2wheel dyno works flashed one the other day with Graves slip on!! It made 75hp at the wheel, send him the ecu to flash it but get the slip on first!!and try to get a filter it might help with 2-3 hp more!!
I feel like this is the new gold standard for sportbikes. It's nuts, and it revs to the stratosphere, like a superbike. It's 400cc, so it's not enough power (and just as importantly, not enough TORQUE) to get away from you. It's exactly the right amount of power not just for a beginner but for just about any street bike. I honestly feel like this would be a forever bike.
yea i own a r6, and a 600rr and i literally cant use them at all, the rr is fun mid range but the r6 is going jail speed before i can use it, about to be trading in for this thing

I think a full exhaust system with a well baffled muffler would benefit this bike so much. Get the performance gain, the sound while keeping it civil enough.
it always feels good to ride a slow bike fast because your using all the gears, pushing the bike to its limit and overall just safer cuz it isn't as deadly as going down the street ripping 180+ mph

I’m definitely gonna get one to go along with my W800! I love 50-80hp motorcycles. Just fast enough to have fun but not going crazy speeds like when I had my MT09 and being able to go through the gears. Enjoy the bike! Haha

The smaller the engine gets the pitch goes way higher if you're into that. Try to listen to zx25r, 250cc of four cylinders It is awesome! but personally i like deeper notes from r1 and v4's

Yeah a few years ago I was on my zx6r with Austin Racing exhaust in a residential area, just slowed down for some railroad tracks and gave it a little gas again to get back to speed limit at least. This old lady sitting outside motioned with her hands for me to slow it down. I just waved at her 😆 I wasn’t even going that fast but it kinda sounded like I was accelerating hard for a second. On my current GSXR 1000 R, that likely wouldn’t have happened.
Ive wanted an rvf400 for almost 10 years now but theyre all 15k+ or dead. This might just be my forever bike. The perfect bike to enjoy on the street, enjoy the sound. And still be reasonable
Get a ZXR 400 engine. It’s also 400cc i4 but makes 65HP and can easily be tuned to 75-80HP with just bigger carbs. They were built from 1989 to 2001 but get the engine after 1995 as that one had the camshaft problem fixed.
I got the ZX25RR not too long ago. Traded my Ninja650 for it. Power band obviously totally different but ZX25RR is much more fun to ride and 650 was only technically a few more horses but heavier too! ZX25RR is 51bhp of fun! So sad they detuned the ZX4R for the states though. Basically, they are giving you a ZX25RR (which they didn’t bring into the country) for ZX4R money! Cheeky!
Removed the slip on Saturday on mine… honestly probably keeping it that way until something other than graves comes out… or their low mount full system comes out. Bike has ran perfectly fine without the muffler in place after 100 miles. Definitely too loud, but it adds so much to the riding experience that it’s livable for now

Removing the muffler sounds kinda like the old Kerkers we used to run on the CB's & K1's back in the 70's & 80's. The megaphone was wa about 6 inches. The baffle reduced the exit to sbout 4 inches. 3 choices. 1. High Rpm short in lenth baffle. 2. Mid Range Rpm mid lenth baffle. 3. Low Rpm Long baffle. The more back pressure the better rpm torque & hp at low rpm. The mid provided, well, dont be surprised, best mid range power. The high, upper rpm gain. The difference was only in length. Not in circumference. Not a lot of sound difference. But was enough difference that power in the varios rpm region's was noticipal. Taking the muffler off the 400 rr. Simply made it sound more like before catalytic converters. With all the curves, catalytic convertes etc. I bet it produces more back pressure than the old kerkers i ran. As they were straight shots out after the initial down turn from the head. Looks to me. If you want to keep, or need to keep the original due to emissions or preference. No need in spending a lot of money to have a name on the pipe. I have noticed. None of the new pipes. Allow selecting baffling that can modify low, mid or high rpm output. Looks like the cheapest solution is simply remove muffler. Loud Bikes Saves Lives! If sound is an issue. Simply get a Super Trap end piece. You can add or decrease plates for the sound or high, mid, low torque. $50-$80. What the big new name brands charge. For simple slip on's. With no choice of tunability. Is a criminal act. WTF happened to building your own. Or modifying something off the shelf. Kiddies nowadays seem unskilled & lack in self produced invocation. Better to be the out crowd, self sufficient. Rather than the in crowd who is dependent upon others. But thinks it's cool because they spent a small fortune on a name. That does not allow them to control sound and or hp & torque at the rpm range they prefer to have a boost at.

JUst bought my zx-4rr on saturday and had it delivered april 2nd. rode it 8 miles to the garage and there it sits until i can ride it. i did manage to put a brake light strobe module on before i covered it up and threw the key away. it was a super smooth ride. more so than my 650 i had before it, and like the height and positioning compared to the 400abs. im glad i got it.......def a keeper. No. im not a track guy, but i will be flashing ecu, getting a nice deep drone exhaust and an upgraded air filter. i want the power out of this bike after the 12k i dropped on it.
i bought a 2023 zx25r in bali. so expensive with the import taxes, zx4r would be mad. tried an austin racing with full system exchange, was waaaay too loud. placed on a leo vince was a silencer inside because otherwise would be too silly all the time
it's fine having it like this for the rest of the bike's life, putting any exhaust without a map on is the same exact thing and no one ever had any problem with that
Ya know how you can tell when a bike is a good, to great bike, and is going to end up being a legend, and have a cult following? The answer is simple, when every single time you throw a leg over it, and take it for a ride, you end up giggling like a little child on Christmas morning, and you don't want to quit, or get off of it like Yammie Noob. I think, especially once it's bern out a few years and theirs some good tunes and customizations available, the Kawasaki YZF 4RR is going to end up being an absolute loved and adoured classic.

I think, especially once it's bern out a few years and theirs some good tunes and customizations available, the Kawasaki YZF 4RR is going to end up being an absolute loved and adoured classic.

I've been running my Zx4rr with no slip-on for like 2-3months now and it runs just fine
The ZX 400RR engine tickles my brain. 4 cylinder 400cc, 100cc per cylinder.... I find this satisfying.

I say it’s a beginner bike. Once they get bored of the stock power, they can flash it and keep it! Getting a second bike for a fraction of the cost. 😃
A flash will not change enough. You'll be bored again within a week.

@m4ter it's plenty of time. I'm 5 months in surpassing riders with bigger cc on the track with years of experience. A 300 is a 300. Not much you can do
It has an O2 sensor… and probably a modern ECU that’s more than capable of self adjusting
