My dad was a biker and I inherited this same bike with a few mods and a sick dragon paint job on the tank. I always thought i was too small to ride it because I'm a 5'4 girl but I totally think I could do it.
I own a 1976 H D Bicentennial F X E Shovelhead just like the one in the picture, just after my 21st. B- day still have it. Decal on the tank is faded but I love it along with its baby my 02 fat boy .
My father also gave me the same bike, he had old knuckleheads. But he sold them and said you can have that pos. But it ended up being really nice bike mine only has 5 thousand original miles. I want to get split tanks on it, the speedometer is ugly.
I disagree on the ugly speedometer. My dad has a 1976 Harley 1200 fx superglide mostly original. He had it a couple of years after this bike was made and my dad is 73 yrs old. I love that bike and it sounds awesome. Sounds much better than any new Harley or most Harleys.

I'd put elec. ignition on it and an oil cooler -- that's it! The tank decals tended to fade, this one's been kept inside, that's for sure. Very nice.
I remember seeing the adds for this in '76 (I was 15 and getting the itch to ride). That is one clean ride.. would love to own that piece of history.
