      Thanks Dan! I love fishing that area, have been getting better at figuring out the patterns of where and when to find fish around there. The first year- i didnt do so well lol

    Tough to go up against hammers like that. Pretty beautiful weather for the derby. Sweet striper and Togs. That flounder looked tasty.

      I have a game plan for next year. Rumor has it that youre allowed to fish the ocean again next year. This year the rules changed and you couldnt go past the inlet. Weather permitting-the ocean wrecks just a few miles offshore are the way to go.

    You had some fun out there, I see..... could of kept striper too... Baked fish is the best recipe. 👍

      They are tasty but have to be in the 28-31” slot unless in certain rivers i think. I threw back a few 21” inchers last week and a 24”

      @@paddleandhook you are right in costal waters 28-31. I used to Chesapeake bay size limits. 😀

      Thanks for the heads up, will definitely have to bake one sometime! I like it grilled then put in fish tacos. Trouble is, the only keeper sized ones i have caught are usually kind of sickly looking so ive sent them back. Its easy to find 16-21” class fish all around lewes and ocean city but anything bigger than about 24” has eluded me for years 🤷‍♂️

    Great video, the tourney looks like a lot of fun! How do you like that Hobie kayak, is that what you would recommend to people interested in getting a fishing pedal kayak?

      Thanks! The tourney is a lot of fun. There are an increasing number of choices in the pedal kayak industry. Some hulls are better for big water than others, some people prefer the recumbent bike style over the alternate pedal drive style. I personally like the outback, but am very interested in trying the lightning kayak (a fairly budget friendly one that is reviewed by robert field extensively). It just depends what is important to you. Theyre all pretty stable when youre sitting, but if you want to be stable enough to stand up, some are better than others.

      @@paddleandhook Thanks so much for the reply! Yes I am looking for something for around the waters of ocean city. I have never fished from a kayak before, but am assuming the pedal ones are easier since your hands are free. But I am not sure, do you think pedal is better than just a regular paddle kayak? I saw a channel 1fish2fish also has lightening kayaks, the look pretty nice!

      @@greyrabbitfinance i would recommend renting one. Oc kayak (west ocean city rt 50) has rentals i think, so you can try em out. I use delaware paddlesports in Lewes for all my needs (they have rentals too). Those guys are great and helpful, always around, and answer the phone when i call…Lightning kayaks seem all around decent. They use an older version hobie drive (patent has expired), which is good for cost, but supposedly less reliable than hobie’s newer drives. I hope this helps!

      @paddleandhook  8 місяців тому +1

      @@greyrabbitfinance youre most welcome! Pedal drives are far more expensive, but if you plan to fish to any serious level they are by far superior.

      @@paddleandhook Thanks, I am curious if you have heard anything about crescent kayaks, I heard they paddle really nice and was considering one if I go with a paddle. But now I am thinking about a peddle. Man so many options to choose from!
