After a number of men rejected her for being a single parent to a baby boy, always asking where they would get his inheritance from, Muthoni realized that the ball was in her court, entirely.
After leaving Saudi Arabia, she went to work in Bahrain as a domestic worker and later to Dubai. In Dubai, her life took a good turn; her pay was good.
This is when she decided to get that 'inheritance' that was so much dreaded by men, for her only son.
She saved every coin she earned and bought land here in Kenya, so as to secure a future for him. Today, she looks at that piece of land and laughs at the words...'I can't marry a woman who has a baby boy, where will his inheritance come from?'
