- This is my reaction to BTS, Nobodies to Legends 2018 and 2019! yes, i literally spent the whole video crying, what about it?

V lost a lot of people during his career. V's parents were poor and so V was sent to live with his grandparents. She passed away when they were still very fresh in their career. V heartbreakingly confesses about her death in their concert only for people to mock his grandmother's death. Being told that he's using her death to get pity fans ,and alot of stuff like he should've died with her ,and she must be disappointed at him from heaven . His grandfather passed away and his friend suicided .2018 was a tough year for him and alot of the fans believe that the reason V broke down when Jin mentioned disband was because his mental state could be one of the reason why that discussion came up. Along with the immense pressure they had being the first group to go to billboard.
All of them have had a lot of things that they were insecure about.
Jimin went on a diet where he ate one meal in 10 days eventually collapsing because he thought he was fat.
Jin being the one that started music at 21 years old was always sad that no matter how hard he tries he can never be as good as the rest of the members that had been practicing since they were very young.
Suga suffered from social anxiety and depression wouldn't even tell the company he dislocated his shoulder in an accident in a fear that they might kick him out.
Jhope also was constantly told that he's visuals are not good and he's ugly . People trended that he should leave BTS.
Jungkook believes that he is inferior to everyone else in the group. Because he joined the showbusiness at the age of 13 ditching school. He ,even now feels insecure as he thinks his world is so small because he stopped growing after he stopped going to school.
Finally RM, probably the pioneer of the concept of Love yourself that BTS embodies. He used to hate himself and would wear sunglasses because he was too insecure to show his face. He's hinted also of his suicidal thoughts (he also constantly hangs around Han River infamous for having many people suicide in that location). He wanted to love himself and decided that maybe all of us fans too can join him on finding our own paths to self love.
All the members of BTS are also fighting their own internal struggles. And I believe the message they spread are also something that they themselves are trying to embody . So yes, their love yourself/speak yourself message has always been deeply interwoven into their music .
I apologize for the long comment ! But seeing you talk about the prejudice against them just brought back memories. They've been through so much and are still suffering from so much hate.

True! Even a lot of mainstream artists like them (at least they pretend to-oof). Just because YoU hAvE tIkToK aNd StAn ChArLi and listen to Ariana, Meghan T. Stallion, Drake, etc, doesn’t mean you have to hate on ARMYS because they choose to use their love and affection on 7 of literal nicest and passionate people on this Earth.
(Literally only a majority of people I know like them/kpop in general and most of the others call them gay and just really offensive stuff.)

When you said “people love to hate on popular things”, god, it’s so true. Society especially loves to hate on anything with a fanbase that’s majorly female, as if anything girls/women like is somehow of lesser quality than whatever men like. It’s one of the reasons people don’t take BTS seriously, because they’re just “pretty boys that girls scream and obsess over” and it’s ridiculous.
They love using the “only girls like them for their looks” stereotype even though about 1/4 of the fanbase are male.

Its not that girls like them because guys do too. The general audience just thinks BTS is another talentless overhyped boy group like One Direction. And do think all the fans are girls and think the songs have little to no meaning. Its really nothing against females and how "anything men like is good," that's bullshit. I could list many things that mostly men like that the general audience despises with or without reason.
When I first saw their MAMA speech and Jin started talking about disbanding is when I broke completely. They have really come sooo far and made such a huge impact (I feel like huge is still too small of a word to completely express just how big their impact has been) to millions of people including myself and to think that there could have been a world where that didn't exist is absolutely insane. bts has helped me in a way that no other artist except for 1 has been able too. From my perspective, bts choosing to stay together continuing to do the things they love is the best choice made in history.
To army's still reading this long a** ugly comment: I hope you're having or will have a good day and just breathe. Especially in the time, we're in right now I feel like we really need to just take a breath. Stay healthy and wash your hands. Fighting!

@@salvatoreruggiero6551 I do understand where you are coming from because I only fairly recently became an army and before I thought the fandom was a little insane and just stayed away from it in general. Yes, you are right there are some fans like that like @Julia Riojas said. However, after joining the fandom I've learned what most everyone is like; most of them, like myself, truly just fell in love with their personalities, music, and message and want to support them in return. It literally saved my friend's life and I think that's a beautiful thing and don't see how that is unhealthy. Sometimes the passion we have for them can turn into something unhealthy and I don't think you should depend on bts to live but that's not what bts is teaching. They are helping people learn to love themselves so that they don't depend on anyone or anything else for self-love. Of course there are hundreds of other artists that deserve recognition as well, I don't think anyone is saying bts are the only talented artists. I won't go much into fanwars, they definitely are an issue but it's not right for you to blame it solely on army. It's an issue with kpop in general.
This is why I love BTS so much, they’re not just artists with good songs, they have such a deep love for their fans and they show us their pain and struggles, their real selves, and I feel even though I haven’t been with them from the beginning, they’re my family and I will always love them 💛

I remember that I didn't wanted to be into Kpop although I am now. I didn't want to be in it cuz a lot of my friends would say "ew..they're gay" "they're not good" "they look like girls"..There was once that the table I sat in class it said "BTS are gays", I took my sharpie and scribbled on it so that I won't have to see it when I sit on the table for a whole year. ( I got scolded by my teacher XD ) My brother would also say bad things about them. Although I did like their song, Boy with Luv and Jungkook caught my eye. I love Boy With Luv but I was too scared to tell my friends or if I tried listening at home my brother would just hate it. And now during the lockdown, I thought of listening to all of their music. And at that moment I listened to their song, I just felt something and I felt that it was right to stan them.
I didn't even know that I wrote a whole paragraph XD
We all found BTS when we most needed them. Just be yourself and don't be afraid to stan them. You'll find another family that will change your life forever. 💜💜
Okay I'm not that good with advice but as an army myself, I want to at least to try to help. I am not going to force you to tell your family or your friends that you are a fan BTS, but if they do somehow find out and talk bad about them and try to make you not like them, try your best to defend yourself and BTS. But please remember when you are defending yourself, don't cause an argument. I don't think anyone of us (ARMY) would want your relationship with your family or your friends to break just because you're a fan of BTS. Try to respect their opinions and they might respect yours in time.
I am not sure if this helps since I have never gone through a situation like yours, but I hope this at least reminds you that you still have support. :)

At first I actually hid the fact that I was an army from my friends and my family because they would always talk shit about them
But I was lucky enough to find friends who were fellow armys
They gave me the strength to not hide this fact and now my friends and my family knows that I'm a huge fan of theirs and my family does occasionally say not so pleasant things about them but I was able to convince my friends not to stay stuff like this b/c like I don't get why would one hate on someone else without even knowing anything about it just pisses me off so much
I hope you find the strength to stand firm in front of your family and friends and are able to defend BTS when needed. Fighting! ✊😊
I can relate as well. My friends all think bts are gays, who f each other, have no talent, and probably lie that they write their own music. I usually just don't speak to them about bts to avoid arguments. Cause I know myself their value and how good they are. I don't need to prove it to them. And thats enough for me. But of course i have my sister who's also an army so we fangirl together. Maybe making online army friends would help you find an outlet to express your interest? If there's no one around you irl to share your passion with. 💜

these nobody to legends videos are the reason why i admire bts so much :( we saved them and they saved us it's so beautiful
it honestly still amazes me that the ones who we and bts gets hate most from is the kpop community itself. they just hate seeing that bts' success is well deserved and that they're really the best in their sphere. to local community and the west also still tries to push bts down as much as they can bc they can't allow an asian group to be on top of their industry. basically inside kpop community they are hated bc of jealousy of other kpop artists stans and outside kpop they are hated bc of racism and xenophobia.

I see a lot of people always saying BTS are overrated or asking why they're famous and I always think the same thing- they have an underdog story. Their story is not saying they worked way harder than other idol groups (even though they did have more troubles), not saying they sing like actual angels, they dance like pros, or they have godlike visuals (though this could be argued for Taehyung), it's not saying that they are exceptionally better than any other group at all. But their story is one people enjoy, just in a different format. They came from the bottom, below everyone else, and still made themselves into a worldwide group. It's relatable- starting with nothing and then attaining everything you set out to get- the kind of story people want to see. And the fact that they make music about relatable issues- loneliness, loving yourself, finding yourself, struggles with expectations from older generations- makes them seem more human and 'touchable' (?) I feel like a person who watches shonen anime will understand completely. Many people would rather root for Naruto than Sasuke, right? Asta over Yuno? Midoriya over Bakugo? Gon over Killua? It's always exciting to see the underdog overtake their genius counterparts- though for BTS I guess it'd be 'the less equipped, less well-known' group overtaking their 'better equipped, from some popular company' counter parts.
This video never fails to make me cry. BTS is just so pure they take their struggles and experiences and write songs about it, they put their heart and soul to deliver a message to army. They never fail to amaze us and make us feel like we matter. BIGHIT, BTS and ARMY are a big family, were when one feels sad or lonely we are there to help and make them feel better.
I can’t ever get through this video without crying 😭 is it weird to be proud of people you’ve never met? Cause they are my absolute role models, I can’t even imagine having that much dedication and strength.

I'm going to be honest I didn't find BTS when I most needed them. I found out about them in 2018 and I liked them and listened to their music. But it was 2019 when they hit me hard and was there when I needed them the most. I went to a different school than the rest of my friends so I was alone. That's when BTS came back to me and I started watching these videos and I started feeling what they felt. Of course I will never feel the full extent of their pain but I want to share that pain that brought me joy. And if I can be one person out of millions that will help a little bit with their hardships and keep them going, I will be that person. It's like returning the favor. They help you so you help them. I feel awful that I wasn't there to help them when they were a group in 2013. I really do regret it, I may not be part of the ARMY's who fought alongside them for all the years. I may not have been part of the ARMY's who kept them going during one of their toughest times. But what I do know is that I'm still part of ARMY, a family that brought me in with opened hands telling me welcome home. When I was alone, it was an ARMY who brought me back up. I am honestly forever grateful. And although I may have listened to almost all their songs they've put out there and although I may know tiny details about the members, I still have a lot to learn. And while I'm learning I will be defending the boys and proudly say I'm an ARMY... *(and a MOA and an NCTzen and a Moomoo and a MyDay and a Stay and a Buddy and a TeamOne and a Once)*

As a person who has been ARMY since the day they debuted, I love watching newer fans discover the journey that they have gone through to get to where they are today. It did not happen overnight. The journey was hard, not just physically but mentally for them. They could have given up so many times, but they had a dream and they believed in themselves and ARMY. I really love they have so many new fans now, they deserve it, but they are still getting so much criticism and hate. These boys have given their lives to BTS, to share their music with the world and to know that people put so much hate on them is beyond cruel. They have no privacy, every single thing they say and do is examined with a fine toothed comb and criticised by so many. In the end, they are human beings - they get hurt by the comments and actions of these cruel people. I am nearly 60 years old and a mum and I suppose in a way that makes me materially protective of them. Thankyou for giving them a chance. Thankyou for letting them into your heart. Thankyou for loving these amazing young men. 💜💜💜🇦🇺

BTS is not only a boy band who produces music. But they produce music and song that teach valuable life lessons for every single soul .Their songs is the true definitions of music. I PURPLE U BTS AND ARMY 💜
The feeling of how BTS show their love for ARMY and music, always trying to pass a strong message to the world is so pure and unique. And they share so many moments and struggles for us, just like a family, always trying to help each other. And I think the most beautiful phrase thats descbribe the emotion to get into ARMY family is this one "Falling for BTS isn't falling at all... It's like walking into a house and knowing you're FINALLY home...." So proud of my boys...
Extra fact: Namjoon used to translate hate comments as positive ones to the boys and took it all on himself- when i read it i started BAWLING my eyes out like HE IS SO PRECIOUS

I agree with you. I really hate the fact that some people hate on some singers that they don't even know them. Judging someone by his/her appearances is one of the things that I hate the most. Some months ago, when I was on my school, I was sitting with my friends (we were chatting) and than one of my classmates (he is a boy) came up to me and out of nowhere he said that they are gay. That got me really mad. And before that day, we had Music and my teacher told us we can do whatever we want for that day(basically she leted us do whatever we want). Most of my classmates were drawing or they were playing games. Me and my best friend wanted to listen to some music and my best friend told me to tell the teacher to let us listen to some music on the computer. Our Music teacher said "okay" and we played a song of Jhope and after that I putted on 'IDOL' and than that one guy that called bts gay came up and looked at the m/v and said "Oh my ears are hurting" and he said it because it was bts. Like I don't understand his problem with them. He doesn't even know them..Most of my classmates hate them besides my best friend and 2 guys that are sitting next to me. And the one of them really likes RM although he doesn't know bts that much, the other one really supports the fact that I like bts and he likes them too.(sorry if my English are bad👉🏻👈🏻)

😭🥺🥺 they are just incredible and so precious. They inspire me so much 🥺 I’ve held off on watching this video cause I’ve never felt ready to watch it (I’ve just never felt emotionally ready). Of course I already know a lot of these things shown in the video, but when they’re all put into a format like this, it just makes me super emotional.
🥺 anyways, I totally agree with the things you’ve said about all the hate and stuff.
I know one of my best friends clearly shows her hatred toward them and i just don’t understand why. I understand not everyone has to like them because of course, people have different interests in music. However, her just showing her hatred and dislike towards them won’t change anything except spread negativity. I know one of my other best friends isn’t a huge fan of them, but she doesn’t spread any negative thoughts and opinions about them. She just keeps them to herself and I honestly really appreciate that. If anybody reads this (plz don’t comment anything negative), I just want to say that I understand people have their own likes and dislikes, but hating won’t solve anything.

That MAMA 2019 Speech made me cry so hard for 1 hour and then for days. No matter how many times I’ve seen these videos and clips it always gets me emotional.... I never have words to describe what Bts means to me and probably not all the words in the world would be enough. I haven’t been with them from the beginning but long enough to have experienced some of those moments. I feel devastated to think anyone would hate on them, it is so wrong because they are nothing more than beautiful beautiful humans.

Yeah the issue is people assume they're just a group who blew up out of nowhere and are one-hit wonders but doesn't realize that they've been working since 2013 and haven't had a real break since August of 2019. Also, you're right if I wasn't for their personalities + great inspiring music many people wouldn't watch them. Could you react to don't let bts on tour + armypedia?
The reason why BTS is different to every other group is, they were never handed their success. They didn't have the backing and promotion of a big company and their success literally came from the relationship between them and their fans. Which is why, when they show appreciation for their fans, I truly believe they mean it with all their hearts and it's not just something they say out of courtesy. The top social artist award may not seem like a massive award but I think it is the most fitting for this. It's evidence of the engagement and appreciation they have for ARMY.

that award show speech where everyone cried.... ive watched that so so many times and yet every single time i cry.... its really the most heartbreaking and heartwarming video i have ever seen
People can hate on BTS all they want but the fact and truth is that BTS deserve every award, every nomination, every good thing that comes their way. I love so many groups and I have so many biases, so I’m not just saying this as an army (because Im also in other fandoms) of course they’re not the only group that works hard and whatever. That’s not what it’s about.... but we can’t deny them their success, the unbelievable charm that they have, the stamina they have on stage, their lyrics, the passion they put on their work, just everything that BTS is and their amazing message deserves all the awards, all the recognition. I love them. For those fans (wether BTS fans like me or if you’re in other fandoms) who engage in fan wars remember that BTS taught us that our hearts are big enough to hold love for everyone and to respect everyone. Don’t forget their message, and let’s always take the high road like them. Thanks to BTS, I was introduced to so many other bands/groups and I’m so happy that they opened my eyes to another culture and opened my heart to love myself and to love others. Forever army.

I was binge watching your BTS reactions without commenting but I couldn't hold it for this video.
They literally saved me when I was depressed and was about to give up on everything, it's nothing new to lot of ARMYS, they've done that to others too but for me they gave me this second life,where I am happier than ever,calm and want to better myself.
People hate them because they're just too good that it makes them uncomfortable and ashamed of themselves,otherwise I don't see a single reason to dislike them,forget the hate...they even hate them without knowing the reason,it's easy to hate on people nowadays, specially those who are popular and want to change the world for better.
But we're always here for them and to fight all the criticism and stand by them as always.

They are 7 years old group and at the top of the world right now, if they want they can release anything but no. They work their ass off as it's still something there left to prove, they didn't become less passionate, they still work hard as a rookie group , they always come with more energy in each comebacks.

OMG I cried so much during this video, the moment with V crying during the speech just killed me. I know them only for 2 weeks but with the quarantine I literally binge watched all the videos I can of them and it make me so happy and proud and I don't even know how to say it. Like you said, so many people just love to hate on things that are succeeding without even giving them a chance and I swear most people would find SOMETHING about BTS to love if they would open themselves to it.
I mean, my friend doesn't even really like the majority of their music but he loves them as people and is now watching all their shows (RUN, Bon Voyage, AHL etc) once I finally convinced him to try watching Bon Voyage. He just saw them being stupid and dorky and cute and domestic and real and he was hooked lol
That is so true. Many people say that it’s a valid reason to hate on bts because they don’t know their music but even if you don’t like the music you can at least respect them. It’s not hard. They haven’t done anything to you and it’s such a waste of energy to hate on them.

I appreciate so much that you value our Boys strugles. People hate on them for several (awful) reasons xenophoby, racism, prejudice against Boys groups or Kpop, and jealousy.
They put BTS under the microscope and hold any mistake their ever made, or even armys ever made, as a reason to hate on BTS. Some people just want to hate them, no matter what BTS do to help so many people.
BTS are not perfect and they recognize that, but they are always trying to better themselves as human beings and spread a good message.
I'll never forget staying up late to watch MAMA 2016 and being so happy when BTS won for the first time!! And their reactions were amazing xD
But when they started to cry I cried too, especially when suga cried, I couldn't hold it in, I was just so proud and grateful for being in this fandom 💜💜

thank you for that rant. i needed someone to talk about this. I'm a very recent fan, and I also used to think that bts were just popular because they were good looking and good performers/dancers, not necessarily because of the quality of their music. and although I never actually hated on them or made mean comments about them, I'm still so glad to have been proven wrong about my initial assumption. these boys are the most hard-working and dedicated group of people I've ever seen in the artistic world. they went through countless hardships to end up becoming a worldwide phenomenon, it didn't just fucking happen out of nowhere. just because I randomly found out about their existence and their popularity one day, doesn't mean they got there overnight. seriously, the fact that I kinda used to believe that things were probably handed to them easy makes me want to slap myself across my own face. i was just ignorant, much like all these people. and, truth is, it's okay to be ignorant, as long as you're willing to give something or someone a chance. don't be a hater for fuck's sake. I've always had a thing for rooting for the underdog and the underrated, and for the longest time i thought that bts were the opposite of that, when they are literally the definition of the underrated underdog. it's so ironic.
but anyway, i wanted to say that i've had a phase where i watched every single little mix video of yours, and now it all came back around with bts. you're actually one of the few reaction channels that i enjoy watching, mainly because you're so transparent and genuine with your reactions and i love that. your personality is bright and colorful and i can tell that you're a truly kindhearted person. thank you for being yourself and brightening so many people's days!

Nobodies to legends is a fans right of passage because when you cry you know you aren’t the only one who cried so it’s like we’re crying together finding that mutual understanding and feelings that bring us to this place to begin with
When you started spitting facts there, I felt that. People never give something a chance just because that thing makes you so happy and helped/helps you so much. They criticize you and, in this case, kpop because of the more feminine looks and because of the language. Language shouldnt be a barrier especially these days when there are so many possibilities of translation. People surrounding me have said such horrible things about kpop and the idols but i know better than them. I know how much kpop helps me and how it makes me feel.

I think most people don't understand that BTS is more than just a good looking boy band. They have a message and the ARMY loves them for that and not for their appearance. There is this prejudice from the society that makes so many people judge them without even knowing them at all. They are like "oh another boyband" and don't look into them more deeply. It's honestly so sad and I 100% agree with you saying that people hate on things that are successful, but I also think that most people don't expect BTS to have such a deep and important message and such an impact and to be this humble and lovable despite their success. I do not mean that that's an excuse for that behaviour neither am I saying other boybands are or were bad, but I have truly never seen a boyband like BTS before. Their message is so deep and they have changed and still change so many people's lifes. They unite the world. I have met and talked to so many ARMYs from all around the world already and all of them are so so kind and considerate. It feels like one big family and I know that it feels like that because of BTS, because of their message and because of the personality of each member individually. They influence each ARMYs life in the best way possible. They make us more open to other cultures, other languages and other people. They give us the feeling of belonging somewhere and being perfectly imperfect the way we are. It might sound cheesy but I truly believe that by connecting the earth like that they make this world a better place. I've never seen any ARMY being mean to another ARMY. So imagine everyone being an ARMY. I honestly think there wouldn't be any wars anymore. ARMY is the biggest and most diverse fandom in the world for a reason.

I've became an ARMY just recently, I started watching them because I found them cool and interesting and because some of my friends recommended them to me, but I didn't know a thing about their struggles, I just knew they were popular. But this quarantine I decided to give it a shot and I'm so dawn glad I did. I discovered that they're are so caring and kind, now it's not just their music what attracts me, but their bond and everything they represent, be it love for oneself and respect to others, they are amazing human beings and somehow I feel like I've known them for a long time, it's crazy.
I want to say that I am sorry that we caused you pain, but honestly we love reactions like this, emotional makeup and all (btw, you cry very beautifully, you don't look ugly at all. Yes! Love Yourself!). We love this because it shows your heart, and being brave enough to show raw emotions is one of the things we love about BTS. It is also wy we love you. 💜
Bts are the reason I got through my depression and anxiety. They are the reason I'm alive today because they taught me to live myself. I still have suicidal thoughts often but I will never do anything that could hurt the ones I love. All of this is possible because of, BTS.
