I loved this very much. Thank you! Thank you Joanna for your wisdom and love, you inspired me very much! I cried during your meditation but it felt good.
"Dreams are the touchstones of our characters." ~ Henry David Thoreau "I carry meaning. I care for family. I care for community. I care for environment, all life. I care for their future. I cannot just live for I. I came to be, because of what came before. And thus, I am now, for what will be -- meaningfully." ~ Paul Jung "In taking care of each other, we affirm our human nature, our collective strength and wholeness, our societal and ecological stewardship, our future. This is our soul.. our sole raison d'etre." ~ Paul Jung “To live a fulfilled life, we need to keep creating the ‘what is next’, of our lives. Without dreams and goals there is no living, only merely existing, and that is not why we are here." ~ Mark Twain "Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it's a feather bed." ~ Terrence McKenna "To have a heart, is a blessing. To have a heart, allows one to care. And to care for life, beyond your life, is a love that is ultimate - for it is boundless and knows no death." ~ Paul Jung "I love life so, I live today, as if for those tomorrow. The next generation depends on it. Protect Mother Earth too, as we depend on her, & she on us. Within, I feel nothing but love & gratitude. Smitten by life, I'll protect upon last breath." ~ Paul Jung "Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake." ~ Henry David Thoreau
I wonder what books might you recommend for someone who knows nothing about Buddhism to deepen understanding? I'm thinking I'd like one old text (sutra?) and one Thich Nhat Hanh book...
