifespan isn't that great either. It used to not be a problem with slow speed SoC, but modern smartphones are too fast to use slow speed storage. Even usb c ports are faster than most microsd cards, and the internal storage has the same speed as ssd.
You holding that tiny pen next to the grates gives le so much anxiety
I came looking for this comment bc same
Id like to see something similar to the S24 Ultra... but with a different aspect ratio... why cant we have a phone with a 3:2 aspect ratio? I want a squarish phone with a 6in screen and S pen support.
There's already Samsung Galaxy Fold series and Oneplus Open.
Galaxy fold are close to 4:3 or you could look into the surface duo, they are 3:2 and also have surface pen compatibility
A double tap of the home button shrinks the screen so you can use it one handed.
Not just S pen support. There's a big difference in cameras between the ultra and the others.
Does the S24 Ultra default S Pen is having soft tip or hard tip?
Soft
What's the drawing app you're using?
Concepts
So there is no longer note, just s ultra?
Yes
All the notes are good phone, but I prefer drawing on the Samsung tab s7
