If you don’t want the oil cap to leak don’t turn them upside down after removing. They really don’t leak just the oil on the cap will drain past the seal when it upside down when servicing. That took us a minute at the dealer to figure it out. Oily side down when it’s removed.
That 911 is a glorious example of a restomod done right!
Definitely
LS in anything is not done right
@@paulwade5853 They are easy to get, make good power, relatively speaking kind of cheap for the amount of power they make and fairly reliable. What's not to like?
@giff74 they're boring, reliability is questionable, but the thing that really does it is they sound horrible!
@@paulwade5853wtf are you talking about lol
Pete’s “day off” cracked me up!
Spitting that crappy coffee cracked me up 😂
Great mods! Have you considered a shorter rear diff gear? This might be my favorite mod on my BMW. Looking forward to the track battle!
Yes! A 4.1 ratio diff would really lift the Performance of this car, especially on a tight track. Surely a must do job!!
Oh man this makes me want an e90 m3 even more! Awesome choice on the wheels! Really looking forward to the track battle. Beautiful wheels on Dan’s 911 btw 👏
I've been watching since the Mullet Mustang days and wow that was an incredible montage.
I feel a bit jealous about the fact that it only took you like 10mins to take out the front shocks while It took me 5 hours just to do the driver side on my e90 325d. I started at 2pm and was done at 5:30am the next morning. I replaced front shocks, brake discs and pads and the water pump since it was leaking. Love how the car looks but my eyes always wander to that e34 m5, what a beauty!
This car is such a gem, I am looking forward to the battle! I’m on team Honda, but this car turned out to be lovely, no matter who wins, we all already won 🙂
Nice Pete, you deserve to sit back and relax. You've helped your friend basically build like 80% of the Civic.
Pete usually does 80% of the work on all the cars. As respectfully as I can say that. He's the more mechanically inclined of the 2. Not that there is anything wrong with that
I ran 295/30/18 +25 ET on the rears on my E90 M3 lowered on Ohlins. The thick look from the rear was unreal.
The Dinan exhaust sounds good, but the American Racing header back exhaust system sounds amazing on these cars!
they are a lot of money though. Aren't those like 7-9k?
@@augustortiz that’s right, but you can really never put BMW and cheap together in a sentence.
You should add a set of camber plates up front and arms in the rear so you can dial in the alignment! Makes a massive difference
The best thing for steering I did to my M3 is a Monoball Front Upper Control Arm. Do it you won’t regret it the rubber on makes the steering feel terrible.
What a stellar car, cant wait to see the 2 go head to head on the track!
Love the simplicity of the build. I am going against the majority of comments though on the wheels. You can't please everyone, but this would not have been my choice.
Always look forward to these videos on Saturday!
Those wheels are so so gorgeous. Loving this build so far!
Removes entire front subframe - "LOOK HOW MUCH ACCESS I HAVE!" lol
I'm using a 12mm spacer in the rear with the same size wheels. I think it looks better and squares up the track width. I also went with VAC bearings and have had no issues. Nice build!
Love how it turned out! Not a whole lot of mods that are needed or worth doing on the E9X M3, so glad you kept it stock+. E90 is truly the perfect size sedan!
Who knew bearings were a maintenance item? Looking good Pete
Great stuff! Just the right amount of mild track prep
love my e93 m3 best daily ever and the vert down here in socal is perfection the induction and exhaust noise with the roof down is intoxicating. I converted every bushing to an oe ball joint, ohlins r/t, every suspension piece turner makes for it, solid subframe bushings and i daily it. what a thing 120k mi and still rippin! got those same VAC bearings too bout 50k on them so far. get the GTS dct tune and get the right version theres 3 (check forums for version)
Very simple and clean build! thank you for keeping the oem angel eyes! both cars are great in their own ways
Love both builds! Can’t wait to watch them both on track!
Don’t forget upgrade the brake fluid on the BMW too though.
Looks brilliant!
love the wheels
Great build series
Great wheel choice!
24:10 those waste gates! Spitting flames!
Love the wheel choice.
Amazing paddles
The Wheels and Front Lip were great touches. She’s beautiful.
DP’s maturity level is 🤙
Love this thing too! I don't think I have seen a build of yours where you didn't knock it out of the park! Fan for life, here!
My saturday car video! Loving it!
I would really like seeing you do a rwd volvo someday😅 I think you would enjoy it
Next time u do an e9x make it a carbon roof model. It hits different
Damn. LOVE the wheels! Great choice.
this is one of the best vids on the channel. that porsche is insane
That M3 looks and sounds so good!
Great video!
Excellent taste for both builds. Try 3.62 rear end on the E90 and it will be crazy responsive on track
For me, is the best M3 among all generation👍🏻
I cannot wait to see the next M3 videos and the battle! Giving me inspiration to modify mine.
Looks great!
Those wheels are amazing
Ooo I do really like those wheels. Great choice
He showed a lot of restraint on this build and the result is perfect 👍🏻
The wheels are great! I really like them.
Those magnesium Fuchs are absolutely gorgeous.
ANother great video lads.... Cant wait for the showdown
Can't wait for the track time!
You did the "last" M3 justice 👍 that 911 tho
Get the painted reflectors from IND. Definitely gives it a cleaner look.
This is a cool build off.
Looking good, PT! But you might have a bit of an issue with 275’s up front, we shall see.
I'm not a BMW fan but, that is a very stunning example of one. Well done guys once again!
So nice, only thing left to do is a DCT remap for faster shifts up and down. Single best mod I've done to mine.
Love it !
very nice!
such a good car
That’s pretty cool and not overly surprising. I’ll be curious to see what the “budget” was for these. Also resale ? I know the M3 basically you could flip for what you paid. But what about a Type R clone. What is the market for something like that ? Would you be upside down ?
PT should be much faster coming out of the corners with better traction, but DP should be able to carry more mid-corner speed in the lighter car and be faster at the end of the straights (but wheelspin central exiting corners?). Could be an interesting match-up. 🙂
This is awesome. Would you kindly consider doing a similar build on an E70 X5M, please🙏
Can't wait to hear that carbon plenum! 😍
Good to see speedacademy is finally getting the subs they deserve. I remember a couple years ago they were getting ready to throw in the towel because the subs weren’t growing. Look at ya now!🎉
Pete sleeping in a shady tree😂😂😂. Using the same tire front and rear allows to rotate tires between track days. Great looking car
Dave’s giggle on the mini pull…priceless 😂
Holy hell thoae Apex wheels are incredible 😮😮
You need to install an Evolve Carbon Fiber plenum. The I take sound is amazing.
I can’t wait for your guys to install the carbon intake. The induction sound is insane. Makes it sound like a dtm car.
Looking forward to the track battle, but I can't pick a favorite between the two cars. For comfort I'd probably go with the BMW but its a tough choice. Nice series!
I'm so pumped on this. I own an e9Xm and my race car is a Honda Civic, so this is close to my heart.
Pete: We couldn’t do the rod bearing job in house since we’re so far behind schedule.
Also Pete: Skipping rocks in Lake Ontario and sleeping in a tree
How much fun was it repacking those bearings in the mount 😂😂
Can’t wait for the track battle, like how the bmw turned out but I’m cheering for the civic ripping tec
Beautiful vehicle
I'm still team Civic, but I do love that wheel and tyre setup!
One of the best sounding v8’s ever 🥰🥰
That M3 has single piston front brakes? That's a bombshell
All bmw bolts are galavanized, my winter beater E39 touring, all the studs come out perfect
The new wheels look even more blingy than the stock rims, though.
Need to add OEM center caps to those wheels. 👍 Such a rad car. Only topped by the e36 M3 and the OG n55 M2
I love this chassis almost as much as the e39 M5
Removing the rear spacer and using adjustable rear upper arms to run less negative camber would have the same optical effect while also improving your rear grip.
Stock suspension on the M3 tends to have a lot of "active" camber, meaning when you dive into corners in dramatically changes from the "static" camber it has.
I run -0.3 at the rear and the car is better both at grip & drift.
I'm in love with that m3... 😍 I want one now... 😢😢
I'm kind of bothered that it seems the world is waking up to the fact that the E9X BMW M3 is the best one for a reasonable price (Although still way to high IMHO LOL) sports car for the best of all worlds type of car out there. Although the newer ones have much more power the E90 (or E92 E93) M3 is by far the car to have if you're looking for a super sounding perfect drifting race machine you can drive to work each day and is very reliable! Great choice!!
My dream car space Greg e90 m3 dct. Only thing you need to finish it off is an eventuri intake with the carbon plenum it's perfection and really brings the v8 noise to life. Edit I just seem it at the end... Yes Peter good choice.
Love the APEX wheels!
Killing it
OEM+ 👌🏾
Porsche sounds so good!
Black woulda been sick
What wheel brush do you guys use? I'm looking for something similar to the one shown in the video.
As someone who's been trying to put off shopping for an E90 M3, this video didn't help! You've got a beautiful example! Are the front reflectors required to stay road compliant in Canada? Color matching the orange reflectors does a LOT to clean up the front end IMO.
My dream car right there. Love to see what other mods you can do to this but keeping it as a daily.
Are all e9x m3's as easy to work on as this?
lol that montage, sneaky Pete :)
The "drop your kids off at the pool" reference is gold if you're saying what I think youre saying 😂😂
Best. Wheels. Ever.
Would love to see something left field like an 89 mustang as a project car. Cheers!
