    Oh my goodness, thank you so much this video. I'd always wanted an Apex, and finally bit the bullet when prices came down for Black Friday. It came today, and I'm pumped to get it going. This video is an amazing help.

    THANK YOU! I just bought my first Apex (A3 Jr) this week and couldn't figure out why my included optical water level sensor was alarming every hour when it was default configuration in the CLOSED position. I'm using mine to notify when the auto top off is getting too low, so after countless hours on forums trying to figure this out, I stumbled on your video and I learned a lot! Now I understand if the sensor is under water (good for my use case) then it IS closed. I was confused before because the floor leak detector is the opposite, when it's closed, thats bad! Now I totally get it and was able to change my advanced alarm config to alarm when my ATO_Lo sensor is OPEN, not closed. I know this video took you some time to put together, and I sincerely appreciate you for sharing your knowledge! Happy reefing ❤

    2 more silly questions: 1) I have 2 heaters connected to an Inkbird dual controller. Do I simply plug the Inkbird into Apex or do I need to plug and program each of the 2 heaters individually and eliminate the Inkbird? 2) Can you quickly explain the Set and Fallback settings in each port? Thank you in advance.

    • @niagarafirecorals
      @niagarafirecorals  8 місяців тому

      I would eliminate the ink bird and plug directly into the apex. When you setup the outlets just choose heater and set your set points at desired temp. An example would be 77.0 on and 77.2 off.

    I'm new to Apex and this vid was so helpful, so thank you for that. My question is; the first 3 sockets are taken up by fmm alarms. How do I remove those from the socket without losing them. Will the apex create a virtual socket automatically for them, or do i have to program that manually. How do I program a virtual socket if i have to do so? Thanks in advance!

    • @niagarafirecorals
      @niagarafirecorals  7 місяців тому +1

      I'm not sure I understand the first part of your question? As for a virtual socket, this is how you do it. Step 1 - In your Apex menu up top click on the button that looks like gears. Step 2 - Now click on the button that looks like a socket. Step 3 - Now click on the gear icon near the top, and you should see a drop-down that will have an option to add a virtual outlet. Hope this helps.

    I feel like this is a silly question for someone with your Apex experience, but do I program first THEN plug equipment into the Energy Bar, or vice versa? Thanks in advance for the help.

    • @niagarafirecorals
      @niagarafirecorals  9 місяців тому

      I really wouldn't matter, but keep in mind whatever you plug in will not follow your programming, obviously until you have done it.

    Just a quick question why can you not control both tanks with one apex? can you not use modules to expand it and give you the control and monitoring from one unit

    • @niagarafirecorals
      @niagarafirecorals  5 місяців тому

      Yes, absolutely. However, my first apex is controlling one full system containing 3 tanks so I wanted to separate this as a second system on a separate Apex. Keep an eye on up coming videos as this second system is expanding.

    How does the outlets on the energy bar coincide with what your programming. For example if I'm programming 2_1 for my return pump, what outlet on the energy bar do I plug the return pump into?

    • @niagarafirecorals
      @niagarafirecorals  7 місяців тому

      2_1 would be as follows. The 2 would be the identification of the power bar itself. Meaning all outlets would start with that 2, example 2_1, 2_2, 2_3 etc. The outlets start in the top left 1,2,3,4 bottom row left to right 5,6,7,8. You should also see them indemnified in the bottom left corner of the power bar unless it's the older style. Hope this helps
