The kid has a pretty good English accent, it's insane how much better kids are at learning languages than most grown ups.
learning a language as a child is much easier than learning it as an adult. children are already learning their native language as they grow. that is why it always seems easier to learn anything when you’re younger, like an instrument or a language because adults on the other hand are already established and developed.

Mmmm are you American because people in basically all other countries know like 3 languages and especially in English because of business often makes it into the mix. South Koreans also send quite a bit of college students over to America too. “Speaking English well” can come off as a backhanded compliment, but saying her English accent is great would essentially maybe mean more what you meant. In my experience in journalism speaking with an accent is the difference for the average American on how good someone is at English which isn’t reflective of their technical proficiency. Being good at non native accents to you is hard. Most Americans don’t even speak English well when you get into the syntax it’s crazy how many grammar rules you’re expected to break during a casual conversation. Also the way the stylist’s son had a near perfect accent def tells me he has an American tutor.

Watching this made me realise how much like Sae-Byeok she actually is which is probably why she did such a good job portraying her. Sae-Byeok was pretty desperate and depressed which is why she was so melancholy but she prioritised family and she was a genuinely good person. If Sae-Byeok had a happy life she would be a lot like Hoyeon here. Hoyeon also deeply cherishes her friends and family and that’s Sae-Byeok’s core.
