Gosh, congratulations on sticking to the project! I’d have binned it for sure! I actually liked the ‘tomatoes’ and think the bubbles in the final apple gave it some skin texture - you did a good job Kate!
Thanks! I'm a bit on the fence about the 'tomato' ones.. mainly because the red colour isn't as dark as I'd like.. but I might finish them anyway. That's a great way to look at the bubbles as skin texture. I like that!
Your very first contraption with the stick across would have worked just fine if you had attached the stick with some hot glue to the side of the container. Either that or make a lid next time with a stick or rod going down, keeping the item in the liquid, then taping it to the container. It will save a lot of hassle, in my humble experience.
Yes - very good suggestion, which I wish I had thought of when i started. I had to cut down into the side to lower the stick further since there was too much space in the box and not enough silicone.. It was a disaster all round, lol. I ended up putting something heavy on top of it to hold it down. At least if I try it again I know what doesn't work 😂
@@Swanstardesigns Those painful, annoying experiences are the best teachers. I think it turned out fairly well despite the setbacks. Next time will look like a pro ;)
Why don't you use a coat of glow in the dark paint on the green stuff? That would do the trick. For the oder apples sand them down with sandpaper. Then use yorkshire grit... look at a video of nick zammeti
Yeah, I thought about painting it with glow in the dark paint, and I did order some and tested it out, but it was so globby and patchy I found it hard to get an even coat so I gave it a miss.. but it was a good idea :-) Thanks for the tip - I'll check out Nick Zammeti, thank you.

I can see you had a hard time with this! But i think the end result is really good!
Thanks! It certainly was a learning experience, but I'm happy with the end result.
