Hey Dan, Dean from Penticton here. My brother lives in Olalla and we went up to a spot with (much higher than you were judging by the last shot looking down) his quad (accessible by truck) to a mine with tailings and mine shaft that goes in quite a ways and it’s got steel rails for carts going into it. The usual for that area, copper/pyrite/magnetite/quartz. Pretty cool place....
Hi Dan I live in Eastern Oregon my name is James I heard u say something about copper I found what I think is copper its about 30 feet round sticks up about 4 to 8 inches I don't have a clue how far it goes under the ground and not far from there is a quartz vain its 10 to 14 inches wide and goes up about 15 maybe 20 feet but I've never been up on top to see whare it went both are awesome to see my friend would prospect around the area. This was an awesome video Dan and Dayna...You have yourself an awesome spot to explore and prospect...Some of the old workings may even have salvage which could be repurposed into a new generation of mining equipment...from those metal components on the old ore shoots to that tank...maybe...That crush pile looks like a good days dig and run through your crusher and Icon I150 unit. And if I recall some of my reading about forestry and their adit closing ops, sometimes they remove the waste piles from closed mine mouths to hide the location from casual exploration and non authorised re-opening by the curious treasure seeker. Maybe part of what makes finding that adit dfficult there...and that one ore shoot with the cement like foundation looks interesting...it could be an adit opening under the sluffed in part. As you know some mines did link those things in series. So it might be worth poking under in that hole to see if it is more than just a void beneath a shoot table...Lovely spot. It was awesome to see both of you out prospecting for the day and video, you have yourself a lovely prospecting partner and are blessed that she likes to join you out afield. Not many prospecting men are so lucky...All those samples of various rocks gave me an Idea...You enjoy educating and have many claim spots which yield many different samples of various stone, rock, ore, and minerals. You could easily make up sample identification kits with samples and descriptions. Maybe get in touch with the boys from 911 prospecting and mining on a colaberation project for both your respective youtube channels, and trade samples between one another so both groups can produce as complete mineral, rock, stone, gems, and ore sample kits as possible. All strictly British Columbia sample materials. Education sample Identification kits of local B.C. materials...good kits to send to schools. to sell for augmenting your youtube channel's budgets...and the odd kit for give aways to your Patreons and viewers/ subscribers. Just thought I'd put the proverbial bug in your ear about such an idea. And until your next adventure filled video...Bye 👍.
Thanks Dan for another great video. I really enjoy watching your videos. I have yet to do any on site panning or anything. I have been buying pay dirts from various sellers. Thanks again, I really feel I am learning something by watching your videos.

thanks for watching
Thanks Wayne - you've given me a lot to think about. You've got some great ideas there.
