Kennan's solo reviews are so much better and natural than when he's with Doug. He seems to be warming up well to the channel, and I especially love his technical insight on the cars he reviews
Great reviewer for a great car. I liked it. Mixing „Quirks and features“ with „facts and figures“ didn’t work for me. But either of them alone… yes, please!
It will be great when Kennan develops his own natural "quirks and features". I still feel he is largely following the Doug mold for these reviews -- I'm looking forward to seeing him be his authentic self. But that will come with time.
This is the format Kennan needed. Quick, deep dives, differentiated from Doug's standard video type. These are feeling much more natural. I'm looking forward to more in the future.
Learned a ton and really pleased that Kennan is finding his groove. That mercedes is georgous! It's great to see so many positive comments and rightly deserved! Takes determination and guts to not be particularly liked at first as people love Doug so much in the beginning. Not as a person but a change in the channel format and finding your own style. Also finding your own style, over coming nerves and just being your authentic self. Look forward to seeing more in depth videos! All the best going forward Kenneth as you know a few things Doug doesn't. However if your reading this Doug - we still love you man!
I'm willing to bet in 50 year's time this will be as sought after as the original 300SL. A true classic. I also want to state that I love the longer history lesson on these vehicles.
It'll be interesting to see if these can be kept running for 50 years. Electronic components and plastics degrade. A 300SL will run as long as there are people who know how to put a carburetor together and set timing.
@bwofficial1776 for the people who could afford one assuming it only increases in value, will likely have them restored by Mercedes-Benz. I see your point but I don't think that will be an issue.
Kennan, hate to say it but you're wrong about the M156 being in the G wagon. The G had the M113K supercharged V8, skipped the M156, then went right to the M157 twin turbo 5.5L.
i was amongst the first ones to criticise Kennan, although i must apologise as he got sooo much better with time and now i really enjoy videos with him. for real. hats off to him.
A lot of the negative reception came from his videos with Doug where he sounded just like Doug. These solo videos where he can show his own personality are better.
Daddy Doug better watch out, Kennan may end up surpassing him. This SLS retrospective and insight was fantastic, better for those of us into the mechanical details and history side of these models. That car is one of the greatest modern Mercedes, gorgeous styling and brilliant engine. Couldn't ask for much more...except for gullwing doors in the case, lol.
I'm 22 years old and I just recently started taking pictures of cars at dealerships for their online inventory (think the pictures you get when you're shopping online either through their site or an aggregator site). My 3rd week on the job, I get sent to my local Mercedes dealer and they had a 2012 (same year as my V6 Camry that I daily drive for comparison) that needed to be shot in their photo booth before being put up for sale. The sweat and anxiety I felt moving this car around this tightly packed Mercedes lot having never driven anything that long before was insane... I would have loved to test drive it out on the highway but I don't think I've got the right insurance for that 😆 even having only driven 25-30mph in one, I could tell that this was a SPECIAL car
I need Kennan in the thumb nail!! I almost passed this video up until I realized what channel it was. The personalities ARE the channel identity and that makes me watch … not the cars, as it how your team there at Doug’s World talk about the vehicles that matter most and differentiates this from other car channels Be it Doug, Alanis, Kennan or whoever from Team Doug!
Didnt know you did solo stuff on here ! great video. I was about to say it felt short then i realised it was 15 mins. it just flew by . I usually skip Dougs driving bits, but this felt integral to the video. like how you would never think to skip the driving in top gear. Its about the story of the drive not just the feel. Excellent video
Now that you mentioned the Dodge Viper connection, I can't stop seeing it. This is literally a Viper in Merc clothing. The Daimler-Chrysler joint ownership paid off.
Ok, as a car nerd myself Kenan is awesome and I can really get nerdy. That being said I think having Doug review cars for their quirkiness and Kenan reviewing cars for their history is exactly how it should be! Not that the duo reviews were bad but they just conflicted with the audience a little too much i think,
Kennan is great to watch when he's not trying to copy Doug. These videos are great, love how informative they are on the actual vehicle background and engineering
From his first appearance with Doug it's been apparent that Kennan knows his stuff and is passionate about cars. It's cool seeing him come into his own in front of the camera.
I understand that most people will want the coupe due to the doors but the convertible isn’t as showy and that might be more interesting for some buyers. Which is typically backwards when you think of most models when it’s coupe vs convertible.
You did a huge disservice to this car by not downshifting it once. The best part of the roadster version of this car is spamming the downshift paddles for the insane noise it makes.
Gotta be honest, if this was a Doug video I wouldn't be interested at all, since I pretty much know what I will get out of it. But with Kennan, that's another story, loved the way he talked about the history of the E36 M3 in the US and all the details of why the engine and some components were different and why, with the European one. Details like that make all the difference IMO.
Kennan the only difference between you and Doug is that you didn’t say “Thisss is”. I mean that as a complement!! The more I listen to you I think you need to bid on this car.
Many many years ago. Doug also focused on quirks and features, Kennan hits a few different points. Together you should have a really good picture about the SLS.
great car and great video! if I might suggest something I'd say to avoid using the brand name so much, felt a little too formal hearing 'mercedes-benz' every few words. maybe saying just 'mercedes' would sound more conversational. I always enjoy your driving segments since they sound more relaxed and laid back
This is so informative. Thanks Kennan!
Kennan's solo reviews are so much better and natural than when he's with Doug. He seems to be warming up well to the channel, and I especially love his technical insight on the cars he reviews
I came here to say the exact same thing. Thought Kennan came off as odd in Doug's videos, but by himself got a good vibe. Nice job dude.
Great reviewer for a great car. I liked it. Mixing „Quirks and features“ with „facts and figures“ didn’t work for me. But either of them alone… yes, please!
Doug is a superstar in car youtuber now. His fame kind of intimitate other people. Not saying Doug himself intimitates others...
It will be great when Kennan develops his own natural "quirks and features". I still feel he is largely following the Doug mold for these reviews -- I'm looking forward to seeing him be his authentic self. But that will come with time.
Definitely agree with this
Kennan is just getting better and better, glad he's becoming his own spinoff of the such well refined format.
This is the format Kennan needed. Quick, deep dives, differentiated from Doug's standard video type. These are feeling much more natural. I'm looking forward to more in the future.
More to come!
I have watched Doug for years on UA-cam - congratulations on developing Cars & Bigs from a business point of view it is genius.
Thank you!

We thought y’all would appreciate that about the cool cars that we feature.
@@carsandbids Absolutely! Keep them coming. There's room for both this and Doug's format. Thanks!
I second that feeling.
Doing a great job man. Love your videos and the history and nerdy bits are the best
Kennan, hate to say it but you're wrong about the M156 being in the G wagon. The G had the M113K supercharged V8, skipped the M156, then went right to the M157 twin turbo 5.5L.

Kennan is really great. Really coming into his own. Bravo sir👏👏👏👏 looking forward to the future of your content. 🙂
Thanks so much!
6:12 , the G63 Never came with the 6.2, only the 5.5 Twin Turbo unit, however the ML63 did have the 6.2 in W164 Generation
Daddy Doug better watch out, Kennan may end up surpassing him. This SLS retrospective and insight was fantastic, better for those of us into the mechanical details and history side of these models. That is so kind of you to say. Open top motoring with this engine is pretty amazing. You can't go wrong with gullwing doors or a droptop.
This is a terrific opportunity to dive deep into what makes this car truly special. And expertly presented!
Thank you!
I thought the same thing. I preferred the SLS roadster over the Gullwing.
Best SLS technical and historic analysis heard on the platform yet.

Love the longer history. Please more of it !
Thank you!
I wrote an article on Drivetribe about the SLS about a year ago and BOY did people LOVE IT🤯

We have his UA-cam face photo shoot in the calendar.
This is the right place and best fit for Kennan. Happy he found his home in the Dougisphere.
In the future this car will be praised as one of the most beautiful and underrated cars ever made
We think so too!
Facts & Figures - Kennan is big time chillin. Love to see it
Holy shit. Kennan’s cadence has improved so much since he made his first appearance on the channel. Good job Kennan!
Excellent summary of ‘what this is’. I wasn’t too familiar w/ distinction between this and the MB/Mclaren venture…thanks for clearing that up!
Didnt know you did solo stuff on here ! great video. I was about to say it felt short then i realised it was 15 mins. it just flew by . That intro was much better, more natural of Kennan it seems! Loving it.
Glad you like it!
Now that you mentioned the Dodge Viper connection, I can't stop seeing it. This is literally a Viper in Merc clothing. The Daimler-Chrysler joint ownership paid off.
Oddly similar right?
freakin love this format. kennan you're doing great!
Glad you enjoy it!
THIS is what Kennan should be doing. He’s so much better on solo work.
Kennan's killing it, let's get nerdy!
Kennan is kicking butt with his reviews.
Come for the quirks and features, stay for the facts and figures. Perfect motto for this channel and Ken videos, and I won't ask for trademark :))).
Deal!
Cars & Bids solo kennan fits in naturally
I always wondered why I loved so much this car and its because its based on my favorite car the Viper 😍
great deep dive into one of my favourite cars
Glad you like it!
Really enjoying Kennan bringing out the histoty of thr cars with pics and plenty information! Keep it up!
More to come!
I really enjoy Kennan's videos, keep em coming!
More to come!

That "hi everyone" will be iconic in time
Glad you like it! We are trying.
These deep dives are really good! I’m happy to give Kennan another chance.
Kennan is great to watch when he's not trying to copy Doug. These videos are great, love how informative they are on the actual vehicle background and engineering
I always loved the design of this car, even back when I wasn't the biggest Benz fan
It has such a great design.
Yup. He works out! 👍 Has that Everyman quality of the channel.
Great review, man! I’m glad you are doing solo reviews too! Loved the history background.
Great job, Kennan!! I dig Kennan’s style of review and focus; a great way to bring added flavor to the channel.
From his first appearance with Doug it's been apparent that Kennan knows his stuff
and is passionate about cars. It's cool seeing him come into his own in front of the camera.
Just takes time.
Kennan , you absolutely killed this review. I’m a fan
Thank you! Tell your friends!
I love watching UA-cam from alternate dimensions.
This is much better than previous videos. Be yourself, dont try to emulate Doug
Im a geek and nerd and i love these videos
I like the longer driving portion !
facts and figure, glad kennen found his own way.
I understand that most people will want the coupe due to the doors but the convertible isn’t as showy and that might be more interesting for some buyers. Which is typically backwards when you think of most models when it’s coupe vs convertible.
Doing a good job Kennan 👍 keep it up with the nerd stuff 😉
That's the plan!
Well done young man. Always tough to “take over” for something or someone that has been at the near top of their game.
We aren’t trying to take over, just add more awesome informative car content for nerds like us.
Lots of great info about these cars that I never knew. Great job Kennan.
Glad you enjoyed!
You did a huge disservice to this car by not downshifting it once. The best part of the roadster version of this car is spamming the downshift paddles for the insane noise it makes.
More noise! Noted!
@@carsandbids It was a great video on my favorite car! I just think that the downshift sound is incredible.
It was really hard to learn to appreciate Doug, but Kennan has literally no redeeming qualities.
Googoogaga
Like a Big Brother to my trusty SLK230! Beautifully designed and oogle-worthy. Nice post!
5:55 M156 was never used in the G-Wagon!
great to see you finding your video voice, Kennan -- really enjoyed this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Truly well done, Kennan.
Been a Kennan fan since he was first on the channel. He's bringing it stronger than ever. Keep it up.
Thank you!!! He covers topics that Doug doesn’t.
@@carsandbids I have been watching doug since the early days. Like the 360 days. Love all of what everyone bring to the table.
lol @ the facts and figures. I love the obvious play
Doug is a switches and buttons man, Kennan likes to be a little professorial.
Awesome review, Kennan!

Unlike Doug, when Kennan test a convertible, he drive it with open roof. It's a cool improvement imho
Amazing piece of Mercedes Benz, Great work Kennan, well done!
Thanks a lot!
@@carsandbids if that’s you Kennan it’s a real pleasure. Greetings from Spain ! ❤️
Kennan's getting way more comfortable on camera
He just needed some more seat time.
That was great Kennan! I learned a lot! Thank you!
These are very impressive. The length and width of the car has to be seen in person to fully grasp its enormity.
My favourite Merc and one of my favourite modern cars, as well as German
It is pretty awesome.
Great job Kennan!
This is most certainly one of my dream cars.
The long hood does it for us.
What an EXCELLENT review
Kennan is great
Love your videos Kennan, thanks!
Glad you like them!
Great to see Kennan again
Kennan the only difference between you and Doug is that you didn’t say “Thisss is”. I mean that as a complement!! The more I listen to you I think you need to bid on this car.
Kennan is finally developing his own style!!! Great job!!! 👍👍
We agree!
I'm not a Mercedes guy but this car is absolutely gorgeous. One of my favorite designs of this era
loved the development story!
AKA “The KENNZOIL”
Solid video but I'm going to need you to do something about that spot on the back wall. Driving me crazy. 😅
I really want an SLS with a viper body! Ultimate hodgepodge
great review, love his style
Great overview! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Fantastic review and video. Just add 'Doug score' if you could please. Maybe rename it "Cars&Bids score'.
Kevin did a great job on this review
I LOVE the SLS.
Of course Doug reviewed an SLS roadster before on his channel.
Many many years ago. Doug also focused on quirks and features, Kennan hits a few different points. Together you should have a really good picture about the SLS.
“A carbon fiber driveshaft, most performance cars don’t have this” *my old 350Z laughing in the distance*
Great job Kennan! Happy to see your personality come through on the videos 👏🏼 Keep up the great work 👍🏼
Thank you so much! Kennan is starting to find his groove.
More of this please
great car and great video! if I might suggest something I'd say to avoid using the brand name so much, felt a little too formal hearing 'mercedes-benz' every few words. maybe saying just 'mercedes' would sound more conversational. way to go kennan
Thank you!
What did they do with the old Kennan? Nice review!! ❤
😂
I don't really like the glass house of the SLS Coupe, but I would take the gullwing doors every day of the week.
Can’t go wrong with either.
Good presentation.
Thank you! :)
You're welcome!
Dream car 🤩
