I would love falconry, but it has been made so difficult in Finland, there's only one bird kept for hunting and even the owner says it will probably be the last :( Maybe after I graduate, if I'm lucky, I can move somewhere more falconry friendly. Sweden and Norway are even worse, there falconry isn't allowed at all.
Hi Probably the most informative vid on the net great well done ,,,,this is what we want in Falconry,,great information for the public at large,,,,,,,,,,,,,Trapper
Kestrel would be the last bird I would allow a new falconer have access to , Purley on the weight management difficulties and the practically no margin for error , but I guess if properly mentored a great skill to master early on.
I'm going kestrel over a redtail when it's time based in my game here.. more slips the better.. as well the weight management I see its a plus for me. If I can be on top of it twice a day and have it dialed in i can dial in any bird, imo.. But you are right as I see it... hard to get down as an apprentice
this is a great hobby and job for lots of people who need an outlet. very unique.
Video Games Are Fun which is why i chose the tittle, i agree with you 100%
Wish I would've watch this video before taking falconry exam.
Why?
Love your shirt Jimmy!!👍

Facts may be out dated from when the video was made in 2014 depending on the state. We live in an ever changing world.
Evan
the laws vary state to state as to what birds you can have at different levels. Red tails and kestrels aren't the only ones an apprentice can use.
can marsh harrier be used for falconry
Aboobacker Aftab I am no expert but i believe almost any type of raptor can be used for falconry with good positive training including eagles and owls
Can osprey be bred in captivity
Aboobacker Aftab pretty sure for things like conservation or bird abatement
Can osprey be trained
Yes apparently to some degree. Check Ben Woodruff’s falconry channel he reviews a book about training ospreys
i love this i wish to train. im a builder wish to make a good home x them
I think Steve kornacki from MSNBC is a falconer part time.
why the videos of nowadays are filled with music, that's disdurbing my focus on learning english, I do not hear the words through the music.
I wonder if sporting events could be incorporated here? Instead of simply hunting
500 years BC? No try 2000+ years BC. Falconry has literally been around for millenia.
can western marsh harrier be bred in captivity as the males of this species is polygamous
Love the video but wowowow so many incorrect statements made about the federal
regulations!!

can falcons be trained NOT to hunt ?
RAHUL KUMAR yes! But it’s natural for them.
no. that is their instinct. they will want to hunt just like we will want to walk on 2 feet.
