I am no expert on sailing or racing. I am relatively new to the Americas Cup. If I have learned anything between this one and the last one it’s this: if you are in the lead against New Zealand then you can’t afford to make a single mistake. If you are behind them you have already lost.
I'm Māori, have no sailing knowledge, have never been a Sailor but I feel the migration of my ancestors to New Zealand, Aotearoa has been instrumental in the love I have for this event & our team. Ever since I saw Kz7 I've been enthralled by this Regatta. I love my Team & seeing them win fills me with such a sense of pride.
I wished our Government backed Rocket lab how we did the Kiwi America's cup challenge, giving the kids of New Zealand today a bond. KZ7 gave me a sense of of being apart of a team rather than an a bucket of drowning rats in competition and division. ✌️❤️🇳🇿

I realise that the commentators are talking about how annoying they find the sound of the hydraulic system, but I love it. It's extremely distinctive and iconic, and it also makes the boats sound very futuristic and 'agressive'

the audio has like 6 people talking over each other and boat noise too. Either make the commentators loud enough to hear or just play the ship sound. This isn't good for either.
What exactly does the hydraulic traveller system do? and what do the racers measure in order to adjust the sail with the hydraulic traveller? the announcer seems to think we all know this already - I'm assuming the wind pressure against the sail but never been in a racing sail boat

На этой яхте баласт примерно 12 человек. Видать без них трудно бороться с креном от высокого паруса, который стоит с большим углом в ветру.

The Americas cup was never clippers shipping tea. They were always racing yachts. Indeed the event is named for the schooner America which first won the cup and whose owners donated the cup in perpetuity to a trust which defines the rules of the Americas Cup to this day.
since the crew is barely heard, turn off the mic feed from the boat... having broken indistinguishable speech and the screeching of the hydraulics blaring over the commentary is very poor form...
ETNZ & American Magic had the fastest boats. ETNZ's crew made the fewest mistakes. Luna Rossa had slower boat, but a "better" crew. This is why we got the results we got. If Italy had Patriot, it might have been a different story. That's part of what's interesting in the AC.

@@johnmartin7158 I didn't really have a boat in the race, except preferring ETNZ over AM. Watching the races, it seemed that Spithill continues to beat Burling in the starts. Rewatching Bermuda seems to confirm this, but once again ETNZ's better boat, & better training won through
@@jasonandrews3756 Hi ! Jimmy is a great starter and there is no doubt about that. Actually I am a real fan of Jimmy Spithill. He has a great pedigree in match racing, where as Peter has a different pedigree. The starts in Bermuda were on a reach, where as in this cup they were upwind. Jimmy is a real asset on any boat. Great leader and he always tries to lift his team with positive comments.
I HAHA at America as they are no longer in the technology in racing. I feel they will change the race rules in the future to try and bring the cup back to America HAHA. Go NZ as like when Australia took race 1983.
@@daedster1 they had already made bad calls in the last few previous races. That's a risk they weren't prepared to take. Personally if they stuck to the left at the top of the first leg it would have been more interesting.

NBC have better coverage audio wise. Feedback goes unnoticed on here. People have complained about the audio since the start of the Christmas cup rounds. On every race video and the sound hasn't improved once.

Views AC 61K, TH 384K, COMMENTS AC 68 , TH 1700. that's just for on video , not the AC FINAL!!? , Time for a major rethink.

The second one. They store pressure in accumulators much like the ac50, except only for sailing systems. Fcs and rake is all done on the battery.
Can't wait for the next America cut. Everyone will have are fast new Zealand baot . But new Zealand will have something special at the end of the day.

There aren’t “faster boats” in these races, just faster teams. Saying faster boat denies the crew the credit they have earned.
