- To kick off September, Jordan Brand dropped a brand new colourway of the Air Jordan 1. The "Palomino" colourway is crafted using smooth black leather, and a premium brown coloured nubuck that has a very natural, raw and untreated feel to it. Got a rare W on SNKRS too. With the hype beasts droning on in recent times about how J1s were past tense I think many people were sleeping on these. I doubled up and neither of them have spare laces, I’ll probably add sail to mine. I also have TS highs, happy to add these to the collection. Psychologically it’ll be a good thing having that look / colour scheme and not being concerned about damaging a $1500 dollar crep, ha.

Got mine a few days early and really in love with them.
I have too many 1’s with similar color blocking as the Mochas (which is why I didn’t get them). I absolutely love the bred color blocking with this colorway…can’t wait to get my pair in hand!
Told myself i'm not gonna pay so much for almost 40 year old tech but this colour blocking is just so versatile! Got my pair 3 days ago and it came with only the black laces. Keep it up Sean! Cheers!

I own both Mochas and Palominos, the Mochas for Spring and Summer and then the Palominos for Fall and Winter season. There fixed the confusion

Just picked up a pair of these and they're very comfortable. I do have wide feet, so I went up half a size and they fit perfectly.
I got my pair yesterday as well and it didn't come with extra laces. Excellent review as always Sean! I'm a huge fan of you!

Saying you don't need this in the collection if you already have the Mochas.. is like saying you don't need the Bred's in your collection because you already have the Black toe's lol. Speaking for myself, I need this a must cop.
Now THAT is the best way I've seen it put! I keep seeing people say they don't need them cause they have the mochas and I who has the mochas already is thinking yall trippin! I need both!

Hi Sean, Excellent, balanced and knowledgable review as ever.
I doubled up and neither pair came with spare laces. Perhaps they were trying to save some money after using the quality nubuck, to keep to the price point.
I have both the Travis Scott and Mocha and I’m happy to add these. A lovely trio. The gold label doesn’t irk me at all. Agree with you the patina will be interesting over time with this texture.
Understated, autumn/winter, sophisticated vibe to this pair. Might add sail laces to add a little more contrast in addition to the sole.

Joggers or anything fall related these just go with perfect it seems like black and brown are the more ideal colors for thanksgiving and also Halloween.
The tag was gold because the Palomino horse got gold color on their body, it’s not great but I’d still cop. Great shoe
An alternate to Mocha AJ1s, Yes Sir! I am considering that point since I have seen that. GotEm in my hands just today, Definitely what you said in the review is there as they are classic colorway, great for Fall and looks raw rather plastic patina/leather finish, Quality is better than many other AJ1 Highs released this year. Happy to have them in collection. Cheers for great review work as always Sean. :)

Surprised I was able to get them well after they dropped. Wasn't that into them only because I've got the mochas already but that's also why I eventually dropped the cash, because I don't really wanna beat them to the ground.
There are many kinds of Palomino Horses and 1 of them has this colorway. Dark brown coats and Black colored hairs

i passed on these since i have the movhas, i agree with the blocking looking better with some cream uppers, still clean though!

If you search up dark palomino, you can see the horse has a similar shade of brown that is like the shoe

I like the Palomino's better then the Mocha's in my humble opinion I give them a (9) the only thing I don't like is the gold nike air on the tongue and ima need either brown or sail laces in mines dope shoe overall

Hey Sean, I noticed everyone's pair have some kind of blemish pattern on the nubuck. Would you say this form of nubuck is something that can be treated with a nubuck brush? I'm afraid to use one as i dont want to create more scratches

Finally, I gave up this pair as the color was a bit boring. BTW, I just got a pair of ALD New Balance T500 sneakers with black N logos. Very comfortable with surprisingly high-quality leather.

I skipped these, and I already desert elephant 3, archeo brown 3, bad bunny light chocolate, then a few asics and saucony in different shades of browns and greens earth tones. So this was an easy pass.
Passed on these for the same reason you mentioned of the to much black color blocking on these. Even though I really like the brown leather that’s on them.

I believe that Palomino applied to the Jordans here is a reference to a type of Cigar Sean, ‘Mario Palomino’ which come in a wooden box with gold details on, which would certainly make more sense when applied to MJ and his persona and penchant for cigars over an all-gold horse.
But let’s face it, at this point, some of the Jb storytelling behind recent releases is a stretch at best, a fabrication at worst 😂
plus people, you’re wilding over a golden logo on a tongue tag, I bet 80% of people cover the tag with pants like Sean does at the end of the video anyway, so 🤷🏻♂️

Sounds about right to me (cigar connection). A rare sighting of sensible comment on UA-cam. Also agree on the gold label. Minor and doesn’t bother me at all (mine arrived today and it’s blazing sunshine, so not wearing them yet, but I know it won’t be an issue). I doubled up, so have a spare pair when I run these into the ground.

The brown material is like a crazy horse leather material because crazy horse leather naturally show scratches and marks from daily wear easily

In general it’s a good shoe worth getting two pairs, but this all stemmed from Travis Scott making brown Jordan’s cool wether you like it or not.
No additional laces came with them.

Definitely a hard pass for me, they do not look good at all on feet, leather is a basic genuine leather and Not a full grain nubuck, super cheap leather. Definitely overhyped
