    This presentation was amazing. Thank you for educating the SA people about our history, and myself as well, as I didn't know about the history as it related to New Orleans. I went to NO in early 2007 (my company (at the time) did a post-Katrina clean up project at a children's park. Out of all of the ciites I've traveled to in the U.S., this is the one place I could feel the spirit of the ancestors; I loved it. I'm surprised you didn't mention the fleur de lis symbol as it relates to slavery. I'm currently in Louisville (the sister city), and it's displayed prominently here as well. The Nigerian funeral and NO funeral similarities...even down to the white clothes..WOW!
