Crashing a Mavic 3 drone can be expensive, so I hope this video helps someone prevent one. Mistakes do happen so I recommend getting DJI Care Refresh, so at least you can recover some of the cost. TIP: Avoid using DLOG, 60fps, and 5.1K when running out of battery, the warning is very short!
Friend, thank you very much for your advice, a month ago my Mini 2 crashed, I did not have insurance, I sent it to DJI Care and they changed it, the repair was not very expensive, I imagine what you felt when you saw your Mavic 3 Damaged, Greetings from Mexico my friend...
I'm a little confused about the flight path u took when it crashed, were you controlling it or did it glitch out ,cause my Air2S flew away when I was returning home manually ,it wouldn't respond to my stick movements and the landed in a street and got run over
It happened very fast, but I was watching drone on VLOS and I did not expect it to go sideways. I learned a lot, and will take much more precaution next time. These accidents do happen, so I am glad I had DJI Care Refresh.
Sorry to see that you crashed the drone. I hope you have refresh care! I wanted to hit the like button for this video, but I don't like what happened! 🤭
You are correct in all your after action debriefing. If I may add a few tips: Mavic 3 cannot do Obstacle Avoidance at night or in low light. Do not expect it to. Avoid using RTH. If you are truly in LOS ( line of sight ) you should be able to fly your drone back to Home. RTH should only be used IF you lose orientation and LOS with your drone and not as an automatic return function. My technique is to fly home at max altitude (below 400 AGL) to avoid all ground obstacles until overhead and then come straight down after confirming a clear path. You have the potential to rise above just being a mere drone hobbyist and become a remote pilot. Happy flying.
All good points! Unfortunately, the landing spot was tricky, full of ornamental lights with wires, small trees with near invisible branches, and water hazard.
These are really easy mistakes to make. Especially regarding how the drone will perform around power lines and in low light. Video is great but OA not so good. I really think the only mistake that cost you was flying too low. If you’d stayed at least 200 feet up you’d never come near those lines.. But the DJI refresh was brilliant.. Smart move!

pilot error, you flew low while in a low light situation were the sensors are off, what i do in that case is keep as high as any object around and just bring it close to me where i have a better VLOS and land safe.
Yes, good idea. Wide open field looked too easy. The sport mode also blocked OA and made it go sideways unexpectedly too fast with sensitive joysticks.
Spectacular. You made a very professional video about it that I appreciate. Well done. Be nice to have a crystal ball. I have care refresh too. A good investment. Many thanks. Merv Aussie.
No obstacle avoidance at night, I saw those lines of telephone poles as you went to the road and knew that’s what this video was going to show. Mine avoids power lines when following my car during the day which was impressive cause I wasn’t sure it would

I appreciate it very much, hope you got your Mini 2 back quickly.
I am really sorry about your lost. It takes a real pilot to admit his mistakes. I hope everything works out for you.
Thanks for the kind sentiment. I am sending the drone back for a new one with DJI Care Refresh.
So sad to see it like that! May your next one fly forevermore :)
Thanks, got a new one with DJI Care Refresh so I’m being more careful.

Amazing!
Thanks!
Good Job Bro 👊 like and New Sub 👍🔝 🤩 thanks for sharing
Thanks for your support!
I noticed you also flew in the telephoto mode and that greatly skewed your perspective and drone distance from immediate obstacles or interfrences.
hello did you fix it?
I got a new drone by using DJI Care Refresh.
Thanks for sharing! shoot can see the drone crashing...
Thanks! Received new drone with DJI Care Refresh after 2 weeks.

Awesome
Thank you!

Oh..... Top wire, dark. It's unfortunate! Looking at the plane, there was a big fall, it broke properly! I am sorry!

Te faltó prestar más atención, siempre evitar un drone volar menos de 50 metro de altura, es recomendable permanecer 120 metro de altura.
I agree, go slow and be careful.
Ohh Nooooo 😭😭
Sad yes.

Yup.
