Handel's musical gifts were exceptionally diverse. He wrote multiple oratorios, organ concertos and other musical pieces all showing his out of this world talents.
In this Opus 6, George Frideric Handel shows great formal and emotional variety. The sources of inspiration are often traditional and polyphony serious or mixed with amusement, solemnity of certain slow movements, written in the manner of a hymn to the sometimes tragic gravity of certain introductions demonstrating a collected and quasi-religious atmosphere. On the opposite side are pages with a more pleasant appearance, reflecting either dance and entertainment (echo effects), or even more generally the new instrumental music of the time. Absolutely superb! My favourite of the Handel concertos, marvellous interpretation. You've taken me right back to the moment I first heard it many years ago. Still sounds as fresh and joyful.
The second movement of this beautiful piece was used by WQXR in NY as background music for book discussions. I always marveled at the technical expertise of the designer of the timing of the discussion as the speaking ended perfectly with the ending of the music.
If intricate gold jewelry could be turned into sound, if nature's tallest and most majestic mountains, golden sunlight, and luxurious waterfalls could all be turned into music, it would sound like this masterpiece by Handel.

The interspretation of this Concerto Grosso po.6 Nr. 1is wonderful. But this Concerto grosso is in G-Major, not in D-Major! Please correct this mistake so fast as you can!
In situations where there is more than one concertato/solo violin part, like in this piece, how do orchestras decide who plays the Violin II solo? I have seen it done both with the second-chair first violinist and with the principal second violinist.
