It wasn't over acting at all. This was the culmination of a great murder mystery. The tension built up over a considerable amount of time. Ginny's outburst here is totally consistent with the stress that built up during Robert and Holly's investigation.
Absolutely not overacting. From Ginny’s point of view, her happy life with Rick/Mikey and her TV career was over, and she’d rot in prison for the rest of her life. Judith was incredible
Rick forgave Ginny for what she did and they got back together. Ginny got off for self-defense for the murder of Brock and did community service for trying to frame Bobbie (yep, only on a soap). Rick and Ginny had a baby and left town. Then years later they brought Rick back and it was indicated that Rick and Ginny split and they completely changed Rick's character to something you'd never recognize.
And she wasnt even nominated?? Thats ok hard to take emmys seriousley when kate mulgrew...illene davidson not even nominated...and beverley mkinzey or victoria whyndom never won...yet susan lucci ...for emmy ratings was a joke nomination for close to 2 decadez...
