Have the optical for the astro phones ?
Hello, I have HDMI 2.0 ports on my tv, does that also turn them into HDMI 2.1 ports or do I have to buy a new tv? (when I have a next-gen console)
no it’s a physical connection
@@KanzakiToshiro-nv9tn No it does not convert them to hdmi 2.1
so question... can this be used to 1 in, 2 out, so say, a PS5 switched between 2 screens?
This is the second video I've watched and have learned NEEDED information, that's 2 for 2 so far! Our minds think alike, I had already ordered this but haven't received it yet (tomorrow) and am extremely happy to see it physically in use instead of trying to rely on the reviews on amazon cuz those reviews can be unreliable. Thanks a whole bunch man and keep up the good work, Tech Steve!

Thanks for the video, Steve! Man, I'd love to buy one that has three inputs!
Thank you for this video, Steve! I was fortunate enough to lock down both next-gens but I love minimalism in my setup and was unwilling to switch my 2.1 cable back and forth between the consoles. A year ago it seemed like these didn't exist and if they did, they were near $200. Just got this CABLEDECONN ordered through your link for $40 after tax, can't beat that. It'll be here just before the PS5 gets here so everything is gonna be pretty nice.
I like how you showed the adjustments that also need to be made on the TV settings end, rather than only the console, and while you were using this specific Samsung model, you made it very clear to show what needs to be done for those who use different TVs. Now I have a great reference so that I don't need to mess around for so long!
You’re welcome ☺️
I have this. Did not need to use the power input, gets enough voltage from my devices.
Exact video I was looking for. Thank you.

@@LucidSnapshots I know 2.0 does 1080p 120fps with VRR and 4K 60fps. It should do 4K 120fps if it's 2.1. A 2.1 switcher isn't out yet, if it was they would all say 4k 120fps!

Great video, Steve. I'm not a gamer, but this all looks very cool. Keep up the great work.

What length cables did you use? They all say "do not exeed 3 meters in total" which my setup would need a bit more than that... Just curious if you were able to experiment with different cable lengths.
hey steve, great video! i was wondering if this switcher works for the reverse application, that is 1 console output to 2 separate screens. thanks in advance
It has 2 outputs ua-cam.com/video/opd8KBhzSeg/v-deo.html
While I do not own this specific device, any and all HDMI switchers and splitters I have encountered so far are absolutely and uniquely one-way only. This is all digital electronic wizardry that, to some extent, is not appreciated much by the bloat of DRM/HDCP protection mechanisms, mind.
That splitting is somewhat more complicated seems obvious when you look at good splitters that do the job well and don't burn your house down - they eat through your wallet instead.
LG Oleds 2019 and after have 4 HDMI 2.1 ports. This a cool piece of hardware though. Very nice video.
Unfortunately most 4k Neo QLEDs from Samsung only have the one HDMI 2.1
@@ryanmichaelpower How tragic :(
@@ryanmichaelpower Hopefully Samsung brings over the QN95A to the US next year. It's the European Model of the QN90A, but it comes with a One Connect Box that supports 4 HDMI 2.1 ports. I'm not sure why we didn't receive a similar model in the US.
LG is actually the only TV that supports the series X and one X fully with HDR 4k 120fps Dolby Atmos picture and sound

Dear buyers:
Regarding the Arc function and eArc function of the HDMI switch you consulted, we are sorry, but the previous answer in the Q&A may be wrong. We hope to make another clarification here:
Arc function and eArc function are a kind of audio return function, which needs to be reverted to transmit, and our switcher belongs to one-way transmission. When you connect, first connect PS5 or other HDMI devices to our switcher, and then pass The switcher is connected to your TV or monitor. In this connection mode, there is no way to achieve audio return.
We have SoundBar mentioned by many customers. Our HDMI switcher has no way to realize audio return through devices like soundbar. Please understand.

Does this switchbox automatically switch depending on the input currently powered or do you manually have to get up off the couch and press the manual switch button on the unit ?? *(i.e, if the last device played was the XBOX and you turn on the PS5 does it autoswitch across?)
Awesome review! How would this switcher work with a PS5 and Apple TV 4k (3rd Gen)? Would i get all the audio formats like Dolby Vision and Atmos?
Thank you!
Ngl, I'm old school. I've zipped the two hdmi cables from the ps5 and xsx near the end and labelled, and whenever I wanna play the other one I just physically switch them.
I hear ya, but in the long term swapping can cause damage to the port, and hot swapping while any of the devices or tv is on can also cause a port to fail.
As an old school gamer as well, I'm glad that affordable 4K/120 switches that don't hinder any functionality are finally releasing into the wild.
Tv's shouldn't have cheaped out on the number of 2.1 ports, so shame on them for that.
@@mikewmoran84 I've been manually swapping cables for over a decade, never once had any kind of cable or port failure. Unless you're trying to blindly ram in cables with force they really aren't that fragile.

Companies are making these as bi-directional now too. If you have one console you switch between TV and monitor or two TVs.
If the TV is on a different input, does it automatically change to either the PS5 or Xbox when you press the respective controller console button? On the flip side, if you have a PC plugged in to another port and turn that on, does the TV change away from the splitter port and back to the normal TV port? I have a 4K splitter like this but it doesn’t do the above so I have to use the TV remote to switch between inputs which is a bit of a pain in the ass (first world problems I know). Thanks!

Looking at this since my RTX3070 has just one HDMI and 3 DP outputs. Before I bought a DP to HDMI long cable to my TV for when I connect it to that, but it ended up burning out after a year since it is producing heat all the time. A splitter might be the way to go. My PC kept making noises to tell me something was connecting and disconnecting all the time. Turn out it was the second TV which wasn't even turned on.
I bought an LG monitor it is 1440p and 144hz but the ps5 does not support 1440p it does downscaling from 4k to 1440p wich means I can't get the 120hz because my monitor is hdmi 2.0 and not 2.1 does this device work on it?
I currently only have HDMI 2.0 cables will I need HDMI 2.1 for the best quality? My problem is my TV is mounted flush and screwed in so it's hard to reach to change them

Hi does this work on Xbox series x may answered this question lots to go through.. I have hdmi 2.0b port Panasonic oled fz800 4k 120hz TV 10 bit colour.. But on xbox series x settings only do 8bit colour 4k 60htz. Needs 2.1 hdmi for full performance.. Cheers
There no benefit unless you have hdmi 2.1 and a 120Hz tv as shown in the video
Will this work with a 1440p 144hz monitor between a desktop pc and MacBook pro? Would need 144hz for the desktop Pc Forsure.
It doesn’t state that it will
Can I use it the oposite way?
I have to switch my HDMI cables when using PSVR, because when on VR i lose resolution and HDR.
So, could I do:
Source 1 coming with 2.1 hdmi from tv.
Source 2 coming with normal hdmi from PSVR.
Finally the other side of the Switcher connected to PS5 with a 2.1 HDMI?
No man

Is there a default port on this switcher? Planning to connect a PS5 and Apple TV 4K and since the ATV is always on, I’d need that to be the default.
It what ever side you have the switch on, you can click on my link and ask the vendor on Amazon

Ok I have Samsung - 75" Class 7 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV, and it only goes up to 60hz. Would this work to increase to 120 hz?
Only on Xbox you can override the settings and max at 1080p at 120Hz
