Albion! Rewatching these through your reactions, Alexa, makes me really appreciate this series on a new level, the lore, the pagan and wicca themes, long before it came back into the public domain again make this such a great series.
The new status quo finally becomes cemented by the end of this episode, and I like the fact that Robert has taken all this time to fully accept his destiny. As you say, it shows his respect both for his predecessor and for the idea of what being Robin Hood actually means, and I think it also makes it easier for the viewer to accept the change of lead actor. Definitely agree that Marion will be safer in Sherwood, given the seemingly near constant peril she has endured living back with her father. A very enjoyable episode overall, and I particularly liked the devotion the Sheriff shows to his falcons and the way he sucks up to Robert because he is an earl's son. There are just a couple of things that don't fully stack up for me. Surely Robert's prolonged absence from his father's castle would have started attracting comment by this time, unless perhaps he had come up with a good excuse to his father for his absence. Once Robert is exposed, I also wonder why the Sheriff doesn't just arrest the Wickham villagers again, as he can justifiably argue they were released under false pretences.
Yes, I do like it takes time for Robert to truly accept who he is. The series does so well with the transition, and Albion, I think, is used well to help Robert even accept his role.

Actually, I think this might the first time I've commented on it, despite subscribing (for the Blake's 7 reactions) shortly before the RoS videos started - which was just around the time I started a rewatch myself. I don't have the discipline to stick to one a week though, so finished a while ago. Definitely looking forward to next week's reaction - one of my favourites.
Robert has trouble accepting the Name "Robin Hood" which you can clearly see right at the end of the opening scene and also in his secret meeting with Marion despite now living in Sherwood with the Outlaws. Thankfully his dilemma is resolved at the end of the story and he finally accepts the sword and his destiny. One of the new Clannad Music Tracks i mentioned previously is included in the opening scene of the story and is called "Come in to the Mystic Forest" this and other new music tracks specially composed for Series 3 are incorporated in to each Episode along with existing Music Tracks previously composed for Series 1 & 2. Very Glad you enjoyed the Episode Alexa.
Its the first time I've watched this season (I have seasons 1 and 2 on DVD) since the 80's and I'm enjoying it better than I thought I would! At the time of original broadcast I never got used to the transition and although Jason's acting is still a little on the wooden side I'm now warming to his character much better. Maybe I'll add season 3 to the DVD collection! Nice reference to Boba Fett btw (;
Albion!🗡 I am so pleased you are continuing to enjoy the series. Jason Connery gets a lot of flak for his acting in this role, but I think people forget he is playing a different character from the first Robin.
Albion! It's great to see the whole gang's back together again(minus Robin). I'd say it was a brilliant casting choice to go with Jason Connery. Nothing against Michael Praed. He was all right but I think Robert is a more likeable character.
Soooo many things make me homsick in this show. All this talk of poachers and Lincolnshire. Moots at the Lincolnshire Poacher pub on Mansfield Rd. Ahhh well I'll be back home soon enough.
The Sheriff, a tyrant, turned out to be a nice fun drunk. It's funny how some nice people, become rude and combative when they drink, while rotten bastards can turn into real sweethearts.
@@paulmidsussex3409 good point! 🤣But a visit to Hathersage in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District, the Major Oak near Edwinstowe, Blidworth where Will Scarlett is buried, Kirklees Abbey and plenty more besides. Nothing's forgotten. Nothing is ever forgotten. There used to be a fabulous exhibit in Nottingham that featured many of the props and lore from Robin of Sherwood. And the oldest pub in all England. Who wouldn't want to visit all that?

I liked the new Robin, but was still sad about the old Robin. I was not sold on the new Robin, until this episode when he declined to take Albion.
