    I love the two carved fish and a couple of the wall clocks. Beautiful craftmenship!

      Those fish are cool, wonder if they're one piece or if the fins were separate, not that it really matters much.

    Wow! That shiny table is so AWESOME, so shiny, no need for a mirror when you're sitting there, just like into the shine of the table! I can't believe those "small" chairs weigh 100 lbs., but I know you're telling the truth here, thanks Paul for taking us to see this beautiful Thailand Hardware furniture place.

      No one is going to steal that chair I promise you that, it is amazing how heavy it actually is.

    Quality furniture for sure. There are still some good craftsmen around. I'm not old enough for a rocking chair either. 🧓 That is a cool looking flower. Thanks for the tour. Best wishes Bob.

      There is a lot of very talented craftsman here, and they don't have a lot of fancy tools normally either, they do it the old way, skill, and hard work.

    that furniture looks cool, you can't touch that kind of furniture for that price here, my old butt needs cushions before I sit on that stuff lol.

    • @lifeinthailand
      @lifeinthailand  5 років тому +1

      Considering the price of wood here and the amount of work involved in making it, this stuff is a good price, and it should last forever.

    Very cool woodwork. I am glad I don't have to pack it all away, 555

      That stuff is crazy heavy, and it does get moved often, not an easy job that is for sure.

      You're not putting one of those chairs in the overhead compartment that is for sure.

      I had termites in my old house, they can destroy a house very fast that is for sure.

    Thanks for sharing! Lots of nice furniture for sure. But the one I have seen so far on my own, is not worth the money due to lousy finish. If I am going to pay a premium price I want premium quality. But I have a plan when we start to expand the area for fruit trees and will have to cut down some of the Rubber trees. Because lot of the wooden furniture sold at these markets are made of Rubber trees. :-)

    • @lifeinthailand
      @lifeinthailand  5 років тому +1

      I have some furniture made from rubber trees, it is very nice, I was told it was made in Burma.

    I remember the old ones, someone said they're varnished to look like hardwood. I'd see that on the thin stuff but the chunks I don't see how it's fake-able?

    • @lifeinthailand
      @lifeinthailand  5 років тому

      Some people think everything in Thailand is fake, they have such a hatred for the country they can't see how anything could actually be good.

    they were clearing away when you arrived. Surely they dont transport all this furniture to a warehouse and back every single day?

    • @lifeinthailand
      @lifeinthailand  5 років тому +1

      The set up at events like this, stay a few days maybe a week, then move it to the next one or take it home if there is nothing going on, they do travel a lot, but they don't more all that furniture every day.

    Would they help to ship outside Thailand ?

    • @lifeinthailand
      @lifeinthailand  5 років тому

      These people, probably not, but there are companies around Bangkok that do special orders and ship international. I have no contact info or anything but I know it can be done.

    Where is this road in Roi et , Paul ? I have never seen it driving around. What is it close to like a land mark that i can find, And don't say look for baskets hang across the road,,,5555 I do like the big rocking chair the one you like. I could see myself in that with a nice cold Leo,,,555

    • @lifeinthailand
      @lifeinthailand  5 років тому +1

      This is located on the backside of the government hospital, and 1 block west. I have seen pictures of the lights on but have not seen it myself, looked cool. When I was there at night the lights were not on, maybe only for special occasions, but the baskets are always there.
