- Well here it is. This game is already announced with a season pass and DLC, who knows what the retention rates are going to be for that.

After Eugene went to the roof and found the disgusting adulterated bottle of O-range, he realized that the commercial had been sabotaged. I guess Tim just wanted to rub it in, for whatever reason.
The lower guard at the TV station (who I don't think is even part of Pinnacle Security) was crying because he got pepper sprayed by Tesa, not because of any Idol shenanigans.
What a convoluted sequence of events - two subversions of the plan that were stopped by pure coincidence and idiocy (Eugene's)
That's why I love Eugene, he inadvertently saved the world 😂
So the thing with O-Range switch up was the OG plan was to give the good memories from the models as an ad. Tim and Marie wanted to sabotage Eugene's idea, so before they left Marie distracted that one guard and Tim drank a sabotaged O-Range and replaced the good memory with a bad one. Later they gave a fake note to draw Eugene to the roof and the message up there revealed their sabotage. He was meant to be trapped up there unable to stop it, but Eugene was reckless and climbed up to the antenna.
The motivations for sabotaging the commercial were:
- Westlake: to get back at Eugene for getting her demoted and stealing her team, she gave Spender the keycode for the I.D.O.L.
- Spender: to get back at Eugene for changing the timespan of the memories taken during the broadcast and causing her wife to find out he was having an affair. He intentionally drank (and subsequently vomited) a O-Range spoiled with a rotten egg, and then had his memories recorded.
- Jack: to get back at OPIG for refusing to use the I.D.O.L. for the beterment of humanity, and becoming frustrated that his small scale experiments all failed because of immoral subjects.
strictly speaking Jack was trying to hijack the commercial moreso than sabotage it, and I think he wanted to get the IDOL destroyed after his broadcast because he was afraid of what OPIG would do for the military. but ... yeah.
@@sotek2784 Yeah, Jack told Tesa that the commercial was at 5:30 and to come right before then, whereas the project checklist says it starts at 5:00. (I didn't actually notice when solving the puzzle!)
Don't you hate it when you try to write a hippie slogan and it comes out as "steal their memories and burn them"?
to her it means give empathy, take hatred, which sounds much nicer, but doesn't solve the fact you are on fire
As proved by jumanji, putting dangerous things underground always work to make it forever inaccessible
The lenses broken simply mean memory transfer will not work... the rest of the idol's functions should still be intact. I wonder what will happen...
@@malcolmw121 Maybe other lenses exist too
Once again, the man who saved the world has no idea he has done so.
Once again, the mastermind is undone by an obnoxious idiot
I think a few times after one of the previous episodes cases he has forgotten that memories on disks don’t get removed just copied
So, just like the end of last game, it wasn’t some cunning hero who saved the world but an idiot who happened to be in the right place at the right time and had no idea what he was doing.
Icely speedrunning filling the scroll without even looking at the scene will never not be funny.
The villains of both Golden Idol games are similar in motivation but also different. At the very least, Hunter Wolf was selfless in a slightly twisted way.
Generally, the characters in Rise of the Golden Idol seem a lot more empathetic to me, while Case of the Golden Idol was more dark comedy. (Though this game also has a bit of that.)
i just had a thought. the "matter" symbol could also mean "physical" as in our plane. what if there was another symbol that could have been used in place of it, like a "spirit" or an "astral" symbol? what if the ancient lemurians tried messing with the astral plane at one point?
If I’m not mistaken in the first game there was an ‘air’ symbol that could replace the matter one
Idea for outtro
"Stay I.D.O.L everyone for the next part"
this was so fun to watch. the story was crazy good....
The Chess of the Battle Advanced
man speedran it
right???
The nonlinearity is something i both love and hate about this game. If the plot was a little better it might have been a little less weird. It also shifts focus a little too much, i feel.
I think this game was way harder to follow than the first one
Icely was rushing and bruteforcing stuff a lot for some reason.
CotGI is a godot game??? COOL... more motivation to develop
29:00 why did they randomly misspell the character’s name?
I doubt it was intentional. Among the other names, Isaac is relatively easy to misspell.
