    15 years for imprisoning his daughter for 24 years, stealing her life, her sexuality, and forcing 7 children upon her? The justice systems the world over do not value women. That must have been such a slap in the face for her.

    Some things you left out of the fritzl case. Elizabeth's first three children were brought up by her mother. They were left on the doorstep by Josef with letters written by Elizabeth. The last three were kept with Elizabeth because her mom would not have been able to take care of more kids. Also Josef had been imprisoned in the past for a SA

    I find it hard to believe that Elizabeth's mother didn't know that Josef was holding her and her children hostage she's just desperately trying to save her own skin i mean how could she possible not have noticed that her husband was holding her own daughter hostage down the basement for 24 years i mean was she in a coma or something for what other possible reason could she not have known ffs

      @seandelap8587, a very true statement! Also, did the father not realize that fathering children with his daughter was a genetic "Russian roulette"? I am certain that the medical emergency was due to medical issues because of the close genetic issue.

      I believe she was too afraid to acknowledge the truth though I have no doubt she knew what was going on. This is what a sick and twisted man looks like. Josef was probably very abusive to his wife as well.

    • @demethiaodom6837
      @demethiaodom6837 27 днів тому +2

      Could be that he was extremely abusive and forbid her to go in the basement and she listened for fear of the consequences of him finding out. I’m skeptical but I wouldn’t put anything past a thing who’s raping and impregnating his own daughter even once let alone repeatedly.

      Id have a hard time believing the mother claiming she knew absolutely nothing had Elizabeth been found after being held for 24 days much less 24 years. Even Helen Keller would be like, wtf you doing with Elizabeth caged like an animal within her house

    Can you imagine if Elizabeth Fritzl wasn't discovered and Josef Fritzl's dementia worsened and he couldn't recall locking them up and they remained stuck in that bunker 😮 and this case just had me thinking how many more crimes like that happened across the world coz since that quite a few more similar have been discovered since and thru social media we learn about them easier nowadays

      They surely idn't give a valid coherent reason of which their is basically only one which is self defense of some sort where ultimately if for not killing the victim then that would've resulted in that person actually being the murderer.

      I’m not sure where I read it or if it’s true but I thought that Sheila and Rachel had been in a lesbian relationship and Skylar found out. They killed her to keep it quiet. I don’t know how accurate that is tho, just what I thought I heard/read somewhere.

      I thought the same at first but watch the movie The girl in the basement. It's loosely based on this case. But it helps you understand a little better. He was very controlling so if he told them not to go down there they probably didn't and this wasn't just a basement this was a bunker. There were several different locks and I dont think it would have been easy to get in. But I still wonder if she had any idea.

    One thing so many people leave out of the Skylar case is she wouldn't let the other two stop being friends with then and was pretty much blackmailing them with the secrets she knew to stay friends with her. No they shouldn't have ended her but she wasn't just some innocent thing either.

      @@maryshoemaker8430 it was in there computer messages to each other. She brought up the secrets she knew(it was implied it was related to their sex lives) and how she could destroy the other two girls if she told them. Exactly what the secrets were she never said but it's generally believed from what was said the other two girls started a secret romantic relationship with each other that Skylar disapproved of (she was very religious, from a very religious family from a very religious small town). In fact the other girls relationship seems to have been what started the falling out between the girls but it was never stated clearly. It should be noted though since going to prison at least one of the girls had started a relationship with a lady in prison with them. I got all this from a a couple of deep dives on the case I watched.

      @@maryshoemaker8430 and you tube yeeted my comment. Ok let's try again. In computer messages where Skyler was complaining about the girls not hanging out with her she brought up the secrets she knew and how it would destroy the other two girls if she told them(and implied she would tell them if the girls weren't her friends). The messages were kept kinda vague but it seems the other two girls started a secret romantic relationship with each other that Skylar disapproved of (called it disgusting, etc). And wanted the other two girls to stop it. All the families involved were very religious BTW. In fact that relationship seems to have been what caused the falling out between the girls to begin with. The girls have never given a reason for why they ended Skylar beyond they didn't wanna be friends anymore or wanted her to go away and they have never admitted to a relationship either.
