I have only been collecting for three years, this set does nothing for me. Just staring with the booster boxes and with the pull rates and what you could end up with no thanks.
Literally every set other than early CZ and early SV sets lmao. Sword and shield pull rates are worse and you get less.
Paldean Fates has Charizard and Mew over $100. Actually I believe most S&V sets have at least one card over $100.

sleeper set. I picked up my usual case but I had been thinking it was bad. Its actually not bad and we know a strong chase can carry. Lost origin

Hit rates are super low. It’s cheaper to just buy the singles than to rip packs
I’ve bought 15 sleeved packs just here and there and have gotten 13 hits. Unfortunately the evee, greninja, and carmine are the only cards I have intrest in which I have not pulled so ya pretty much if I want these three I’ll just buy them. Not even worth buying packs to get subpar hits.
Carmine has surprised me a bit. It’s a lovely card and hoped it would do well bc the illustration and its perspective are both out the ordinary very intriguing piece of art. but did not expect it to have iono level growth. Awesome to see.

Incorrect, on the eevee . it is not much harder to pull illustration rares in this set than paldea evolved. That set has 36 vs 21 illustration rares in twilight masquerade . so magikarp is actually almost twice as hard to pull as eevee.
Danny Phantump’s video explains why it’s harder than Paldea Evolved pull rates, pull rates confirmed harder, about half as hard to pull an illustration as Paldea. So, even though there’s more to hit, you’re hitting nearly 2 illustrations per 1 when you open Paldea Evolved.
We also don’t have the numbers on total number of eevees printed vs total number of magikarps printed. So your assumption of 36 v 21 being the indicator is just plain wrong.

I agree my personal rating is nearly the same. Masquerade is my favorit in the suv area. Realy strong Set!
Hot take S&V is better than SWSH and 151 (specifically Japan) is better than Evolving Skies.

@@doctorgap It means investors who hold most of the stock. Or a very large percentage. And when whales unload their wallets it causes a crash. Tho by the time that happens the whales would have already won.

Nowhere near an obsidian flames, many desirable cards in this set coming from someone who does not rly collect singles. There are multiple cards in this set that could have been top 3 in any other SV set.

@@Dire_Hit agree about jaded but this set is weaker than PE, TF and PR so no justification for the prices but I suspect it’s just people being spooked by what happened to the Magikarp and getting FOMO
Everyone says poor era until it’s at the end/done. If you really look at the cards in SV it’s clear this era has some of the best arts out there.
This set felt under-rated from the get-go. The trainers are great as is the Greninja and a lot of the IRs.

This markets weird! Idk who’s driving it but this is the ugliest set in all of S&V in terms of artworks. A few cool IR’s, but IR’s are massively overhyped and overvalued right now so it’s not even worth buying them at the moment. I absolutely love SV era otherwise. All the sets that aren’t Obsidian Flames and Twilight Masquerade are amazing.
