Wieteke van Dort, famous as a singer, actress and her one of a kind character 'Tante Lien', finds endless inspiration in her native soil Indonesia. Like many she harbors a troubling past, having fled from the country in 1957, but has managed to find peace within herself. Her artwork is full of melancholy and just like her music, finds beauty in remnants of the past.

A Dutch lady, Wieteke van Dort keeps on telling everyone good things about the life in Indonesia. I am not as lucky as she is. Although I am Indonesian, I fail to see the beauty of my country. Instead, The Netherlands is much more beautiful than my country is.

Listen, I have travel to many other country. Tante Lien is correct. Indonesia is indeed beautiful!
More than every country I have ever visit. Whether is Australia or Japan, for instance.
I am not being overproud here! It is true.
Of course, there's still many obstacles within, but it has potential to surpass Netherland.
