Really like these shelves. However pardon my ignorance, why the spline inserts on the supports?
Thank you! The reason for the splines is to reinforce weak points. Where the splines are strengthens where pressure will be on a cross grain in pine. Those snapped off easily in my first designs. @@user-bz5xq1pt8d Hi Phil. In the description are 3 links. Sometimes in some web browsers they don't show up as links and you have to copy and paste them into your web browser. I just checked them and tried them. They work.
The 1st link takes you to a page on my site where you can pick plans from the 3 different types. Depends on which one you want to build. Clixk on the one you want.
The 2nd link takes you to the same page. That seems to be a duplication I should delete.
3rd link takes you to the written steps of process. Click on the link.

What do you recommend for a finish? I would think an oil of some sort, since maybe poly would affect fit?
Thanks for watching! For mine I use a wipe on oil such as Tung Oil or Watco Danish Oil.

Thank you. Yes they are otherwise, based on the wood grain direction, those ends break easily.

Contact me direct at Gary@GLCrafts.com. Then I can send you a list of what I make to sell and what I have in stock. If not in stock, I generally get them made and shipped in one week. Please check your measurements for shelf supports. Does not add up to 16-1/2”. 15-7/8. Where am I wrong?
Thanks. I will double check that. Sometimes the measurement is to a center of a cut instead of the edge of the cut. But I'll look at those measurements and see what I did. Thanks!
