If anyone writes a comment that is unkind or is off in a negative unrelated direction it will be removed. I made this video for family and friends and make no money from my UA-cam channel. If others enjoy seeing this video it is satisfying to know it is well received by Elvis fans.

They have expanded it across the street. There is so much to see now. You could spend 4 hours in the different museums. I only showed part of it in my video. They now have a hotel you could stay at. However, I saved money and stayed in my camper a 30 minute drive away from Graceland.

My husband and I have travelled through most of Europe, Asia, some countries in Africa. I've never been interested in going to US. But if I get well enough again we will visit Graceland. We both love Elvis. My mother always listened to him. Thank you for this video. Love from Sweden.

I went around that time also. You were not allowed upstairs because he still had relatives living there. Also you couldn’t go in the kitchen either. Somebody was cooking in there when we went through. I thought the handball court was great and also his plane was like a flying penthouse with its gold sink and faucets. Also his horses were still there.

It's still the same. I loved seeing it once, but wouldn't care anything about it again. The only difference may be the grave yard. His mother was brought there. His dad. His grandmother that outlived Elvis. I don't know why they wouldn't have relocated his twin brother there. But 8 really did enjoy the tour and especially the beautiful grounds.

Everyone that knew Elvis said he was very kind and thoughtful towards others. He enjoyed having fun by speeding around in his different vehicles (motorcycles, dune buggy, cars) and pulling practical jokes on friends. But he was always a generous with sharing some of his wealth with others.

His manager argued with him a lot over his spending habits and how he almost went broke while he was late 30’s. However, 60 years later, if he didn’t spend what he did, we wouldn’t have an entire collection of memories of him today. All the outfits, the belt buckles, the extraordinary items he owned, etc. so ironic how his choices actually gave us history of him, to show off decades after his death.

I've been there twice, in 1989 & Aug. 17th, 2002, one day after the 25th Anniversary of
Elvis' death! The day before, it was so mobbed ( I heard) that it was nearly impossible
to get in. We saw thousands of bouquets of flowers virtually covering the family's
graves & the 'mood' was still somber! It's been nearly 45 years & he is still loved & missed!

Lisa Marie Presley retains 100% sole personal ownership of Graceland Mansion itself and its over 13-acre original grounds and her father's personal effects - meaning costumes, wardrobe, awards, furniture, cars, etc.. She has made the mansion property and her father's personal effects permanently available for tours of Graceland and for use in all of EPE's operations.

The museums you could see from your wheelchair. The ground level of the house but not the basement. Some of the house and buildings in the back you can access. If you have never been to the United Stated know that Memphis is sort of a run down city. Streets are old and some sections of buildings old and run down. But if you stay at the hotel near the Elvis complex it will be fine. It gets really hot and humid there. However, inside all the buildings there is air conditioning. I am sure you can contact Graceland to find out wheelchair accommodations.

No upstairs is never seen by visitors. Only Elvis’ wife and daughter. The lead archive lady too. The family wants it private. So it has always been off limits. I did not show one of the buildings on the mansion tour because it had memorabilia from the family, dark inside and crowded. Then on the museum side there are more things to see I did not film because I wanted people who visit to see some surprises and my video not to be too long. So there his military attire, boats, inside of the jet
      too etc.

I went with friends to Graceland in the 90's
The driver parked across the street and didn't have to pay anything.
Also, the name Graceland has nothing to do with Elvis.
Graceland had everything to do with the person living there before Elvis bought the house.
But we associate Elvis with Graceland because that's how it was introduced to most of us.

Why is the name on the grave marker spelled wrong Aron only has one A on his Birth Certificate yet on the marker it has 2 AA

    • @walkabouttraveler8930
      @walkabouttraveler8930  2 роки тому +2

The answer: both. The King's middle name was in honor of his father's friend Aaron Kennedy, but the Presleys used the Aron spelling to match the middle name of Elvis' stillborn identical-twin brother, Jesse Garon Presley. Even so, Aaron is the spelling on the Graceland grave site. The reason for the spelling of Aron with only one A is because the names Jesse Garon and Elvis Aron were meant to rhyme. For some odd reason in the early 20th century, it was popular to rhyme the middle names of your children. Elvis switched it to Aaron in later years to reflect the biblical spelling.

I doubt if it could it could get more ugly and more low-class American if they tried? It looks as if the characters living in those backwoods huts in the movie 'Deliverance' had won the National Lottery and gone into interior design. It must have been like living in a nightmare. He was, however a brilliant singer and entertainer who virtually invented rock 'n' roll. It's a shame he came to such a sticky end, but a lot of them do.
