Purchased this card last month. Happy with the overall performance, comfort level, tech features music system. One gem of a feature was its rear view camera which despite not being a 360 keep stitching the images giving out a very good view of the parking. The agency now has shifted to Deira so will be taking the car for checks tomorrow. Around April - we faced a issue that AC stopped cooling. Took the car to service centre they kept it for a day and fixed it. Other than these no issues as such it's a good vehicle specially for the price.
That audio problem is surely a turn-off. Hopefully it is just with your test car or it could be fixed soon. Otherwise, many would be dis-appointed and skip this car because audio is very important.

Huge problem with car's acceleration! During Doha's midday heat I took the car for a test drive with the AC blasting on auto, but imagine my surprise when it struggled to launch from a standstill at every traffic light. This definitely wasn't what I expected. This sluggish acceleration is a huge problem, especially in this scorching heat.

MG has really carved a niche by launching this full sized mammoth just under AED 100k whereas some of its rivals such as the Ford Explorer and the Honda Pilot start at AED 150k. If this car proves to be a runaway success, MG should really appreciate the efforts of Roewe, the brand which actually manufactures the RX8. I am really awe-struck by the features and tech it has on offer and those hp and torque figures it has to brag about. However, those few shortcomings such as the uncoordinated speakers and the cheesy plastic quality might cost it big time as buyers have really started looking into those aspects of a car and MG cars never had strong resale value. These niggling issues might not allow the RX8 to sell to its fullest potential.
Have u driven Gloster as well (realize its being sold in a different market), what would you prefer gloster or Rx8. Even tough to me exterior of Rx8 is much better whereas from Blogs and videos of what ive seen Gloster has much more features then Rx8. Would you agree?
Hi Bilal, Sadly we haven't driven the Gloster as it isn't available in our market. I have seen videos and photos of it and it definitely looks great! I think the big difference between the Gloster and the RX8 is possibly the off-road potential that the RX8 has to offer.

Hey Friner, The A/C is actually very good and had no problems keeping the entire cabin cool. As for Lane Departure assist, the RX8 hasn't got that. It does have a lot of other cool tech though, like an e-book reader!

What we will say is that it did not feel underpowered when driving it.

Hello, We have driven several MGs till date (almost all the models they offer in the UAE) and we can confidently say we have never encountered any problems with the AC.
Great so do tell me about it’s performance, I mean does it feel under powered or normal . Due to its size and 2.0 Ltr Turbo engine I don’t expect that it will provide a thrilling pickup but hope that you don’t feel under powered.
I bought a brand new RX8 just 9 days back and AC is not working during startup, stops/halts, and during long drives!!! I took the car to the showroom and they don’t know what the problem is🧐 they will probably change the compressor after couple of days.... it’s very very disappointing 😓
Hi Biplob, We haven't heard of any such thing, especially since MG has a regional office in the Dubai, I'm sure they have managed the parts supply quite effectively. Either way, this is something the spare parts department will quickly be able to answer for you.

Do you also find that the steering wheel vibrates when driving over 110km/h? I'm trying to figure out if this is a common problem or not. The dealership and service shop for MG in Qatar tells me that it is because its built on the Maxus truck chassis and its just something it does, witch does not sound right to me.
Hey Nicolaas, To be honest with you, we didn't feel any such vibration when we were driving the car. Yes, it does drive like a typical truck-based SUV (vague steering, noticeable body roll, etc) but there wasn't vibration harsh enough for us to notice.
I believe MG is not actually a chinese car. It is a British Car but manufactured from China. Like Apple, we can't define that Apple is a Chinese Mobile because it was manufactured in China.
Perhaps but this car is a Chinese Car with an MG Badge. The actual name of this car is the SAIC Roewe RX8. MG did nothing related to the design or Performance from what i can see. I am looking forward to getting one next year provided they have fixed the Radio issue as this car is very impressive.

Sometimes I'm driving in the middle of hot afternoon then the AC changed to Fan. I am really suffering with this defect especially I'm in Saudi Arabia. I triend to bring it to the service center but after few days of waiting and returning my car, the issue is still the same, basically they haven't fixed it. 2nd, The side mirror is adjusting downward automatically when reversing and it returns when u went to drive mode but the issue is it's malfunctioning sometimes, the side mirror is not returning to its original postion. 3rd, Adjusting volume from steering wheel is not working sometimes. 4th, There is no auto-connect bluetooth. 5th, The receiver hears cracking sounds when using car bluetooth call. 6th, The cameras looks very cheap. The resolution is so bad.

Do you also find that the steering wheel vibrates when driving over 110km/h? I'm trying to figure out if this is a common problem or not. The dealership and service shop for MG in Qatar tells me that it is because its built on the Maxus truck chassis and its just something it does, witch does not sound right to me.

To be honest with you, we didn't feel any such vibration when we were driving the car. Yes, it does drive like a typical truck-based SUV (vague steering, noticeable body roll, etc) but there wasn't vibration harsh enough for us to notice.

I believe MG is not actually a chinese car. It is a British Car but manufactured from China. Like Apple, we can't define that Apple is a Chinese Mobile because it was manufactured in China.
Perhaps but this car is a Chinese Car with an MG Badge. The actual name of this car is the SAIC Roewe RX8. MG did nothing related to the design or Performance from what i can see. I am looking forward to getting one next year provided they have fixed the Radio issue as this car is very impressive.
@@SamA-cy8eu I just purchased last month. I am facing lot of issues. First, the most frustrating issue I am facing is the AC. The temperature is changing automatically. Sometimes I'm driving in the middle of hot afternoon then the AC changed to Fan. I am really suffering with this defect especially I'm in Saudi Arabia. I triend to bring it to the service center but after few days of waiting and returning my car, the issue is still the same, basically they haven't fixed it. 2nd, The side mirror is adjusting downward automatically when reversing and it returns when u went to drive mode but the issue is it's malfunctioning sometimes, the side mirror is not returning to its original postion. 3rd, Adjusting volume from steering wheel is not working sometimes. 4th, There is no auto-connect bluetooth. 5th, The receiver hears cracking sounds when using car bluetooth call. 6th, The cameras looks very cheap. The resolution is so bad.

I hope the Saudi MG Dealer is able to fix the issues or provide you with a replacement vehicle, as this many issues is unacceptable. I've been using a Chery Arrizo 7 for the past 8 years in the UAE with no problems so I thought this would be a good replacement.

We have reviewed both cars and would urge you to watch both videos to get an in-depth understanding of each. If we had to pick one, it would be the RX8 only because the Haval H9 is a very dated vehicle.
