A cvt in the real world has a minimum ratio at engagement that is not being taken into account in this simulation that would not allow the vehicle to get moving from a stop and would probably cause it to stall or burn out the clutch.
Cvt are actually the best torque converters if only they can be used as heavy duty transmission. They are also the reason why the other auto trans have many gears because they want the same ability of unlimited usable ratio like cvt.
as far as i know, CVTs use a torque converter like an auto in regular cars. im not familliar with atvs and such but why does the one in game use a clutch?
Because the engagement system is different between these fun vehicles and a regular car. My car has a torque converter because it uses fluid to "shift" the transmission where as a quad like the one shown stays disconnected until you increase the engine rpm and the weights in the cut primary pulley clamp onto the belt and increases pressure with engine rpm so it can "shift" it's full ratio before losing control of the engine speed
CVT by itself is not bad at all, in fact its the perfect choice for some high-revving low-displacement lightweight sportscars, since it works well with engines with narrow powerband and low torque. however what really make it suck is the fake shifting they put in them.😠😠😠😠😠😠😡😡😡😡😡😡
CVTs are easy to drive, good Fuel fuel economy. They are reliable like Chevy, Toyota, Honda, and more but not Nissan. in the next 50 years CVTs may be available on Trucks, seni trucks and more.
Probably we won't see it used in heavy vehicles, because cvts can't handle a great amount of torque. For example, you don't see cvts used on cars with more than 300Nm of torque on average because above that is better to use a conventional automatic or dual clutch. Cvts are useful only for low-end economy cars
CVTs were banned in F1, which would have been a perfect ground for material development. Williams managed to make a CVT transmission handle a 505kg 780hp track monster all the way back in 1993, the year before it was banned, tho we have no info on things like reliability
🤭 me 15 hp scotter will pull this weight if im setup cvt for max power rpm at let say 1 km/h with also clutch perfect setup except there be not enough grip as this scooter is to light anyway from 12 hp at whell at 1 km/h 3 ton + pulling force there be generated what is enough for pull on level tarmac with rolling resist 0,02 avg road tire 150 tons trailer 🤭👌🏻 or train with rolling resist 0,002 on rail on level weight 1500 tons asf… so of you want show in this video how much can cvt pull than its fsilure 👌🏻 cos cvt can pull infinity weight on proper final gear ratio setup only what matter is cvt must be enough strong roboust for not break apart during attempt 😉👌🏻…

its burning its clutch by itself while drifting
You’ll need an stm primary and secondary billet clutch… trust me

Cvt is perfect for relaxed cruising road trip
at low speeds maybe, at high speeds your brain will die
Endless fartcan for the win
No cvts build up heat over time, making them less than ideal for long road trips
Cvt is great for mopeds not a car
Cvt does fine in a car. My Toyota is at 170k with a cvt trans@@deathx605

cvts have clutches and belts/chains at least in this car

perfect choice is always manual

Can the car pull me though XD
What about a CVT in sport mode
What are your pc specs?

CVTs should only ever be used in cars with less than 160hp
You won't need cvt with electric vehicles
