Sad to hear that the new homeowners want to tear down part of the house. So many gorgeous details... but probably too much to undertake to restore it.Glad they are trying to sell the doors, windows, etc. Glad you were able to rescue the old books.
Awesome finds Mandy! I too love old books and I bought several from the 1800's at an estate sale last summer too and love the smell of them and can imagine someone reading them. That picture for your bathroom is amazing! Happy New Year!
The stackable bookcase was just heavenly! & those 3 long crossstiched samplers were wonderful…..very dirty, but wonderful…. And pricey in an antique store. Funny how we all have a taste for different antiques f value. I’m not one for current fads….rolling pins, white dishes, etc… I love things created by hand, of long ago. Paintings, hand made textiles, quilts etc. I always love your videos
I love coming across places like this! I had the opportunity to go through a house belonging to a friend of my aunt’s. The house was built in 1900 and the the lady that lived there was 100 years old when she passed away. Her granddaughter was cleaning it out so her daughter could live there. They didn’t care for old and vintage things so I was able to get so many quilts, chenille bedspreads and glass pieces. I was in heaven there! I hope to come across another place like that someday!
I hate seeing old houses have to be torn down, but so happy they are selling parts of the home. Such a beautiful haul Mandy! Happy New Year to you and your family ❤
I just found your video today. I would love to go through that place. We live 8 hrs away, but did drive to St. Louis to buy a vintage car. I don’t know if the hubby would be up for a road trip like that in winter though. Gosh, what a treasure trove of great stuff!
