I think a nice nickname for the Alpha Series would be "Grand Daddy" because they're the oldest type of Big Daddy. I got the name from an achievement in BioShock 2 where you have to beat a Big Daddy without dying and thought "Hey, that's a cool nickname!"
Your right! Those Big Daddies are Protectors of Little Sisters! All Big Daddies are different Helmet with oxygen tank with on their back can allow to walk outside ocean. In Bioshock 1 those Big Daddies are different type weapons. Bouncers got Drill. Rosies got Rivet Guns and Proximity Mines. Those Bouncers and Rosies are have red-striped Elite version. In BioShock 2 Rumbler are part of Big Daddy and deployable Mini-Turrets and a shoulder mounted RPG that shoots non-guided rockets. was created by Gilbert Alexander. Lancer from DlC Minerva's Den and new weapons Ion Laser. Subject Delta and Subject Sigma are part Alpha Series. Those Alpha Series were a failed line of prototype Protectors developed first by Dr. Yi Suchong. You were right. Your always right about all history about Bioshock. They smart genius and created new prototype technology.
Im pretty sure those arent oxygen Tanks (only to alpha series) has adam and eve tanks if you look at the bioshock 2 Trailer when Subject delta is about to drill the splicer
Eric, I really enjoyed this. I would love to see a video on each of the Big Daddies as mentioned at the end, that’d be great. Your video made me reflect upon my interactions with them in the first two games: my first fight with one, watching them wander around, seeing them get sad when a little sister didn’t appear, and me trying to make sure I didn’t accidentally aggro one if I was fighting splicers. Keep up the great work dude!
I’d argue that the big daddy is the face of bioshock we see the Bouncer big daddy on the cover of bioshock and the alpha series on the cover of bioshock 2 and they even made it in bioshock infinite in the burial at sea DLC
After one particularly intense BioShock 2 session, i had my windows open and heard a motorcycle drive by. I didn't make that connection at first. My first thought was to prepare myself for the battle, which I then followed by slapping my forehead, because not only was the no big daddy, my PS3 wasn't even activated.
When big daddies were just engineers was their armor grafted on their skin or not? And if it was, then was it allowed by that human who was going to be big daddy? Btw nice video
I saved all Little Sisters on my playthrough of BioShock and becoming a Protector at the end is really great continuation to that. You are protector of innocents and Frank Fontaine is threat to every innocent everywhere. Thus protector will remove the threat. If man of sufficient compassion wields weapons of Big Daddy he may do it without his mind falling to pieces. I just find Big Daddies and Little Sisters very adorable and luckily Fontaine got very slow and unpleasant death by Little Sister.
Hey Erik! I love how you post bioshock videos! As bioshock is my favourite game it’s really interesting of you to play and talk about it! And I don’t think Rapture is Rapture without big daddy’s.
Would you kindly make a video about all 5 types of Big Daddies? The Big Daddy is also my own favorite character from any video game. I'm making a Big Daddy suit for Halloween, and I could use all the input I can get. ...would you kindly?.
I remember when bioshock dropped in 07 and I came across the first alpha series lol not the cut scenes but when you actually come close to them when dude helmet turned red junk freaked me out lol he kept doing that shoulder charge. Side note we need another bioshock in rapture, done right (even though I enjoyed B1 and B2 not so much infinite though story was just all over the place lol)
Early articles/reports are claiming that it'll have nothing to do with Rapture/Columbia... unless they're keeping that airtight. We'll have to wait and see.
Hello. Love your content and dedication to bioshock overall! Got a question that has been boggling my mind all those years. If you were to take all those big daddy types (including alpha series) to face them off 1 versus 1 who would be the winner in a 1 vs 1 fight? I'm talking about a tournament style face off, multiple rounds in a regular bioshock setting place. I have tried doing those in game but it doesn't feel lore-wise correct especially a rosie winning against a rumbler in cqc battle and an alpha loosing against most of the production models. In my theory an alpha in prime state with some basic upgrades and plasmids would be able to take all of them in a versus fight while lancer would be the 2nd strongest. However i would like to hear what you think on this subject given that you are one of the most dedicated fans out there and with your vast amount of knowledge. Keep up the great work!
First, thank you for the kind words and support. If I personally had to pick a winner, I'd say the Lancers from Minerva's Den, since they're technically the best Big Daddies that were developed in Rapture.
@@TheBioshockHub So not even an alpha would be able to take them head on lore-wise.. Well makes sense since they are the most advanced after all. Thanks for the reply!
I know i'm too late, but i just want to know how the bouncer and rosie bonded with little sisters after yi suchong's death. and elizabeth is the only one knows how to bonded them and she bonded only one and We saw dozens of bouncers and rosies are bonded and gil didn't mentioned he bonded bouncers or roises Did the little sisters who bonded tell the other sisters or what
I didn't like the first one, i played the second one with an eyebrow raised and i kinda liked a bit, i hated infinite a lot. At the end i don't really like bioshock as a whole, but your videos are good anyway
@@TheBioshockHub I just despise the retcons to the lore of both Bioshock and Infinite. For instance, Devil's Kiss in Rapture when Incinerate! was already established, Old Man Winter when Winter Blast existed, etc.
@@KuonilerariLoufanwald And I completely understand that as well. I was pretty annoyed that while in Rapture, they were still using the Vigor/Columbia style. But then again, they wanted to tie Infinite into Bioshock 1.
If you want to be technical, it's yes and no. Since they were essentially prototypes that failed what Suchong sent out to do. So yes, they were the first attempt at the big daddy, but no because they weren't successful. If that makes sense.

Great video, dude. I was intrigued by Sinclair's background. Thank you for clarifying it.
TheBioshockHub The Big daddy's Are The Best
I have a question what was made first the Rosie and Bouncer or the Alpha Series?
@@TheBioshockHub is it me or is The Lancer the only rare Big Daddy that wields such a weapon like The Ion Laser Gun.

One will be coming shortly :D
Btw big daddies (Rosies and Alpha Series) were + - 215 cm tall and Bouncers something about 190 assuming because of Jack's height (186 cm) :)
I’d argue that the big daddy is the face of bioshock we see the Bouncer big daddy on the cover of bioshock and the alpha series on the cover of bioshock 2 and they even made it in bioshock infinite in the burial at sea DLC
Do a video dedicated to all types of Big Daddies.
I'm doing all the research I can on each one, so hopefully I'll be able to :) I'll more than likely make a video on all 5.

When they were just engineers/maintenance workers, no. It was only when Suchong wanted them to imprint with the little sisters.

it's weird how the stranger from above became the first big daddy like what the fuck

I thought tenenbaum saved all of the original little sisters? If not, that means her and jack left a lot behind to become big sisters....
Well, there were plenty of Little Sisters in BioShock 2, so...
I think most of them where saved. In bioshock 2 Sofia Lamb used big sisters to kidnapp kids on the surface. Because there where not enough of them

yes do a video of the 5 clases
Quick question, in bioshock 1 and 2 its a one a way street but in 2 dlc porter is cured. So is only alpha series cured or all?
I think he's the first to be cured, due to Tenenbaum if I'm not mistaken
I’m sad that the alpha series only were included in bioshock two

Who’s the BD at proving grounds level that crashed through the wall? Can anyone provide links so I get more info or backstory? Bioshock lore is rich.
How about lore dealing with the crazy vending machines throughout the BioShock titles?
I could do that.
Have you got God Of War 4 yet? If so please make a vid on it its sooooo good.
I have and already beat it, incredible game.
