- Wood Bros and MacGregor classic persimmon collection. Clubs of the past that still perform and shine ! I have a few in this collection that were played by Hall of Fame PGA tour players from the 1980s. Hope you enjoy seeing these clubs can inspire you to get out there and play and find something that you enjoyed to hit in this great game of golf a game that you can play for a lifetime. Fred couples played an M 85 like the one in this video and if you look closely you’ll see a Club that was made for Ben Crenshaw in one played by Tom Kite and one made for Steve Elkington.

very nice🎉
Fantastic video! Thanks so much! Beautiful clubs!
Thank you
Absolutely gorgeous collection….. In a perfect world one big pro tour event each and every year year should be played with Persimmon only woods..
Today’s generation cannot appreciate these! These classic McGregor persimmon Woods, where the grain meets right at the very tip of the toe. Along with the amazing creative classic inserts.
Fabulous collection! Truly exceptional clubs with great history. Thanks very much for sharing.
Thanks for sharing Fred!
Wow Fred! Simply awesome. Can not wait to see more. Thanks
Wow :) what a nice collection.
I have quite some persimmons my self but I don't knew to much about them. I do play the same Cleveland Ben Crenshaw as you have. But I have a different shaft, mine has the H.E.T. Is there anything you can tell me about that club?
I just love it, I´m ripping it. It almost match my modern Callaway. When in Scotland it out drives the new one :)
Some great old “playable classics” back in the day till about mid / late 1980’s before technology came out. I think Taylor Made and their metal woods / burner series started the demise of the classic persimmons.
Barry Jaeckle… I’m sure the spelling is incorrect. However, his father was an actor I believe. Wartime movies.
Thats probably true, I knew Barry grew up in the lime light , around Riviera CC too.
