If macrame instructions call for 5mm cord, and you only have 3mm cord, decrease the length of the cords by 40%. You’ll end up with a smaller version of the item, but the proportions should be the same, if your tension is uniform. Great pumpkin, by the way!! 🎃
Thank you for taking the time to show how this method for the DHH knot is done. It will greatly cut down time and wear and tear on the cord. Love this pumpkin. Thank you for sharing. You show on the screen that you used 3 mm cord, yet in the description link below you show it as 5 mm cord. Can you tell me which it is?.
Here you go! I'm glad you like the quick method, I use it in many projects. It should be 5 mm !!! Thanks for drawing my attention! I wrote the correct cord size in the captions and I will highlight this error in the description. I hope no one makes a mistake... 😅🎃
First, I’ll admit that I had the HARDEST time figuring out how to do the DHH knot the way she shows in the video! BUT… After a few times around the pumpkin, it just CLICKED! I mean, making the rest of the pumpkin went so fast! I can’t really explain it, except that I think my fingers figured it out before my brain did, haha! And, she’s actually doing the knot the same way, but after the first few, she does it at a more convenient angle that ends up being a quicker way to go around and around and around the pumpkin making knot after knot after knot. I hope this helps! My advice is, don’t give up! I have faith that your fingers will figure it out after your brain struggles through several times around the pumpkin. Best of luck!! Let us know how it goes!
I admit, it's a difficult moment ;) I do the knots the same way, but because I first show them normally, then they look a bit different upside down. Maybe it will help you that the 1st loop should always be closer to the center of the project. If you still have problems, write to me on Facebook or Instagram and I will draw you exactly what I mean (I can't add a photo in a comment on UA-cam).
@3ArtiveSTL Thank you very much for this precise and comprehensive answer. I 100% agree with what you write. It's hard to start and then it goes quickly, magic ;). And about the knot, you're right, I show it from different angles, so it looks different :)
I would cut the green cords the same way as in the tutorial and I wouldn't cut the orange cord at all😉 you can make pumpkins with cord from a ball, then you will use exactly as much as you need 🎃
Here you go: braided cord 5 mm (There is an error in the size of the cord in the video!): - 6 x 80 cm (2’7”) green - 1 x 12 m (40’) orange - 1 x 70 cm (2’3”) green
Correction: The cord should be 5 mm!!!

Dziękuję ❤️ Hahaha znam to, jak już się człowiek przyzwyczai do jednej metody to trudno ją zmienić 😅 Grunt żeby pomagało!

I am having a problem with the pumpkin. It looks like you start the DHH one way in the beginning and then another way after that. Is that correct?

Thank you for your encouragement. I thought about trying a half hitch twice to save my sanity. @@3Artive

I only have 3mm cord, so please tell me how much cord to cut. Thanks.
Decrease each length by 40%

Great tip❤️ thank you for answering the question!
