Aron’s knowledge and willingness to share it with the world is priceless… Nothing but respect ✊
Aron is a true gentleman. His commitment to customer support is beyond anything I've ever encountered. I'd love to have a beer with the man one day.
I mean I know of no other CEO who hands his personal cell out to people and says call me if you have issues. Kifaru has the best customer service of any company I have ever dealt with no matter the industry.
I couldn’t agree more. He’s in a class of his own. I don’t know of any other CEO’s that are willing to do what he does for the consumers and hunters in general.
I’ll be buying a Kifaru pack before next season. I’m going to get another season out of my Dana Designs Terraplane X and save some money before I finally get a Kifaru.
Awesome knowledge, no chest beating, no ego, just love of the outdoors and willingness to pass it on! Thanks for sharing, God bless
Thanks for watching!
I’m going to need to start working a second job to afford all the top notch gear. Great info guys. Thank you for this.
Everytime I think about September or blink I gotta throw a hundy out 😂 I'm oilfield related and this spring was another brutal one 🤦♂️ should get a office job but the sweat
Kifaru makes great gear and their customer service is top notch! I've got 3 bags and two frames from them and three shelters at this point. Some may say kifaru "fanboy", but I say buy once, cry once, and KNOW the customer service is there just in case I need something. I can actually speak with a person. Not only a person that speaks English, BUT one that has experience with their products, hunting, what works, what don't!
Tried the mag44, stryker xl, hellbender, bedlam and now the hoodlum. This setup is the best offering from Kifaru, works so well, even as a day pack. Plenty of room, expands and contracts so well. Fold top is easily the best entery as well, simple and efficient. Absolutely awesome pack
I finally bought my Kifaru pack two years ago. I bought the reckoning with a guide lid and it is, without a doubt the best pack I have ever carried. I use my guide lid as a final approach/kill bag. If you cringe on the price, hey, you definately get what you pay for with a Kifaru.
Great to hear!
This is what I love about Aaron; Humble down to earth, Extremely knowledgeable, Ex-Military so he understands the load bearing concept most likely better than anyone in the industry, No bullshit approach and Proves it on video with a 140-160lb guy on the backpack. Insane. Thank you brother.
we love Aron - he's a G!
When I was shopping a pack last year I heard Aron and Dan both say that they go for the hoodlum.... I dropped the $ on the hood and although I have only a couple days out with it I do love it!
Awesome like always, that last snip with Aron carrying you was a great closer!
Just ordered my hoodlum because of this video! Can’t wait to use it this year!
Just added a Mag 44 and a few accessories to my gear list when at the SLC outdoor show, sold my old pack that was one of the other top 5 packs. I went KIFARU after listening to a buddy brag about KIFARU. SO I did my research and dropped the hammer. I have yet to use it but am looking forward to this year. Thanks for all of the Videos on the product.
I have always been concerned about packing meat inside the main compartment of my bag (3600 Kuiu) versus using my load shelf, my thoughts on a load shelf is the meat has the ability to air out better and it's shaded from the sun, versus being cramped inside the bag as I'm hiking out the sun beating on the bag just makes me nervous for when I get to camp I'll have a slime ball in there. But I totally agree that the weight of gear being put farther away from the frame is a hard pack out if your pushing 8-12 miles back to camp.... Not fun, speaking from experience.
Just picked up their deluxe quiver and have been eyeballing the Stryker pack for a couple years to replace my Eberlestock J107. Love the content, brothers.
Packs have been great to us. TC!
you have to start making blaze orange accessories. 1. we all dont use these for bow hunting only. 2. i dont want to run around in the hardwoods especially in the east with something "coyote brown" on my back.
The ending reminded me of Master Blaster from Mad Max!
Hahahaha
He Loves Mad Max. - TC
Just bought a mystery ranch metcalf, would have loved to get a kifaru, but I couldn’t see any justification for the price difference. People say great things on both, and I got a complete set up including 4 internal storage bags and 3 different kind of hip belt pouches for less than just the kifaru frame and pack.
Customer service is the main reason people choose Kifaru.
@@drunknnirish havnt heard anything but great things from many top brands. I think people just want to buy most expensive just to have the most expensive.
I’ve had the metcalf and I now have the hoodlum. The frame and belt on the kifaru is substantially better… no question! The build quality is better and the ability to customize is what converted me to kifaru. You will not suffer by having the mystery ranch at all. Stick with it and it will be fine for sure. Without a doubt the kifaru is better though.
@@BryonGus yeah I just want willing to pay almost double.
@@matthewkyle2534 I hear ya! I went to an elkshape camp this year and got a discount code and that’s when I pulled the trigger!
A 44 mag is my ideal do everything bag (east coast guy) plus I love my Urban Zippy for an edc bag.
Word. 44 mag is a really popular bag from their lineup
Still running a bikini frame and a highcamp bag. It just won’t breakdown or show weakness. Not a seam, not a buckle, nothing. Sometimes I want “new gear,” but it’s just so damned good.
Aron, Help! Super confused. I'm a newbie hiker - think 1-3-5hr treks on NYC forest trails - dirt, mud, rocks. I have no idea why Kifaru rec'd a minikeg (except they said it's the most padded). Female, 63, 1301bs, 5'6," 17" torso. Will def be carrying a light load (25-30L tops, but I hear ya...I started thinking I need 16in.). No dead animals! No guns. Maybe mace on NYC trails. A 24" frame for someone with 17" torso. Huh?? Was looking at Hill People as well as mainstream brands like (don't laugh) Gregory, Osprey, Mystery Ranch. I have back, shoulder and neck issues and a bad foot. With too much pressure: pain. Maybe Kifaru is overkill for me? You seem super honest. Be honest with me. The bags look great but they're pricey and I want to be practical and logical. Last matters why I came to you folks for honesty and wisdom.
The bags are legit.. They are definitely higher end but are bomb proof!! That said you should find something that fits with you and your budget - TC
Informative video.
Kifaru - Top notch quality.
Been watchin u guys a week....HOMIE.....totally dig it.
I’m kinda dumb but what bag is that in the beginning of the video? I’ve watch this video 5 times and don’t seem to know.
Aaron Snyder looks like the Hulk in that intro
lol he's a G
I love my EMR2
After my stone glacier bites the dust I think I am switching to one of these.
I ran a SG for a while. It's a solid pack, I like how the Kifaru rides on my hips better. - TC
@@ElkShape I just like all that organization you can get with that Kifaru and I am sure it is made out of a more durable material.
What pack is in this video?
Great video!
Which pack is this exactly? I watched twice and it’s never said exactly .
Pretty awesome overview of one of the many packs that Kifaru offers. If it passes Aron and Frank’s hard testing then it’s legit. My cousin likes the Stryker and is looking at the Hoodlum and Reckoning. I have thought about the 44 Mag, but for $60 more one can get 2100 cubic inches more bag in the Hoodlum.
All are great packs. Just depends on what you want to use them for. The Stryker and 44mag are some of their top sellers. - TC
@@ElkShapewhat is the name of the ack featured in the video?
Odd question, what pants are you wearing?
Great video as always. Even though this is an elk geared channel, could we see some whitetail/turkey setups you guys run?
Great suggestion!
What’s the difference between that and the exo you ran years back.
Did they actually say which pack it was?
Kifaru Hoodlum is what Dan & Aron rock - TC
What pack is this ?
what is the name of this pack ?
hoodlum!
I am looking at the Hoodlum but dont know how it could beat the Stryker XL and a camp bag. Advantages of one large bag over essentially a day pack with a camp bag? Interested in you thoughts.
Both work! One large bag would give you more flexibility for packing meat & longer trips. - TC
Your sleeping bag for high elevation Colorado fits in that small lower section ?!?!?!?!?! Everything I've come across that will keep hypothermia at bay during 10k+ cold nights - takes up half a pack !!!
Great video but you never even mentioned what bag that is or what the pouches are called?
How tall is Mr Snyder?
6'1" or so!
People aren't intimated by the choices, they're scared off by the price.
Hey looking at the hades 3 blade vs 4 blade which would you choose? 4 blade looks mean as hell but is it necessary I know you like the micro hades 3 blade just wondering if you have any experience with the 4 blade. I will be hunting elk in Utah
I have used both - I lean towards the 3 blade for all game out West. -Dan
@@ElkShape 👍 thanks for the reply love watchinh your videos!
"shoulder blades like a brown trout"
Kifaru is the shizz!!
Wow I'm early. Gonna be a good video if Snyder is in it

Hoping the glock thing was a joke......
That guy might know about backpacks, but he clearly knows nothing about firearms. FYI... Glocks are not capable of bypassing a metal detector. There are metal parts inside the frame, not to mention the barrel, and slide are made of steel. Uninformed people need not talk about stuff they know nothing about!
I don't think that's what he was implying literal Larry. He was saying they use the same material that is non-metal. Not that glocks are all non-metal.
Yeah, I think it’s pretty clear that he was referring to the polymer that glocks are famous for as being non detectable. 🤦♂️
