If you want to build bigger traps, You have to target the Upper, middle and lower part of the trapezius muscle. I’m going show you how. To target the upper traps, do dumbbell shrugs. To target the middle traps, Do incline bench flys. To target both the middle and lower traps, Do incline bench rows and single dumbbell two arm rows.

To add to that: overhead press can be a great additional trap builder, if people actually did it right. I haven't done a single shrug in years and my traps are bigger than they've ever been, thanks to deadlifts, lots of back work in general and OHP.
@@theadorableswoleman4601 absolutely. I hate shrugs. My traps grow most from deadlifts, rack pulls, low rows like cable and tbar rows, and lateral raises. I've never had problems with growing my traps tho.

@@mitigamespro8757 ive been there done that. Its really hard to build muscle while training like a crossfit athlete because all the running and cardio kept me catabolic.
But yea if your looking to build you upper back strength and size farmer walks and other carries are the way to go.
Or try Y raise. You’ll feel in your lower trap.

Better alternative to Dumbbell Two arm Rows is T-Bar Rows. Also Deadlifts with correct form, Machine Rows, Shrugs and so on for traps. For Lats do Pull Ups and Lat Pulldowns.

Deadlifts. Definitely deadlifts. I ignored them because of lower back pain but since doing it I’ve noticed immediate gains on my traps.

If you want to build bigger traps do heavy shrugs and progressively overload them. Doing 3 seperate exercises for 1 muscle group is more often than not a a huge waste of time.

Number one
Dumbbell shrugs are done with the weights angle slightly in front of the body and outer leg (you video they are not)
Number two: do not roll your shoulders at all when doing the dumbbell front shrugs (you are rolling your shoulders a bit).
Incline bench flys an incorrect name ( those are called rear deltoid flys on an incline bench and this prioritize the rear deltoid)
My body is gonna be like that someday.

Shrugs are stupid, do chest supported rows or t-bar rows for upper back, bent over rows are for lats mostly(which you still should ve hitting just as much of course), and those reverse flys are mostly rear delt movements, which is better to do with cables or pec dec machine

@@Julian-mr5bx you know what I mean. Some muscles are more difficult to bring up and are more limited by your genetic strengths. For example, just about everyone can build a chest, bringing up your calves is hard af if you aren’t genetically blessed

Why the fuck is everyone overrating shrugs for trap growth. Guyz...pls realise the fact that getting bigger traps is by progressing on your deadlifts. With just shrugs you can't do nothing. Only compound movements can grow you bigger

No don't do regular shrugs for upper traps. You end up tightening the levator scapulae. That's bad for shoulder health. Do over head shrugs as this works the upper traps but not the levator scapulae.
