Love this look! Mine will have to be a little longer…But Wow! Big fan of your channel Catherine, Thank You for all you do. So good at teaching Technique & SEW INSPIRING❤
Love watching your videos. I had a disastrous sewing class in middle school and hated the thought of sewing. During a tight income spot I needed nighties for my 2 little girls. A dear friend 700 miles away said to make them from a set of pink sheets given to my girls. She talked me through the process. The girls loved their nighties so much I made another set for them. It was a great experience and I've sewn everything including the girls prom dresses & wedding gowns--at their request! What a compliment. I done so much sewing. I've altered things for friends & now I'm going to check out thrift stores because you do amazing things. Keep inspiring people who love sewing!
Catherine that " coin pocket" was originally designed as a "watch pocket" way back when. They could attach the pocket watch chain to a belt loop. This is a cute project, albeit a bit young for my style. You rock it though!🎉
Thanks for giving me the joy of sewing again. I was a tailor at a family owned business. I had a customer who was very well known and I didn't know who he was...he is in politics. I know now and I don't promote his viewpoints in politics. Again...thank you
I love these! I want to make skort now for one of my vacation outfits! Thank you for the awesome idea! I just love your videos and that you share pattern making! 🪡🧵
OMG…I saw the same video and fell in love with the skort and wondered how I could upcycle one for myself! THANK YOU for the detailed tutorial! It’s such a fun piece and looks fabulous on you. ♥️♥️♥️
Love this skirt and going to look for some jeans! I’m in envy that you can find such great thrifts. Either I’m shopping at the wrong time or just need more patience and practice.
Love, love, love it! So funny, I saw her on TikTok too and thought how cute that skort was! I’ve been wanting to up cycle something into a skort! This may work! Thanks!😊
Oh i used to make skorts in the 80s 90s it was two pieces and a band on each that carried on to ties in front and back, but i can't find it anywhere lol i think ill make from memory
Love this idea. Going to try it. Would you consider doing a video about adding a stretch waist to jeans or shorts. My waist is the same as my hips. I have one pair of shorts with like a hidden elastic. It looks like a regular waistline but it stretches. When I put elastic in waist of pants I look like a bubble butt. These shorts don’t look that way. Thanks.
When I was growing up and The was a thing I thing we called skort. This was way back in the times when girls didn't wear pants! It was a modest length for let shirts with a flat in the front and back that concealed the fact that it was shorts. And then the 'coulots' .I know that's not spelled correctly. It looked like a skirt but more like wide legged capris. I could wear those again!
The regret, cutting the waist band. Make a sample first. When I'm doing a project I make a sample first. I draw &cut mini pattern pieces from a sheet of paper needed to get my learning curve done before my project is started. I learned this step in fashion design school. I noticed you opened the side seam up, it would have been easy to replace the ripped piece of the pocket area using the extra fabric. Using a skirt was perfect for your project.

Oh, oh, oh 😮, I am in love. You're so clever. This has gotten my head really thinking. Wonderful, and thank you, Catherine

So Cute!! Both you and the skirt!!
You need to use sashiko mending on the hole! I love your previous video on sashiko mending of some jeans.
I was a little bit not liking this until the end when you make the skirt part shorter. Now I love it!

That is such a cute upcycle! I wonder that you didn’t just sew on the button side of the skirt placket? Either way it’s awesome.
Awesome!
Love this! Thx!
So excited
You're Awesome!
I think you should wear that really narrow red belt (that you got with a shirt) with it!
Here to partake of your obsession!
Haha, thank you my friend! It’s cute, right!?
@@CatherineSews Everything you do is cute!

Awesome !! But I am struggling with a dress : I would like to transfer it to another dress I have. Problem : how to transfer the breast darts ?
That’s so scute 😂🌈🌻🌺🌹👍🏾
Looks get on you 😊
You say she’s half your age?? And she’s that for me, plus she’s twice my height!!😂
Haha, ya, that too! And truth be told, she’s probably less than half!
You could have replace the pocket and added some more waist band
OK, anyone “obsessed” anything on Yiktok is WAY too immature for me, and I’m that old.
