I used to have an underbite , luckily my dentist saw it early and I got a very VERY early treatment (braces at nine years old) and it actually was ruining my teeth! Even though I was the youngest person with braces at my school I am sooo thankful bc I don’t have and underbite anymore

I have braces right now and I have an underbite. But my dentist extracted two teeth from my bottom teeth. So I'm guessing the 6 teeth that are straighten at the bottom will be pushed back( with the elastic a) so I can bite correctly right?? And so my top teeth can be over the bottom teeth?? I'm so sad j don't want an under bite :( Anyways thanks Doctor! :))

did they let you get braces for under bite at 15? or did they let you wait until your 18, because ive had an under bite for a while now at age 15 and they dentist haven’t done anything abttt it.
@@zhizhi2109 yeah when I was like 15 I had some. Nobody explained the retainer. I assumed it was a short term thing. I now have TMj problems because of it. Best to wait till your jaw has fully stopped growing then can see if need jaw surgery or braces alone can fix this. There are newer treatment options that just move lower teeth back and not the lower jaw and does not involve lower jaw surgery- speak to your orthodontist more about this.
That's interesting I had this the dentist always told me I had to wait until I was older until I stopped growing as only surgery can fix this they completed wasted my time for years and didn't even give me the right treatment, I'm now doing the treatment independently with the elastics for two years and then veneers to align the bite, if they had of told me this from the start it would have saved me so much trouble I honestly despise dentist at this point there the worst they keep talking in such medical terms and fail to consider the person never going back there again NHS have the worst care. 💥
I am underbite and my doctor suggested that I should have palette expander and jaw positioning. Is it good or bad or I really need to undergo jaw surgery?
My daughter is 11. 5 years old.. And i am saving money.. Can i start the treatment at age 12. 5 . After one year. Will it be treatable? She has underbite. Her lower jaw comes forward when she is chewing.. But she can smile with the front upper and lower teeth meeting..
Yes, use braces and push all the teeth back (including the jaws) so the patient ends up getting forms of TMJ later on in their life. Good work orthodontists.
Plz explain cuz you got me worried now I have an underbite and I'm scared I might need some kind of treatment please explain what you mean about tmj and stuff

Doc clear aligner can solved my underbite
I am underbite and my doctor suggested that I should have palette expander and jaw positioning. Is it good or bad or I really need to undergo jaw surgery?
It’s a lot more cheaper than surgery. Basically they place expanders in the top of your mouth to make your teeth spread out and align with the bottom.

Trollo Brine tmj makes your jaw click and causes discomfort whenever you open your mouth.
Gemini I don’t think that information is valid I heard it is caused by a rip in the cartilage
