Colorado is one of the driest states in the country and it's been a much drier winter than usual so far. There are usually several big fires per year, but never in city limits like this
Just drove through this to check on houses of friends in the evac, its tamed down a lot, entire neighborhoods have been leveled but the fires are manageable
So sad. Better. Would better brush clearance have helped or have the hot embers blowing into the roof tires/eaves? Reminds me of Malibu, Laguna Beach, and Napa fires.
No Jose, life is NOT normal anymore...and it won't be. There is much deeper issue than "climate change"... but people plug their ears and won't hear ...that's the problem!

Thoughts and prayers to everyone in Colorado, I know it doesp with anything right now, just know the USA people, here and around the world will be there to help rebuild. I don't mean in person, but financially, food, clothing, anything. Like I said, it doesn't do much for you today, but in the coming weeks and months, we'll be there to help! When we see these disasters, the only thing I can say is, we still have our Lives and our families. No we can't replace photos unless they're on the cloud, nor material things, we have to have faith in the man upstairs! Hug and Love your children because it'll bring your families closer, and we'll all help you move forward. Please remember, after something like this we all get depressed. Tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, and fires, we all need help. I'm not talking money, I'm referring to our mental health. Some of the hardest things we as first responders feel, it's something that all of us hate. It's failure, whether it's the loss of a person, a house, business, when it happens we take it hard. We feel like we failed our communities, our families, our friends, and our neghbors. Whether you have lost your house, business, or whether we weren't able to help put out a house that's burning, we all take it hard. It's OK to ask for help, I've seen what happens when we don't. I've been to way to many scenes where people ignore the warning signs, only to give up on Life itself. We take it hard losing material possessions, but you can't imagine hoe we feel when we lose someone from them giving up on life please, therespeople that can help. Watch your children, there'll be signs of it, moms and dads, watch out for each other, there's always signs before it happens. Depression, not eating, certain words they use, there's so many signs, they're there alright. It's were normally to busy to recognize them. The stuff Law Enforcement, Fire, EMT's, and Paramedic's see is awful, when we look back at what they were saying, how it was said, I get it. So I ask you all to do one thing, listen to wording wording, the signs will be telegraphed, the words will tell you, so listen!.... There's so much help out there, please ask for it. Alot of the stuff we see, I'd be insane if I didn't talk to people. I'll end with this, it's called PTSD. We see so much horrific stuff, and it builds, and builds, until one day we break. I've seen Law Enforcement, Fireman, and us Paramedic's and EMT's break. That's why states s important to talk about how we're feeling. Something else about PTSD, people think that only military get PTSD, that's False. It can be an argument between parents, if the children have never seen parents argue. It can be someone breaking into a car, house. It's called PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) do ya see that word stress? Losing your homes from a fire, that's stressful. I'll you a short story, 40 plus years ago, numerous kids on our bus watched a child get hit by a car. About two months ago, my brain finally gave up why I can't do Math and English. It was like I would try but mind would stop in those two classes. I've tried millions of times trying to understand why I couldn't, about two months ago someone asked me if my PTSD gives me full replays. I explained that for me, they come and go in tiny pieces. Never the full video replay, that triggered something in my brain, and what took me 40 plus years to remember, a toddler could remember what I couldn't. My brain gave me this, Math then English were the first two classes that day. Imagine something a toddler would of remembered took me 40 plus years for my stupid brain to give me why. I believe I may understand why the drop out rate in inner city schools is so high, because these kid's have seen a lot of traumatic things. It's probably why if the kids make it to 30, they're using drugs, or drinking like fish. The brain shuts down for protection, It's automatically done! Please ask for help, watch your families, and know, vall care about being healthy, not taking PTSD seriously, it's really unhealthy for all of us!.... Sorry for the length of my post. God Bless and we Love you all!.......
The wind made it so hard for the firefighters. I know there was loss of life, there is no way some people made it out as fast as it was spreading. Sun is just coming up so we are about to see what is gone.
@@nicolep2151 Nicole, I’m serious about PTSD, there’s diseases doctors call silent killers, heart attacks, if I’m ranking them PTSD is number 1, people truly miss and ignore the signs. People already have it from all the Covid, now add in school age children and kids, it’s apocalyptic for them! Not seeing their friends everyday, so please tell people to watch for the signs. I live close to where the tornado started, that traveled over 200 miles and wiped out towns in Kentucky. That night I responded to three tornadoes. As fast as we’d finish up with one area, we’d start hearing about Monette, and the Nursing home, leaving crews South of Jonesboro, we’d headed to Monette. After making sure we’d had people all out, a lot of us were headed home, and that’s when they stated talking about a tornado west of Truman, AR. As I’m coming up to the on ramp right turn to head north west, I saw blue lights for miles, that’s when we were notified it hit Truman. So I took the on ramp headed south, after finding room in the line, I merged in. It was rough, but nothing like Kentucky or Colorado. They’re showing video where people thought they were locked in at chucky cheese, only to figure out, they weren’t locked in, the wind was holding the door closed, it was that dang strong! Fire is a beast, it can create its own wind, and once it starts to spin, it’s almost like a tornado, where you have inflow and outflow. Praying for everyone there, but like you, I believe we’ll find horrific stuff. All do to winds blowing so hard and fast nobody had time to get out. Love you all, and hug and love your families. It doesn’t take away all the pain, just a little. For kids, find creative ways to talk about things, get them to talk about what they were feeling, before and after. That’ll open up communications, and watch for those little things. Not eating, not talking, sadness, they’re there. If ya can get a head of the signs, you can see it change people. I’ve seen career Fireman cry their eyes out, because they held everything in for years, we see bad stuff, it’s automatic stress debriefings, or they don’t go back on duty. Once everyone realizes it’s not so hard to talk about what we feel, it changed everything. It’s not about 1 on 1, but they can do this with their own crews in the stations. It’s all about talking! So when people, kids especially stop talking, worry. Get them in. The fast you talk about what they were feeling, the faster the healing will happen. God bless and stay safe! Rick EMTP
@@rickk6447 I know PTSD all to well. My father was a Vietnam Veteran and had issues from the day he got back from there. His PTSD led to him drinking to calm his pain, his anxiety, his fears, his worries. However, it made it worse for him. He died at the age of 46 of a heart attack. His PTSD became my PTSD. Clicking pens around him would come with a hit or yell. I hear a clicking pen and my eyes and mind go right to it (My dad was a landmine/bomb defuser). I also work in the school system and see a lot if trauma in these kids, more than anyone can take in. We do what we can but some will mask their fears and pains all too well. PTSD is still one of those things that no one wants to talk about! It's like a shame that people won't discuss. It's sad, it's okay to get it out and fix the fears within ourselves and everyone we come in contact with. We need to keep talking it out like you said so we can overcome this painful problem. Thank you for opening the minds of readers, we need more like you. Blessings.
@@nicolep2151 yes mam, I believe these inner city schools, yes the problem is drop out rate. But the monster is PTSD, when I try thinking back how I couldn’t remember why I was so bad in those two classes, you could drop a ton of rocks on me, I’ve tried so many times to figure out those two dang classes, and why it was so bad. 40 plus yrs later, and my brain finally gave it up. Prior to that, I loved math, after that, it was like there was a wall, in front of me. The funny part if there is, there’s certain things that can keep my mind focused. The first medicine, the 2nd theology, Stephen king books, I can watch tv, read, listen to music, know the conversations people are having all around me, but you put a hard algebra or math equation in front of me, or write a great paper, my mind hits a wall. People question how I can do all these things listening, it’s a learning thing, we have to toon out sirens, listen to patients, know what are partners are saying, and all the while we’re doing all these things, we’re starting iv’s, working on a second patient. If you think it’s crazy, in the old days we had to calculate drips and drip ratios, my mind could do that with no problem, I think it goes back to the type of trauma we witnessed. Oh I Love the lights and sirens, when those tornadoes hit, I saw flashing blue, red, yellow, and white lights till Sunday! The other funny part, I set my key fobs down on one of their Fire engines, getting Truman’s fire trucks out of their station. Well, we got them out, and about three hours later, I went to get in my vehicle, and I couldn’t find them. Luckily I left it running, so when I jumped in, the computer was telling me not to shut the vehicle off. Long ago growing up in the North, I was taught it’s just as easy to keep the top end of the fuel tank full, as the bottom end. And the last thing you want to do is run out of fuel. You’d never live that one down, so I had to get fuel. Some of West Memphis Fire personnel were at the gas station, luckily they said no problem, they watch it. That’s all I need, someone to steal a vehicle. After using the restroom since I hadn’t peed for like 6 hours, I was going to burst. I was wet, and chilled from head to toes, so I cranked up the heat, and headed to Memphis to get new key fobs. That was about 2,000 grand in fuel, key fobs, then programming them. It’s not about the money, we never get into it because of money. It’s about the Love of people, communities, and understanding material items mean nothing, when compared to peoples Lives! As for your dad, that’s how doctors figured out what PTSD is! It was when all these vets were coming home and they weren’t doing well. They were spit on, called baby killers, and dealing with memories. I get it, I believe when they really get down to the bottom of PTSD, they’ll find out, people turn to drugs and alcohol because of something traumatic that’s taken place in their lives. Something abnormally stressful! I know your dads not around, but if he was, I’d thank him for his service every year, and then thank him for helping us understand PTSD! You’ve seen what it does first hand. The one thing I’ll never understand, is how is it possible that the men and women in WWII, came back and and for some reason, it didn’t effect them like it did others in other wars. Now this is just a guess, but I have to believe it comes down to coming back and having to go to work to save the country, we had used most resources for ships and building planes, foods grown by farmers were sent to the troops, so when they got back, they had to work hard, they didn’t have time to think about things. I seem to see, that downtime may affect people with PTSD harder, than if anyone he person stays busy.
My brother and his family evacuated from Louisville very quickly, but safely. Sadly, they watched remotely on their home security camera as the flames were visible behind the home across the street. I suspect that they have lost their home by now, but their lives are far more important than their "stuff."
That's a pretty aweful way to bring in the new year...a lot of grief over the past mo the with BC floods, us tornadoes and now this and of course who knows all the other horrors around the world... Quote from theguyinmaine 8 hours ago Fall, dry golden, tall grass. Just like California. Try planting something else. At least in strips before subdivisions. When I was in California I immediately thought, "no wonder they have fires" dry golden grass growing along the roads and going up through the open forest floor under perfectly placed tinder trees. This has happened for centuries in the plains. Trouble today is people build in the middle of it. No it's not climate change.
You're going to get to see plenty about this one, unfortunately. Something tells me it might rival the tornado outbreak a few weeks ago, but I hope I'm wrong.
God Bless and be with these people and the community! Hopefully no fatalities or serious injuries! Just a quick question though, anyone else see a similarity to this and the " Mostly peaceful protests" that occurred? Not making fun of them or treating this lightly (the people of this great community). Just the way the MSM portrays certain events to illicit a response, or very little or no response, depending on how they report it. Truly hope, like I did during the "other" stuff that the people are safe. Stinks, I know first hand. God bless you all!

Just drove through this to check on houses of friends in the evac, its tamed down a lot, entire neighborhoods have been leveled but the fires are manageable
Amazing how high winds seem to come whenever there is a fire
Love & Pray from Laos🙏🙏🙏
Thank you
Prayers for the families. But how tge trees not on fire???
So sad. Better. Would better brush clearance have helped or have the hot embers blowing into the roof tires/eaves? Reminds me of Malibu, Laguna Beach, and Napa fires.
Life is not normal anymore prayers, for those people who lost their homes.
No Jose, life is NOT normal anymore...and it won't be. There is much deeper issue than "climate change"... but people plug their ears and won't hear ...that's the problem!
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV, Jesus Christ is the only way......
If he loved the world so much why does he revel in the suffering? Ditch that god. Get a non-,violent one
@@theresaromeo5484 hey Theresa ever hear of satan? He owns this world.
@@theresaromeo5484 God's Son came to this world, SUFFERED and DIED in your place and mine....this 🌎 is cursed because of sin of mankind. We're not exempt from suffering, He wasn't. May God forgive you your folly, because you do not know what you're saying...yes, The Earth is weeping and groaning for the evil that's walking upon it...and that place of the lost souls is ever enlarging itself, because many are refusing to come to the Only one who can save them, Yeshua, God's sent Messiah... But through all that is happening in our world today, as we see and will see things happening even more, even in all this that God is allowing to happen, His hand of mercy is still stretched out
How are the trees not burning?
OMG! How did this start? This is horrific, I have never seen anything like this! Where is this? How could this even happen? I am so so sorry for all of you there! Prayers for everyone there!
Power lines fell down from the wind and sparked igniting dry grass on fire
Sending love to all. I pray the winds and fire stop.
My cousin lost her house she lived in the coal creek subdivision.. sucks that was her first home and she and her husband were about to celebrate their 1 year anniversary on the 3rd of January.. glad both her and her husband are ok they can’t find their dogs though..
I’m sorry this is happening to these peoples homes it’s so scary just to watch it couldn’t imagine if it was my house 🏡
My brother and his family evacuated from Louisville very quickly, but safely. Sadly, they watched remotely on their home security camera as the flames were visible behind the home across the street. I suspect that they have lost their home by now, but their lives are far more important than their "stuff."
This is crazy, blazing community fires in December.
🇦🇺 Thoughts going out to you all.
That is a bad way to end 2021....

Thank god we hv no injuries

How did it start? Seems like it's always something these days, especially after the devastating tornado in KY and 3 other states.
100 mph winds blew down a couple of power poles with transformers. Sparks from those transformers landed in the very dry grass.

PRAYERS SENT FOR ALL
a mostly peaceful fire
I've seen other videos as well and am wondering how all the houses burn to the ground yet all the tress are still standing???
That's absolutely devastating!
Any idea how it started ?
this is the first I'm hearing about this, what caused it?
A downed power light and dry grass
Dry winter, no snow, high winds, low quality maintainace of power lines and most of the buildings look to be made of wood.
That's a pretty aweful way to bring in the new year...a lot of grief over the past mo the with BC floods, us tornadoes and now this and of course who knows all the other horrors around the world...
Stay strong, stay brave, stay grateful and know that things will get better. Sometimes things have to literally burn down for something better.
Them winds don't look 120 mph to me. Smoke and flames are pretty much going straight up.
You're right. And why aren't any trees burned, just houses and buildings?
Gubbamint 30. They're at it again!
Hope everyone is alright
Absolutely unreal.
what? firefighters just left? without a backburn/burnout? sorry to those affected. There are some things that should getting done tho.
💔Heartbreaking!! Will this year not go into history without a final disaster! What is happening man😢!!
Praying for every person and animal and plant.
May God wrap His love and protection around the families and business within this area. Know that our heart's are with you. No one ever suffers alone. Buildings can be rebuilt. Have faith. Pray unceasingly. God still hears the prayers of His people.
Stay Safe. Stay Free

how come no big water pressure places are there!!. i mean houses in tornadoe valley have storm shelters underground right?
so you'd think these places would have high pressure water available.
Many signs around us in the world today point to the second coming of Lord Jesus.Repent (having a change of mind, turning from unbelief to belief),for the kingdom of God is at hand - "Believe in Me and only in Me you have eternal life"says the Lord. Perilous times are ahead..Time is running out my dear brothers and sisters . Salvation is in no other name than in the name of Jesus Christ .
The offer of salvation is a free gift for all who believe In Him and today is the day of salvation says the bible . Lord Jesus loves you ..

Fall, dry golden, tall grass.
Note the trees are not burnt!
Please keep updated
How did this happen?
Terrible. This is just terrible. Every time I see one of these horrible fires, I not only think of the people but their pets. I also think about their sentimental belongings. Things that cannot be replaced. Please Lord I hope these people took their pets with them. I hope all got out alive.
I am still concerned. And heartbroken. But let me tell you how terrified I became when I saw Louisville on the screen. I'm in Louisville KY. I was so confused!
Same! Prayers to their families
How common is fired in the winter? Colorado is one of those states where dew is over everything in the mornings. Isn't it usually kinda moist in the winter? I know we have to get use to different conditions now. Everything has changed but the seems crazy to me. Hang in there people of Colorado. Hopefully there is resources to help everyone displaced.
It's been extremely dry this year with no snow here in Colorado. Record winds caused power lines to cause the fire and spread
it's DEW alright
Not this year
It is weird. We had one minor snow dusting these whole winter!!
Strange…I drove past this earlier when it started and we thought it was small. Saw the news tonight and wow…sad.
Climate change is real. Global warming…not so much ummm thats politics….but climate change is real.
It's been dry for awhile here. We had a crazy dumping of snow last year and hot 3 ft but this year there hasnt really even been a dusting of snow in the foothills. We didn't get a lot of rain either

MAN MADE WINDS???
Is it really dry ? Dumb question i know.
