This is before Jim had seen Walter.
Jim managing Walter would be gold.
The build was great!!!! Then....”Joe Leduc”.....99%of the audience: “Wha...WHO!?”
Anyone who doesn't know who Jos Leduc is shouldn't be allowed to call themselves a wrestling fan. Sports entertainment fan? Sure. But not a wrestling fan.
Was Joe Leduc in the Midnight Express?
I was guessing Bruiser Brody or Macho Man until he said Joe
Just the Gen Ys and Zoomers were like Wha, Who?
Big E "Who? Who?"
I was thinking modern day when he teased it. I went straight to Walter
Douglas Hall absolutely
If only Walter was rougher looking
Nah lack of star power for Walter I'm afraid, I can't think of anyone in wrestling today that has the same kind of vibe as Jos LeDuc, big raw bone rough looking guy with a massive personality! Difference is though, Cornette's plan wouldn't work as LeDuc would put up with today's bullshit, he'd probably end up killing some mother fucker!
Point would be to make a new star
@@douglashall381 can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit! Actually listen to what Jim and Brian are saying, most guys now days just don't have "it" and the ones that do are destroyed by 50/50 booking.
I'd LOVE to see Corny back in the game.
Wanted to like this comment but it’s already at 69...
@@joshmay2944 that's fair.
@@joshmay2944 he aint 69
@@DUFFYISBACK he wasn't talking about Cornette's age lol
Prime Shamrock vs Lesnar would be good as a smaller but still legit fighter babyface vs the legit but simply bigger heel in lesnar
I agree!
Dan Severn in his Prime vs Brock would have been cool also.
Jumbo Incredible I hear Frank Mir is going into pro wrestling - the guy is almost as big as Lesnar + he and Brock have a win over eachother in MMA. Huge rivalry in the ufc
Cornette wanted to do a 'rubber match' angle between Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock as a callback to their encounters in UFC. That would've drawn money.
Make it a Lions Den match that be Epic!
Love Corny's stories just like Uncle Chael's in MMA but Leduc was an ex-provincial cop and martial artist. Used to see him at the gym where I worked in late 80's, nicest guy in the world.
Lol vlada are u here too 😎
I was thinking Bruiser Brody, that guy was just shoot scary.
Same.
Completely agree with Cornette here 👍🏻
Stan Hansen and Vader are two more scary guys.
I think Dan the beast Severn would be great he's basically the earlier version of Brock both MMA world champions and worked MMA and wrestling together. Neither one of them need to talk that's what Jim and Paul e would be doing.
Brusier Brody would've been an incredible pick. Others brought up in the responses above are good too.
I honestly thought he was going to say another believably-scary nutjob, Nailz. lol
More importantly, I need table for three with Corny, Heyman and Bruce Pritchard.
As good as it would be, I'd consider trading Bruce for Bischoff or Vince (McMahon, not Shitstain)
@Zedrik Allen If Vince Russo was there, they'd need Brock Lesnar and Haku around to keep them from killing each other.
@Zedrik Allen You so get it! 🤣😂🤣
I love all of his ideas I do but I think this is a case where even his fantasy booking could not match how it all began. Having The Brain mark out during his debut...... Holy ****!!! How.... How do you top that? How do you say hold my beer to answer that?.... I just don't know.
Corny, shit stain and Johnny Ace/ Easy E
Then a squad of anti riot cops to separate them, but mostly keep Corny from killing Shit stain😂😂😂
Stupid, but the art gave me the idea of Cornette managing Stu Hart. The stories of Stu making grown men cry is enough to scare anybody.
Stu was definitely one of the more legit badasses ever to grace the squared circle...It was said if you graduated from the Dungeon you were ready for anything in the Wrestling Business...
Sure Bret has told the story before, when he was a kid, it would sound like people were being murdered in the basement
I was thinking that Jim would have said Bruiser Brody. Brody/Brock would be a brutal match that would sellout anywhere
Exactly what I was thinking too.
and if brock decided to get sloppy and start throwing bombs, brody could shut that down IMMEDIATELY
@@bladestormviking id like to see Brody throw a tantrum and no sell for Brock.
S
I was thinking Dr death Steve Williams
Leduc was nuts look up the promo when he breaks a big glass ashtray on his head he hardways and then doesn't even blink when the blood goes in his eye
Since it's fantasy booking, why not bruiser Brody? I'd buy a ticket to see him fight Lesner
Is he a cosplay wrestler?
He would either work very well with Brock, or he would try to take liberties and then proceed to get f*cked up.
Brody was my guess
Didnt Brian Last mention Brody in this and Jim Cornette said he wasn't quite as complete a package as Jos LeDuc was?
I could listen again and confirm that myself but that's what I remembered.
A couple of people I would have thought of for that idea with Jim cornette managing a program against Brock Lesnar would have been either, Bruiser Brody, Big Van Vader, or In his prime Rick Steiner.
This artwork had me thinking Neidhart. #ripanvil
Ha, same here and I was wondering how it was going to work... Neidhart as a Main-eventer vs. Lesnar? Weird.
Jos Leduc and King Tonga (Meng) were terrifying here in Montreal. We had no idea what an impact they had elsewhere.
Imagine being in a bar and seeing LeDuc and Haku coming at you.
"I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay!" 😆
AEW tag team champs: a Lumberjack and his Blue Parrot.
I sleep all night and I work all day.
Bruiser Brody (RIP), I wish they would book Luke Harper like Brody in this modern age.
Jos LeDuc is a brilliant choice. Thanks to you I went to see the Blood Oath again on UA-cam as I hadn't seen it in a few years, but I came across a copy on UA-cam that was much better quality than I've ever seen it before. So sincerely, thank you.
The last thing I saw that was “scary” in wrestling would have been The Fiend debuting at SummerSlam, I was there and it was so unexpected with the music and severed head lantern, but that’s a different kind of scary, mainly because you know it’s not real.
Either that or a Jelly Jabba the Janela match...
I'm here after watching Jos Leduc videos, after Cornette uttered the words "Jos Leduc" .
The Revival would be perfect. One of the few current acts that Corny likes, and they are very Midnight Express as a team.
It's a pity Corny couldn't entertain an actual angle like this with someone who is alive. It would be cash money.
LMAO The Nature Boy Ric Flair of Jewish Managers. 😂😂😂
I would love to see '93 Vader with cornette against '21 Lesnar with heyman in a program. Vader was a monster back then
I was thinking Bruiser Brody.
That's who I was thinking.
*SAME*
Same
Same
Exactly who I thought he'd pick.
If you never saw Jos Leduc wrestle in your life, with such a promo from Cornette, you'd kill to see all of his matches.
I was thinking Haku. Although, I don’t think he’s dead
Anyone who thinks Cornette is out of touch should give this a listen. This shows you everything that’s wrong in the wrestling business today.
Jim Cornette's trap muscles are too impressive in that drawing lmao
I honestly thought Jim was going to say MJF
I could give two shits about Brock in 2019. I am sure many would agree with me.
Jumbo Incredible. He loves MJF and that would be an awesome pairing. Good call.
I thought he was going to say Stan Hansen.
Damn I'm sold on Joe Leduc now
From the thumbnail and Corny saying "he's dead now," I thought he was gonna say Jim Neidhart.
A great pick
Me too. A believable tough guy with a legit sport background and a chip on his shoulder.
Now that I think about it, the visual kinda suggests it.
That's what I thought from the graphic
Not that he fits any of the criteria given but I'd love to see Jim come back and manage Bobby Lashley, finally build him up to that main event level and go up against Brock and Heyman as a pair
Well you kinda got your wish
I'd have gone with Dan Severn myself, that or Dr. Death Steve Williams.
Prime Doc would have been a great choice. C
Thought of both as well. Severn looked like a legit murderer when he was in the WWF. His theme was killer.
@@Beer_Baron_ The whole entrance. Comes out with that stache, stern face, grey t-shirt with sweat on it with that music...fucking badass
Good picks. I'd go for Vader myself.
William the thing is, Severn was scary because he looked like he was someone’s dad who could legit murder you.
If JC ever did return it would have to be in AEW with the revival to take on the bucks
I want him to appear to a Joey Janella match and turn out to be his secret ally.
AEW will have to pay Jim more than the rest of the roster in order to get him to work with him and if the invisible man shows up then it's a no-deal.
Corny in AEW with his bodyguard, Big Bubba Romero. Very Big Bubba.
I'd be happy to watch a segment where he bludgeons orange Cassidy with a tennis racket. 🤣🤣🤣🙃
YES THAT’D BE SICK
I realize that Jim is creating a "fantasy bio" for Jos (French spelling, Jos for Joseph ;) ) in fact, Jos' real name was Michel Pigeon, and he was a Constable for the Quebec Provincial Police prior to Pro Wrestling, who held a black belt in Judo and could legit bench press 500 lbs (according to kayfabe brother Paul). Still according to Paul, the Jos Leduc gimmick was promoter Don Owen's idea, loosely based on the legend of Paul Bunyan. Don asked Paul if he knew of anyone who fit the bill, and Paul immediately called his friend Michel...and a legend was born! :) Incidentally, Don Owen was also behind another French Canadian Pro Wrestling Legend in Mad Dog Vachon...who would feud with Jos Leduc later on!
Lesnar vs. Leduc . A dream match I would love to see .
I remember Joe Leduc. He was one tough son. Another good one to face Lesner would have been Maurice "mad dog" Vashon.
I don't think Mad Dog would need a mouth piece. But that would be a great match.
I thought Jim was gonna say Jacob Fatu, he has said he likes Fatu
I’m more scared of Jacob Fatu than Brock
I'm more scared of haku than both of them.
@@kendyer8761 everybody is scared of haku.
@Travis j then good luck running if your in his general direction when he's pissed.
@Travis j fair point.
@@richardauthement3105 and hes a old man that wouldnt be able to do shit anymore lol
As others have said, Bruiser Brody. Followed by Stan Hansen.
When Jim said no one like him in wrestling today and is crazy I was thinking New Jack...that would be an interesting build up and match with Lesnar hahaha
New Jack would stab him.
Yeah...that would be the wrong kind of crazy
I had no idea who Joe Leduc is. Thanks Jim.
I just watch the Joe Leduc Blood Oath video. I can not think of a word to describe him.
This is why I can't wait for nwa tv. Dave Lagana and with the possibility of Jim Cornette's advice will be amazing
How'd that work out? 😂
@@cptnmrgnkid not as well as I hoped lol
Watching No Holds Barred Dunno why I liked it so much the first time LeDuc appears on my tv and I'm floored. Had to hear Corny Talk about him again.
The people could come to believe Walter could beat the shit outta Brock. Walter vs Brock could main event Wrestlemania.
Luke Harper could definitely fill that Joe Leduc niche
Not me! Maybe Walter and definitely MLW world champ Jacob Fatu
Jos LeDuc was his name.
could have, but not after wwe ruined him. he should have been a brody-like monster from the beginning.
@@thesupervisor3270 only problem with that is Fatu can talk. He definitely doesn't need a manager
The problem is WWE wants all of their wrestlers to be as accessible as other entertainers. No suspension of disbelief. That's why I like the fact that Brock us not on every week or showing up on WWENetwork shows. Brock is the only legit monster they gave. Only because they won't let the other guys be true monsters.
BAM BAM.... The Beast from the east, once again wwe ruining the career of a talented wrestler
A great wrestler with the capability of making a professional football player look somewhat decent in the ring.
Over rated he was a great mid card guy kinda like big show bam bam just wasn't a top guy he was never going to be he just didn't have the look
@@jessieb9384
How is he overrated ?
HOW !?! YOU EVEN SAID YOURSELF THAT HE WAS NEVER A TOP GUY
@@jessieb9384 huh? Bam Bam Bigelow could do cartwheels and moonsaults from the top rope when hardly anyone did that. He could talk, he had a freakin' tattooed head, and looked like a ball of fire. If you can't work with that I'm not sure what to tell you.
Ah The Beast From The East such a classic
I remember a TV promo they did in Tampa (early 70s?) with Joe Leduc pulling a city bus from a standstill. Don't care how it was done, it made him as scary as anything in the territory
Totally different subject but would really like to know what cornette thinks of the fiend gimmick
Cześć!
I mean, he despises it. He's spoken about how he hates Kane and Taker when they're being explicitly supernatural.
Dammit I was sure Cornette was gonna say Bruiser Bedlam 😆
Jos Leduc!! Never a wasted moment.
Joe Leduc one hell of a wrestler.
Well, I have now learned something new today. You don’t fuck with 1978 Joe Leduc. GOOD LORD!!!!! Dude had an ax and wasn’t afraid to use it.
I heard Bruce Pritchard say Paul Heyman is the northern version of jim cornette. But until this clip i hadn't heard cornette say the same thing
I'm going to check out Joe Leduc now. But I thought he was going to say Stu Hart.
Brock vs. a dead guy would certainly draw a ton of money
Brock vs Scott Steiner 2000
Brock vs Stan Hansen
Brock vs Vader 1993
Brock vs Bruiser Brody
Brock vs Stone Cold
Mad Dog Vachon kind of fits the bill. People forget he was an olympic wrestler for Canada
the alternatives I thought of if I owned a time machine: Buzz Sawyer. Dr Death. Dan Severn. Scott Steiner from the 90s.
Even if WWE booked Steiner better in 03 him & Brock could have had an amazing match then
Vince idea for Joe Leduc would have been called Steven 'A Man's Man' Regal. Do you agree?
If only we could get Cornette vs Heyman on TV. Both as managers obviously.
Joe Leduc. I knew that he was going to say that because he did before, Joe Leduc also did things like Lesnar does I am not a fan of today's Wrestling but I am still a fan of when it was good,
I've looked up pictures of Paul LeDuc and, good God, this guy was a brick wall with facial hair.
I could see this working with Walter from NXT UK and the Revival if you build them up as terrifying forces. Have Paul Ryan brought in for a day at WWE as a "test run", but make his only match be against Walter. Have that UK beast shoot wrestle this cosplay prick ala the Acolytes vs Public Enemy. Build a stable of top-notch wrestlers that are worlds apart from the nonsense you'd see in AEW or a Vince McMahon operated WWE. Let them tear apart the current establishment, win/unify all the belts (except NTX), and have it build up to where this will be Vince's finale before Triple H takes over. Have it happen at one of the big PPV and reveal the mastermind behind all this is Cornette himself. His Raw '97 promo is proof of his disdain for what wrestling has become. And just as the Cult of Cornette is on top, this is when Triple H emerges to challenge them as he takes control of WWE. A battle between two legends from different periods of wrestling history.
Jos Leduc... Paul Leduc was his kayfabe brother, and he was much smaller.
What about Haku (in his prime) v Lesnar, everyone has heard stories of how tough Haku was back in the day
so basically what we need is a mix of luke harper and keith lee.
who was thinking Jim was going to say Bruiser Brody ?
If the NWA is smart they’ll take every bit of advise that Corny is willing to give! I’m looking forward to seeing what studio wrestling looks like in 2019! #NWA #CultofCornette
Your new tag team champs The rock n roll express...
If they are SMART, take his wrestling advice, comes ot politics go tell him to fuck his own fat ass, bcoz his politics are for Self Loathing Commie Losers!
There’s no way I’d be taking everything Jim says as gospel in 2019. Talk to him and weed out the awful ideas he’s sure to have. But yes, he’d have good ideas too.
@@bukowskispen Why are they going to bring up politics?
Buko you know Cornette has plenty of fans who are conservatives that don't give a crap what he thinks of politics or the Republican party/Trump and just skip over/ignore that stuff, don't let it bother them and just enjoy 'tales of the territories' right? Also that he annoys nearly as many people that vote left because of his stances on political correctness and so on?
Just like how most things are never as black and white in life as people believe, Cornette's defintely shades of grey. You care enough about a subject and he's bound to eventually say something that pisses you off and it doesn't matter what direction you lean in.
I thought he'd say Pat Rose.
Being serious, Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer.
Damn I bankded on him saying he'd come back with Vader. But that's me being a Vader guy. My favorite old school bruiser.
I’m trying to remember, was this posted before Braun Strowman hit the scene because if Corny’s looking for a big, scary looking SOB, I honestly think that Strowman fits that image perfectly.
This was way after Braun was a scary monster
For the exact same reason, i would have gone Mad Dog Vachon more than Jos Leduc ! As for present talent : Walter would have been my guy for M. Cornette.
The missing link always scared me when I was a kid
I was expecting him neidhart 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If Jim ever come back. I would love to see manage the revival when thay leve wwe
Where are they going to go?
@@FreakAboutSims3 after wrestmaina
@@FreakAboutSims3 The Doctor Well, wherever the money leads them my friend! "We're in the moneyyyyy! We're in the monnneeyyyyy!" Swimming around their next contract in a pool of coins like Scrooge McDuck. But seriously- Probably join their buddies in AEW to become 'top guys' in a stacked tag division and full creative power. Who freakinggg knowwwsssssss
Jon Bones Jones!!! Fr, you put Brock in a cage w/Bones, Bones would break his neck in 30seconds. He's so scary they bench him so he would pry take a Wwe deal. He's going in the past when the guy Brock runs from is here!!!!.
I always wanted Jim to be my manager 😂
From the build up, I was thinking Chris Benoit...
I can't help but think Lars Sullivan was being geared to being the same type of character as Jos Leduc
@Daley Douglas Lars had a number of issues, some rather bad mental problems with anxiety and stuff, and even went missing for a while. He also got a bad knee injury (which is why he's still out), and also the thing about him deleting all his social media stuff after it was found not only had he said homophobic stuff in the past, but had then also been found in some gay porn too.
Reading that back it sounds like I made that up, but he's a guy with issues for sure.
@Daley Douglas I mean I'm not looking down on the guy (aside from the dumb homophobic shit he said to try and get a reaction). I honestly hope he just gets some mental help honestly, I don't think I want him in the wrestling business if he's clearly so affected by it all, the last thing we need is yet another wrestler found dead by suicide before the age of 35.
Though he hasn’t lived up to expectations quite yet, Lars Sullivan had that just plain scary look to him. Similar to the French angel.
I thought he was gonna say bam bam bigelow for sure.
You could do the same with albert from the attitude/ruthless agression era.
I looked that blood oath and the ashtray thing up that makes me mad im not older than i am that shit was crazy
Could they of packaged Braun Strowmen or Lars Sullivan like this?
Jos LeDuc could have had a second career as a slasher killer. LeDuc was a lot scarier than Kane Hodder. In his WWF match his ring attire made him look like the Trapper.
Lesnar vs. a man who had the presence of a legitimate killer sounds intriguing. LeDuc losing a match is scary. If he were to lose I picture him attacking his opponent backstage with an axe.
Imagine Samoa Joe as his partner
Tomas McCormack I was thinking Samoa Joe as well actually.
Joe doesn't need somebody else.
If he's going with people from the past, I would have said Ken shamrock
I wanna see shamrock vs Brock
In the build up to his match with vader Ken Shamrock did a legit suplex on vader. 90s Ken Shamrock would be amazing.
I was thinking Dr Death for the whole buildup and when he said Joe Leduc I went who? But goddamn now I really want to see that
He calls him Paul E? No big deal... I still call him Dangerously..
The way Cornette talks about Brock, you know he never watched any of his UFC run
@Anthony Cruz Majority? Dude, ALL
Vince: I LOVE IT, PAL! Hey, Paul, get me that Lars Sullivan!
HHH: Um, yeah, about him...
I was like 100% sure he was going to say bruiser broly lol
I thought he was gonna go Vader. Holy fuck Vader vs Brock would be amazing.
From the thumbnail i thought for sure it gonna be Keith Lee
I hate to sound like a broken record, but I was so hoping you would've said Bruiser Brody. Brody vs. Lesnar would have been gold!
What if WWE paid Cornette a fortune to manage BRAWN STROWMAN? Just manage Strowman on a limited schedule? I think it would work, if Jim was willing.
Just coming back to have my imagination worked up by the matchups leduc could have if he lived in this era: John Cena, the super hero that gets destroyed and put on a stretcher, Danielson, technical ability and heart vs strenght, a young orton and cody rhodes just for the selling. Lesnar is good to steal the big ppv, and get the most of the star power of brock while having someone that could go toe to toe athletically. Braun is too limited but you can steal a PPV out of it.
Edit : also its interesting that wrestling loves Big attraction type freaks that looks like psychopaths and Monsters, meanwhile right now in outlaw shows you Can cross actual psychopaths in the ring but they look average at best
I didn't even know who Corny would choose to possibly manage, but for some reason the name Jos Leduc kept repeating in my head long before he revealed it. Spooky.
