Reflecmedia showed us a neat little chromakey solution at NAB 2016 (and by little we mean you can hold it in the palm of your hand). You'll of course need a backdrop too, but the reflective gray one they sell is a lot more flexible (and works in a variety of conditions). The LED ring itself is placed right around the front of your lens and shines either blue or green light towards your subject, reflecting off gray fabric background called Chromatte.
Yup, no spillage on this dude's hair
@Jason Jenkins epic comeback
always the same story: they will end up selling 50 of them throughout the next few months,.... if they would be reasonable with the pricing , lets say around the light 50$ the backdrop 50-100$, they would sell 5000 sets in the next few months and make a huge profit only then. I will wait until they almost go bankrupt , that's when they will lower the pricing,... or when the Chinese version will come out... like everyone else out there...
Do you get a green ring on reflective materials such as glasses while being filmed?
Green screen, £20. I think I know which one I'll be getting.
This is amazing! You still do need that reflective matte for the background, but it's still an amazing thing!
$1900?!?!? Next.
+PreacherSki chinese version coming soon
Antonios Papantoniou any idea on how much?
If you've ever actually tried to film a lot of green screen footage and dealt with all the extra lighting, the uneven shadows, the wrinkles, etc. you'd see how it's well worth it.
Aria A I am talking from a small UA-camr perspective.
I'm selling a few sets for real cheap if price is an issue.
show the screen he's talking about!!!
Omg where have I been this whole time. This IS magic!

Reflecmedia have a highly portable set up - 10mins and you have excellent green screen, a 2m x 2m pop up backdrop.
50 bucks tech and they're selling in thousands
Yea your right, I wonder if their reflection material is better then the normal reflection material ? And I wonder if the ring light will be strong enough for a massive wearhouse style size reflective material like 100ft x 100ft or bigger ?
@@MarcusJ973 like reflective tape? I own this and tried using it for a floor mat (versus paying £700 for their mat) it didn't work, even tried Green reflective tape.
Think it's true, they use some special half bowl shaped glass beads hand crafted by extinct lepricorns from The lost city of gold
@@mulls2go damn. Lol
@@MarcusJ973 I bought the mat for £500 and it wasn't as reflective as the backdrop. So might work as a vertical backdrop
This is all connected back to the Amiga Videotoaster...
