An almost hour trip back to 1984? Yes please!
July 1984 was this Canadian's first time to go to Disneyland and Universal studios. The following month it was Hawaii my dad not to be outdone. My 13th Summer was pretty good 🌞
Oh man the McDonald's Olympics game. Man did that back fire when the soviets boycotted the olympics and America was dominating in every event.
It was so popular though that McDonald's brought it back for Atlanta three Olympiads later. But at least it brought one of the most memorable slogans in its history, replacing the less memorable "McDonald's and You".

2:18 was always my favorite part of the Olympics theme. NBC would play that cut occasionally but CBS had their own bland custom theme.
I believe that particular theme song was proprietary to ABC Olympics, so once NBC and CBS took the coverage, they didn't have the rights to the music. If I'm not mistaken NBC bought the rights to use it in their broadcasts by 2002, since ABC/ESPN basically forfeited bidding for Olympic coverage a while ago.

I just wanted to say that the only things we were worried about in my generation was the threat of nuclear war and who could forget the swarms of killer bees coming to kill us all from Africa. Eventually the only thing that came was AIDS. 💀
