This year is our 10th consecutive year of keeping Navarathri Golu in USA.
Navarathri 2020 - A celebration to bring positivity and happiness!
Below is a summary of my golu setup
In First floor, I have displayed my small golu with Ashtalakshmi set in the center. Then on the right are miniature collections of my mother and on the left I have displayed my Disney princess dolls followed by Mylittle pony characters. Then comes a snowy village set up using miniature houses covered in snow and cotton rolls.
In the second floor, we have displayed our 5 step golu padi with traditional dolls like Ganesha, Kalasam, Marapachi, Lakshmi, Saraswathi and Durgai, Ashtalakshmi, Dasavatharam and Ashta lingam.
To the Left side of the golu, we have a Village theme consisting of Pannayar Illam, typical village streets and house setup, temple and market with chetti chettiyar selling a variety of utensils of different types.
To the Right side of golu, we have displayed Individual sets like Gadodhgajan set, Bharathanatyam set, Iyyapan set and Krishnar set.
Our golu continues to an adjacent room where we have displayed Tamil Brahmin Wedding events starting from Pen parthal to Kalyana seeru, which is followed by Life events from semandham to 60th birthday celebrations.
The final part of our golu is the Aarupadai Veedu. This set comprises of many handmade crafts like the mountains and baby murugars.
